Love the video just wish I could hear an actual persons voice and not the TTS robot. It is very distracting and brings me out of the immersion of the video. I understand a lot of Pvz RU-vidrs don’t like using voices, but it would be nice to hopefully get a video like this in the future with an actual voice to match the vibe of the video since I think it would be a lot less distracting and much easier to understand and flow with.
17:55 The reason why Gravedigger didn't even make it as a boss is because the developers liked the idea of Baron Von Bats more. Also a fun fact: Baron Von Bats is referred as Gravedigger in the GW files
Honestly it's interesting to see what the game could have been, things that were made much worse or much better before launch. I feel like more could've been added in the sequel though
The bunker can be seen in front of zomboss estate main map portain and is used as a mat it may be there because it was forgotten and the did not remove it
Seeing all this stuff is so uncanny. You're so used to seeing stuff like this in the natural context of the game and then when you see models and texture sheets outside of the game it's creepy because it's like peeling back the skin and seeing the bones.
Defo seems like the bunker was the remanants of the in game entryway into the Zombot arena, perhaps you would start this scrapped Zombot fight in zomboss estate, and at some point, the bunker reveals itself to enter the boss room.
yeah it makes more sense that the battle was supposed to be underground. i thought that maybe zombot would kidnap you and then you would appear in zommbos's lab
Looking at how gravedigger was scrapped to due lack of variant ideas, im gonna assume they were gonna go the same direction with the swat zombie. But at least there’s a variant who is somewhat similar to swat zombie, it being the tank commander. Seeing how the Arm grenade activates and crashes the game means it must’ve been pretty close to being in the game instead of the sticky exploding ball, unfortunately it was also scraped. At least we know it got to the animation stage at one point.
This one is gonna be VERY intresting, because no one showed unused content of GW1 and this game's unused content was the biggest mystery so far. Except the zombot turret and the boss mode browncoat summon, cuz they were shown in the trailers
Well there is the art of pvz book with a good amount I’d say most of everything shown by the art director was in it besides a few things like the trash man not all art but at least some for most
The loading music was scrapped and updated in GW two due to it being to Syfy is most likely would’ve been used for the zombot loading in love the video Can finally learn the secrets of my favorite games so thank you for sharing this content and also I love your channel
6:04 I could genuinely see a Creepy Pasta made about this You use the Scrapped Ability, Your Game Crashes and your left looking at your Screen Frozen as a Glitched Scientist’s Laugh plays Endlessly
I'm pretty sure the "scrapped teleporter" design was actually meant for the boss mode trailer, where Dr. Zomboss can be seen driving such vehicle while touring his ship.
Honestly amazing work 👏 But here's a theory for the bunker I think that's probably where the zombot would come out of also super team vanquish sounds like a cool gamemode and I would of loved suburban flats connected to zomboss estate I remember seeing in one of the dev documentary that suburban flats was originally called suburbia and how if you look up you can see zomboss mansion anyway amazing work
The gargantuar "take your imp to work day" made me smile. Also, maybe the SWAT zombie and gravedigger might work as playable classes if given enough attention.
I think the “getting the original character abilities in packs” was when you level up you get a character pack, I assume this was supposed to have the abilities which you’d open and get, but they decided it’d take way too many rounds to get your abilities fully so they went with instantly getting it when you level up
I think I know why the bunker is in suburban flats. So suburban flats and zomboss estate used to be one map, in my mind it would of been something similar to the backyard battle ground in GW2 with two sides, maybe it could of been some sort of free roam thing or something where you had to battle your way to the estate and once there you fight a boss, that boss would probably of been the zombot arena under the estate and that bunker would of been the access point.
Gonna take a shot at the bunker real quick here. I believe that the thing we see in the E3 showcase would of been some sort of mission to find and kill the zombot. You'd do something in suburb flats then move onto Zomboss estate were you'd do something like ops then you'd go into the bunker and find the zomboss room with the zombot. In the E3 showcase you can see a bunch of dead zombies with the camera going through open gates to zomboss estate. To me this seems like we are seeing a section of the mission. Also, the E3 zomboss thing is nothing more then a tease/outro for the showcase after looking at the files. When messing with Cheat Engine in gw1 though, the only map I could get bungee zombie and zombot to work on was zomboss estate. Just a bit of speculation here.
