I get where both Damon and Stefan are coming from. Damon’s all about protecting Elena at any cost, while Stefan is also concerned about her friends and family. And tbf, what’s the point of Elena being alive if everyone she loves is dead? It’s a good team to have tho. The head and the heart.
I definitely agree, Damon is more interesting to me based on what I’ve seen. He’s fun to watch and can’t really be defined as good or bad bc he makes questionable choices if he thinks that’s the best solution. I also kinda like that while Elena puts everyone before herself, there’s someone that puts her before the rest. She’s looking out for her loved ones but to Damon her safety comes first and foremost. He’s morally gray but he seems to care about her a bunch❣️
That’s why Damon helped her so much with her survival guilt issues , people who suffer from survival guilt , they feel like they don’t deserve to live , they feel guilty just about being alive.if you don’t wanna help them , make them think that they’re right , if they go on a suicide mission to sacrifice themselves , respect their choice and let them do that!! That’s what Stefan is doing ,this is not helping At all,but if you wanna help them , do the exact opposite, fight for their life , make them realise how valuable their life is , that’s what Damon is doing , he is reminding her , how valuable she really is that she deserves to live , because there’s some one who can’t live without her , that he would absolutely do anything in his power to make sure she stays alive and happy, so she is valuable, her life means something, this would help her get over her survival guilt.
@@mahamoon1917 stefan did encourage her to fight when they were at the lakehouse, he literally told her that being a martyr isnt heroic its tragic and he was gonna make sure she lives her life which encouraged elena and she stabbed elijah...the thing is damons first solution is to sacrifice her friends and family to protect her which isnt worth it, stefan and elena are just trying to find a different solution where everyone can live and damon's solution is to sacrifice her best friend...i sure as hell wont want to live if my entire family dies

I don’t know why people misinterpret what he says here , is he forcing Bonnie to sacrifice herself ?, that’s her own decision, no one is forcing her to do any thing , that’s her own choice , he is showing it even in this episode that he cares about Bonnie , and when Elena said “we’ll find another way “he said “I hope so “ meaning he also looks for another way if it’s possible , like what he did now , he managed to save both Elena and Bonnie by his plan , what he means here is that in the extreme situation where I don’t have any other possible choice and I had to choose between you and others , I will always choose you which I think anyone would do the same in real life , he is in love with Elena and he wants her safe and happy , of course he knows she is not gonna be happy without her loved ones , so he thinks about all the other options before he choose the extreme one which he did multiple times through out the whole show
@@mahamoon1917 true, these guys always want to make damon look bad even when he does good, infact if damon didn't have a plan like this, stef would've let both bonnie and elena die, like he said he always worries about the collateral damage and here, elena crying for bonnie is the collateral damage for him🤦, if they've told elena, it wouldn't have been a honest reaction and klaus would find out
Bonnie confirmed in this episode that the ring protects from supernatural killing, but it doesn’t work on people who are supernatural (including witches like her, vampires like Stefan or Damon, and also doppelgängers like Elena), so the ring theory doesn’t work
I get it what Damon said to Stefan but we need someone to think about "Collateral Damage" RIGHT !! It's amusing for me that Stefan takes everyone's life into consideration and not just the girl he love, that's an amazing quality, loving someone is one thing but you can't make other's to sacrifice their own lives for the person you love. I think this quality makes him unique and Human in right terms.
Yes but Stefan had no plans. He is so smitten and completely clueless that if it wasn't Damon then Bonnie would've actually died since Alaric kind of spooked her. So, collareral damage and Klaus would also be coming while Damon saved both. This has been the theme of the show, for first few seasons when Stelena were together, Damon did all the work and when Delena were together then Stefan started making all the plans while Damon was always busy saving Elena.
@@RV-mk9ry I didn't compare anyone. Damon and Stefan are like Mom and Dad, both have equal importance and just like we can't fight over a fact that who is better or who loves us most Mom or Dad similarly you can't decide between them. Even in a life death situation you can't make anyone else to sacrifice themselves for the people you love, that is not love it is selfish attitude. Bonnie has a life of her own, she has a family (even if it is off-screen) why should we make her sacrifice. Stefan is isn't just in theory, his most of the plans do work and actually even making emotional decisions he do use his mind where Damon do that occasionally. So yeah that's what i was trying to say anyways have a great day.

