I swear I'm going to have 'Gimme Shelter' played at my funeral, not because it means a single thing but rather because I think it's the greatest rock & roll song ever made. Got to see them in 1989 in St. Louis on their Steel Wheels tour. Best $33 that I ever spent.

I saw the Steel Wheels Tour in Los Angeles! I saw the opening act, Bon Jovi, totally lose it and go off on his band and announce that he would probably quit, and these girls behind us started wailing and moaning like a car bomb had gone off up there, we couldn't even hear!

I would love for the real untold truth and I mean TRUTH stories of Queen, Beatles, Stones, and Led Zeppelin, and I mean the whole truth of the days on the road during their absolute prime. It would be awesome to hear all the real true crazy stories, especially when it comes to Freddie Mercury and his life style from the late 70s until like 84-85' right before he found out about his illness. Also Zeppelin from 72-77 would be awesome. I can only imagine what was going on with page and plant with the ladies and drugs, and bonzo with the booze. JPJ was actually pretty low key but I'm sure he had his fun. The Beatles around the time of revolver was probably epic for the time.

Seems like I can never remember a time that The Rolling Stones weren't famous! Mick Jagger hasn't aged in the last 30 years! There sound is still the same as it's been for years. Thank for the video on them. 👍🎶

I LOVE his take on the R&R HOF. I heard Paul Stanley's take on it: " we were indicted" HOF means little to me. I want to know: were they a true musical influence?

The logo was actually designed to represent their record label, Rolling Stones Records. I believe it they started their own record label with Sticky Fingers.

RIP Charlie Watts, he was the glue that held the Stones together. And Brian Jones would have rejoined eventually, cause you can't say no to playing stadiums.

Nothing wrong with that song Brown Sugar. Stones were just describing something that sometimes happened in history. When you go around censoring songs, books, history or truth, because someone bitches about it.. that is 1984 Big Brother nightmare world. I dont like the song, I am bored of it, I like other songs of theirs a lot more, but that doesnt mean they should not play it or should change it. Nothing wrong with it at all. The incidents in the song are terrible, but telling the truth in the song is perhaps necessary. Keep playing it, rock is supposed to be edgy at times.

Keith said that a lot of girls they met were pretty into some wild stuff, and they were cool with it, he said they weren't judging, they were drawing a picture of what was going on then. You are right. Sanitizing and bleaching history is more offensive than anything else....

Why is that? The Stones just NOW ended with the death of Charlie. Lots of Gen Xers like me saw them in concert. I saw them twice. We partied just as hard as they did.
