The Prometheus is one of my most favorite fictional ships ever. I liken it to a luxury sports car. It looks and is actually fast. Yet has all the amenities a trillionair would need. The Prometheus was the only death I felt sad at in the film.
The deck blueprints looks very interesting! I'm wondering what's the source for these? There seem to be some inconsistencies between this blueprint and the ship deck layout explained in The Furious Gods - Making Prometheus though, notably, according to the later the ejectable executive suite is on the top deck and the cryo chambers are in the core of the ship (presumably deck B).
Totally! Star Citizen grabs inspiration many Sci-fi franchises. The Reclaimer salvage ship feels like the Nostromo. It was even designed by one of the guys who worked on Alien: Isolation. It's just missing a Xenomorph. If anyone wanted to feel what it is like to fly the Nostromo or Prometheus, Star Citizen is probably the closest we'll get.
@@rolandmine6693 at some point ya , that’s the engineers will also . So how could David and Engineers share the same goal ? It’s odd And maybe a clue as to how our world works David , as Star of Engineers as banking regulatory commission The Alien - fiat currency and its morphing forms?
After some thorough research, aka googling, I found some possible sources. The outside blueprints are from the awesome looking book "Alien: The Blueprints" and the interior seems to be from the avp fandom wiki from the USCSS Cronus site.
Technically the medical pod couldn't do C-Sections because it was calibrated to male occupants, and the c-section it did do, was pretty much done on the fly
That's a nice ship, but, from the orthographic at 3:19, there is nothing on that ship that would permit it to fly superluminally which is what it had to do in the movie. Ion engines aren't going to do it... and fission-powered is just going to make it worse, because then it's just one big battery. This was not thought out.
Shame she didn't last,i know she wasn't a warship but you'd think given the nature of the mission and class, shed have some sort of weapons even if they are there for defence/just incase..
he ship is really the first of its kind, so without any competition from earth or known enemies in space, placing weapons on the ship doesn't make much sense to me. That obviously changed once more and more colonies were founded and earth's space activity expanded leading to the use of colonial marines.
Ships and stations should have a kinetic or Laser point defense system against space debris. Which could have been co-opted for offensive measures if needed. Not enough to threaten a warship but strong enough to ward off pirates .
Even at a small fraction of light speed the kinetic energy of a small object disengaged from Prometheus would be devastating. There were obviously no close quarters weaponry.
Prometheus is before Covenant Reverse of reality. That’s an insult and inside joke about the creator That’s why David got his head ripped off. Keep watching the movies , they are confusing Took me 10 years to figure this out
Prometheus is a beautful ship but it's not canon for me. Prometheus and Covenant just don't seem to make any sense nor do they easily fit into the Alien universe.
Let's give the CAPTAIN & crew a big Harrah !! They saved the frikkon planet by sacrificing themselves ? Prometheus was an awesome piece of man's accomplishment but ! REAL, MORAL MINDED MEN HAD THE CONTROLS AT THAT FINAL MOMENT RIGHT !