I love how much Bonnie and Elena care about each other, they both want to protect each other and are willing to do anything. When I tell you I broke down watching this episode and thinking that Bonnie died I mean I BROKE DOWN 😭 “I don’t mind being the bad guy. I’ll make all the life and death decisions while you’re busy worrying about collateral damage. I’ll even let her hate me for it. But at the end of the day, I’ll be the one to keep her alive” oof what a statement. I love him for it. He came up with an idea at the dance after finding out that Alaric was there and ultimately it worked bc Bonnie isn’t actually dead and Elena is also safe right now but in the meantime Elena was upset thinking he let Bonnie die. He does what has to be done and will keep Elena safe at all cost. The scene where Klaus/Alaric is so proud of himself for the dance announcement and then Damon calls it lame is one of my favorite lol also the “surprise” 😂 “I will always choose you” Damon really does love Elena and I think in that moment she realized just how serious he was/the extent of what he was willing to do to keep her alive so it kinda scared her and she went and did something bc she’s not okay with a plan in which her best friend dies. It’s not that Damon wouldn’t care about Elenas loved ones being alive or not, he did ask Bonnie if there was anything that could be done to increase her odds of surviving, he just has people who are more important to him. It makes sense bc even in real life you may care about people and their well-being but you have certain people who you put above everyone else and would move mountains for.
Also I agree that Stefan is interesting is but Damon is more interesting rather I find him and Klaus the best characters because they keep things running. And many times Damon's actions (questionable at times) move the story forward in my opinion.
@@E.M2335 By bad plans I meant that backfired on him. But I totally agree 🙂 I loved all his plans. Like I said in another comment his plans always lead to story progression so no complaints whatsoever.
I get both of Bonnie and Elenas reasonings for wanting to sacrifice themselves. It’s different but also the same bc Elena dying saves people, it prevents Klaus from going after her loved ones and her willingness to do the sacrifice is why Elijah made a deal in the first place. Obviously Bonnie using her magic also saves people bc she has all this power now and that’s the only thing they know of that can stop Klaus during the ritual. That said, from what Bonnie got from Luka, we know that she can’t do the spell unless Klaus is vulnerable after Elena dies so it’s tricky anyway.
To me, Bonnie sacrificing herself is different because when she does it Klaus will die, when Elena does it Klaus will become more powerful. Not only that but if Bonnie sacrifices herself she saves not only Elena but the vampire and werewolf that need to be sacrificed too. If Elena sacrifices herself then a werewolf and vampire have to die too.
I agree that Damon is more interesting than Stefan. Both brothers are great but, Damon's humor and impulsive personality keeps things interesting, whereas Stefan can become too predictable.

Elijah didn't need to be invited in by Slater, because Slater is a vampire. If that house is just his own house and not under the name of a living person (like his gf), then everyone could just enter the house like the salvatore's house before Elena was the owner and after Zach's death.
I'm a Virginia native and in small towns like Mystic falls everyone really does know everyone else, all the kids grew up together going to the same schools and attended the same parties.
This is why Elena loves Stefan and why she needs someone like him in her life. Fans for some reason like Damon's approach but Stefan knows what Elena needs and that's her friends and family.

To I like both Damon and Stefan because Damon is all about keeping Elena safe no matter what and Stefan wants to keep the people around her safe which is great but overall I think I just prefer their brother bond over anything
A possessed body can use the powers of the possesser even if the body is a non supernatural. Same as how E posseses R body to and trick and kill K and can still uses their magic even though their in a vampire's body. Or in the Originals where Inadu possess the vampire body or M's girlfriend's body to kill H and H
That is always my favorite part of this episode. He says no he won't obey the master of the house, then says ok to no more lies or secrets, and then he lies to her and keeps a secret that very night. Love him
I don't agree with damon one bit. How he portrays himself as the saviour of Elena . What even is the use of Elena being alive if her friends and family are dead. We always need people like Stefan to worry about collateral damage...
Actually Twin Peaks was the beginning of serious TV, it had it soap opera-y moments but it was still brilliant and directed by David Lynch, The Wire reinforced that
that's not a lie at all?????? in the books and show SERIES EXTREME SPOILERS BELOW like if you're saying bamon is more important he never saw her that way in the show and homeboy was thinking about letting her get hit by a car to have elena... sure, he doesn't actually try to kill bonnie to get to elena but that's not choosing between them at all? he's a vampire and can wait & she's his friend so he's not going to kill her that's not 'choosing bonnie over elena' LOL if they were both going to die and he could only go to one location he would save elena the only real dilemma is elena or stefan you can ship them (idk if you do but if you do okay) but don't make up lies bonnie and damon could be cute in an au but when elena exists that would never happen ....

Damon has shown to be fiercely protective (sometimes overly protective) of Bonnie even though he won't and can't admit it to himself and he is always there for her whenever she is in trouble of any kind. the book says Damon knows that only Bonnie is his "weak spot" although Damon constantly and repeatedly tries to deny it throughout the series. but my comment wasn't a lie either whether u like it or not Damon did choose Bonnie over Elena (in TV series) in that moment to save Bonnie live. doesn't mean he love Elena any less. but in this episode he really meant what he said cause that's how strong he felt about Elena. also if you want the ending of the couple that ends up together of the book series the original Arthur has been writing her own ending, while the publishers wrote another that she didn't agree with.
The look back Bon did to Elena translated to me: "Look, I love you but I have to finish what I started." And she looked away. Kat's acting is the best.