Speaking of connected maps, if you get out of bounds on the map Time Park in GW2, you can see parts of Dino Landz from Turf Takeover and Romez on both of their respective sides. I found this out from a rare camera glitch that happened to me once
Wish we actually got something similar to chomp virus, but involving hypno shrooms instead. Would've made more sense, and would've been just as cool, if not cooler.
i speculate that the bunker was part of the arena with the zombot as they both take place where zomboss estate should be except that the fight itself takes place under the estate in some sort of secret factory but i'm not sure how this would go with all the other maps it most likely happens in ops through a super boss wave (most likely due to balance reasons and to make it special) though it won't surprise me if it was it's own game mode i also want to mention that concept art for the game was intresting as well for example: zombies using planes, balloon zombie with a machine gun and infamously an abomination alien looking peashooter that i wan't to beat it up if it were a boss unused stuff for GW1 is really interesting since some of it could have also been in GW2 and maybe BFN as well
Honestly if they wanted to swap to full horror for a fight they should have made that horrifying peashooter art a boss on zomboss estate that pulls you into and takes place in the forest of dead trees
The zombot could be an unused minigame for an unused garden and graveyard map since there is a map where you have to figth zombot at the last point in pvz gw2 called zombopolis
I’d appreciate credit for the unused music. I’d also like to point out that they are NOT .ogg files, and those file names are completely faked. They’re actually .WAV files.
The instrumental Rah Rah Rah! also isn’t unused. Almost every song in Garden Warfare has multiple “layers” of audio, and in this case, the vocals were on a separate layer. I ripped the audio without that layer, and got the instrumental.
Huh, strange, since the cutting room floor lists them in the unused section, and when checking them out (so that I could label them accordingly), those were the names of the files. I’d check for myself if I actually had a good enough PC to run the shooter games on it (though I unfortunately don’t)
@@LtDarkRing They took all of those clips (aside from one) from my channel, hence why they don’t have correct filenames, and hence why they assumed Rah Rah Rah was unused (as everything else I uploaded was). Some audio won’t have different filenames as they’re stored in a sorta “sound archive” thing, so a more proper name scheme would be “loading_variation6” for example. The Cutting Room Floor should seriously do a better job at crediting their sources instead of taking clips from RU-vid videos in order to properly document things, but this sadly isn’t the first time this has happened. At least the audio is real, though.
The zombot "fight" map is really cool in my opinion, it definitely had an attack planned to mirror the original plants vs zombies, you can see the van zomboss throws at you
Now, this is very interesting to watch! That was a great documentary of all these undiscoverable content in gw1! I used to play pvz gw1 in ps3 back in the years and still didn't discovered all the content they didn't released or moved to pvz gw2. But again, that was a great discovery!
25:57 what if this could have been a campaign (single player and multiplayer with local split screen and online play) with the plants (sorry zombies) where you play suburban flats first then Zomboss estate or whatever order you want. I think the story will be that you have to protect the humans from the zombies since there getting desperate as them trying to defend themselves from the zombies isn’t really working out well and what you have to do is removing the zombies in suburban flats preventing other zombies to attack by attacking the Zomboss estate (also this is a BASED THING here since I played Pikmin 1 and dead rising but there should be a time limit to complete the game or else you’ll get a bad ending where the zombies are way too much for the humans to handle and the plants get captured by the zombies gets the humans get there brains eaten and the plants get killed with weed killer spray but just as all the bad stuff is about to happen the screen will get black and text would pop up saying BAD ENDING since this is plants vs zombies after all). Also the final boss would have 2 different versions with 2 different endings, 1 for single player in the mini arena with the bunker and 1 for multiplayer in Zomboss estate with both endings being happy with the fact that you saved suburbia and there would be a super secret ending where you 100% complete everything and there would be a second cutscene where you’re at a festival with tons of plants that are celebrating for what you did and you’re character will hang out with them. The campaign would be 3 hours long (6 hours for completion) with the time limit being 7 hours and since it’s most definitely possible to NOT complete the game with 0 deaths on you’re first play through (you’ll probably have died around 10-20 times by the end of the game) you’ll either get the bad ending or get the normal ending and not 100% complete everything. There also could be EASY, NORMAL and HARD difficulty modes where you can swap difficulties at any time and the differences between the difficulties should be drastic (*cough cough* Pikmin 3 deluxe) and even easy mode will have some VERY challenging moments in it and hard mode will be literal HELL. And to top it all off I think the game could (and should) not need internet connection or else you’re playing online with friends. Let’s be honest the plants vs zombies community such as myself would have loved a mode like that. :)
That spotter icon for grave digger looks like the icons for boss mode to me. Despite it being added a little later on. Because on boss mode everyone is shown in a pixel style with a thicker white outline like he was shown with.
