I love how Damon is just casually spending time and bonding with Elena’s family lol and he’s once again in the kitchen with her 😂. I find it interesting how he genuinely asked Elena if he could trust Stefan and then just looks at her like 🤨 when she thought he was trying to compel her. You can tell he was hurt when he says “you had me fooled”. Bonnie is so smart for not reacting immediately after figuring out that Ben was a vampire. I remember thinking she had pulled it off as well but then he grabbed her 😭 Loved the reaction, had me laughing when you were all discussing Isobel “all we know is what her back looks like” haha
katherine compelled stefan because he freaked out when she made her vampire face and stuff, damon didn’t care that she was a vampire so katherine didn’t need to compelled him but with stefan he wouldn’t continue in the relationship if katherine didn’t had compelled him!!!
actually, damon didn't know the extent of everything with katherine and stefan at all i know the actual books aren't exactly like the show but there ARE books made specifically for the show in the shows canon around this time period i don't expect everyone to read them but i also wish people didn't act like they know for a fact certain things and jsut assume the worst because they have a hater boner for damon plus, stefan did love katherine compelled or not the compelling was just so he wouldn't be scared and that's literally it which is what OP is saying homie literally kept her picture all those years as a keepsake to keep staring and and kept tabs on (some say stalked) elena just because she looks like her and SPOILERSSS BELOW & jumped at the chance to sleep with katherine again when he wasn't in a relationship with elena and was the only one pushing the ~katherine has been through a lot and is good~ narrative yet people actually think she compelled her love? she literally says she didn't i'm sorry but the narrative is and always been both brothers were IN LOVE with katherine whether they still are is debatable but they were compelled or not i also do find is sus when people like to blame damon for stuff but ~love katherine~ LOL it's hilarious and i know damon isn't a saint but neither is any character besides maybe bonnie
Damon Didn’t want to become a vamp to kill people his only want EVER was to be with kathrine and that was the way to do that. Without her he never wanted vamperism. But thank goodness someone did what they did cause now we have the most iconic vamp:)

Anna was a vampire back then. I think Damon just didn't know how (vampire) old she was and how strong she could be. And I think he's just cocky about his own strength. He's tried or he will try to overpower older vampires.
I think he knew and still gave it a go. The way I see it, the age of vampires just gives them an advantage. It doesn't make them invincible in a fight, they can still lose. Otherwise, all the fights that happen as of season 2 wouldn't make any sense haha Even in real life, weight and strength are definitely good for one-on-one battle but they don't mean automatic victory!
I think Damon is still slightly stronger though. She wasn't able to push him off her, and she was unable to get Damon off her mother when he was choking her out
I Always, no matter how many times i watch this episode have a huge laugh about people blaming everything on stefan, because what’s even funnier is Damon who’s an older brother trusting a big ass secret to his younger brother. Meaning, we all know how morally kind and trusting Stefan is as a vampire. Imagine how naive AND trusting he was as a 17 year old human. What i’m saying is even more proved when Stefan goes to his father and talks about vampires being “kind.” Like bro, stop being so naive and stupid maybe?💀 Anyways,, thank you for the reaction, it was a lot of fun as always. You’re interestingly missing the writing of them as humans and of them now. Damon back then was totally a softie. The age difference isn’t a problem stefan was almost 18 - don’t make that seem like a five year old age. Stefan was totally grown. When they became vampires that’s when they developed who they are now, stefan became like this because of guilt meanwhile damon learned to survive and do anything while trusting no one. They weren’t originally like all this lol. And it is stefans fault for starting the convo up which no one would do in that age to try and protect demons, totally would rise up suspicions about him being compelled. Stop trying to make stefan a person with no faults. Literally both brothers are still human inside they make mistakes and they don’t. You people who try to make one brother a hero are lowkey so annoying and so grossly biased- the greatness of stefans character is he does have faults which his guilt eats him for and how he constantly tries to not make the mistakes anymore. The show basically told you it’s stefan who gave it up and yet you try and blame Damon anyway 🙄

Even tho human Damon was in fact very nice and trusting compared to the vampire him, stefan was not just that, but naive too. Which resulted him in going to his father and stupidly starting a conversation about “trusting and understanding” demons. That’s why i said I couldn’t understand the blame on stefan in this specific situation, i’m sure he was that naive that he didn’t even think he was doing anything wrong by showing his father some “philosophical” views about demons. that doesn’t mean he has no faults and hasn’t done horrible shit, which every vampire has done. None of them are innocent in any way. Objectively i would never imply that.

Damon acts all hurt that Elena lied to him. To this point, he has been torturing and tormenting her friends since he got into town, but he wants to act like its a grand betrayal that she told a fib. 🙄