It’s interesting that they added cameos for grave digger in the second sequel if you go to the secret bunker in the garage and look at the papers at the left, you can see a picture of grave digger but there’s an X on him and in the Z Tech Factory map, at the laboratory, there’s also another cameo for grave digger but he is in a tube, floating. im not sure if someone already said this in the comments but if they did, sorry.
you can still view the bunker (even in online gnome bomb matches) and yes i tried on tvm but it just got ko'd when i went out of bounds... basically go to the house that's next to where the taco would be with 2 cars lined up next to the garage (the house is gray and has 3 windows (one lit) a street light can also be seen near the garage... then use hyper (or super pea jump) to get on top the house look straight upwards jump sombreo bean bomb (reg bean may work idk) the jump again move forward your now on the other side of the house walk through the mountain (it has no collision) go to tthe part of the fence that's goes through the mountain walk through the mountain AGAIN go right to the house and start climbing! when you can climb it anymore use hyper / super pea jump and tada! boom no mods required! i did it on xbox btw
the design of the swat zombie was changed because they said it "wasn't funny enough." but i say the real reason why it was changed is because it would of had an impact on the game's rating due to it having real weapons
In Garden Warfare 2 I actually got the sticker packs that said Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare and my friend gave me these sticker packs. he gave me I think about 128 of these packs and thats not the only friend I have, I have more.
The bunker could be employed as an anchor point to search up for the area they intended to expand on in the files when needed more easily, have done similar things when creating my own designs and it helps a lot rather than having to search for it everytime you enter the project.
These unused stuff with that music in the background weirdly make it more eerie. It's also a bummer that the turret was scrapped, I would've love placing down sentries instead of an ability that I rarely use.
For a game that is 8 years old now I find it surprising how a lot of cut content was found in the game files and how a lot of stuff might still be in the game.Take GW2 for example a lot of the cut/scraped bosses seemed to have a lot of potential like the imitator boss and GW1 had gravedigger which could've been fun to play as,it feels like lost media due to how we could've had more stuff to fight, collect and play but the developers didn't have the time to implement it in the game's which sucks because these game still hold up after so many years.Lets just hope they one day come back to these games like they did to GW2 with the Capture the Taco dlc for the townhall
Carpenter could’ve used a nail gun that shoots like the machanic, although with how a lot of classes have a three round burst it could’ve been that instead which sounds sick
this is very well made and interesting, because gw1 is a old game(8 yeras old bro thats a LOT) it was very hard to find secrets and even make mods and seeing this documantary was way more interesting than gw2 becuase it didnt know absoluting nothing of it(congrats to all makers of this video this is amazing)
what if the bunker in suburban flats is a remanining asset form the zomboss fight idea? the bunker opens and you drop into the area to fight the zombot
I kind of think that why the bunker was presented in the scrapped section in the suburban flats AKA where zomboss estate was supposed to be, was to act like an entrance to the zombot arena. After all the arena takes place in Zomboss estate. Though, this is just a speculation.
That thing in 24:00 looks like the zombopolis map where the Zombot hits you when you get close and behind it the power source you need to break which then deactivates the shield
in zomboss estate you can find slenderman being eaten by chomper if you look outside of the map to the right of the armory place you can see below the zombie crane they used it in the background
