The Vampire Diaries 2x2 "Brave New World" Reaction 

I give Bonnie a lot of leeway because you really have to look at things from her point of view. We the audience get to see the good and human side of the vampire main characters. Bonnie doesn't. To Bonnie this is the order of events Stefan and Damon show up right around the time an increase in "animal attacks" happen including their history teacher that Bonnie was having psychic intuitions about Damon starts fooling around with Caroline. And after Elena finds bites all over her it now looks like Damon is being abusive to her friend. Including Caroline waking up alone on the ground at the founders party after being dragged off by Damon. (The whole Damon getting the crystal thing) Caroline gives Bonnie the crystal which causes Damon to start harassing her, tries to snatch it off her neck, gets Caroline to try and snatch it off her neck. And after Emily possesses her and destroys it, when Bonnie comes to consciousness now Damon is attacking her and she's only saved by Stefans blood. And Elena has to tell her about vampires, a secret she was keeping even after Bonnie told her about being a witch More vampires show up. One pretends to flirt with her and kidnaps her and Elena. And threatens Elena's life so Bonnie will do a spell for them. Eventually Stefan saves them and Grams agrees to open the tomb door Only Damon was suppose to go in and get trapped, but Elena gets dragged in and then Stefan goes to save her after he hears her screaming. So Bonnie, whose interactions with Stefan have been good so far, asks Grams to lower the spell. Everyone gets out but Grams then dies. Then after Bonnie comes back to town after taking some time away because of Grams death, she learns that not only did the Tomb vampires end up getting out, so her grams death was for nothing. She also witnesses Stefan, the "good vampire", tweaking out at the miss mystic falls pageant, snatching up one of the contestants and literally hunting her, and tosses damon around in the woods. And he is only stopped by her magic. So even poster child vampire stefan lost it and became a danger to a random girl that bonnie likely knew from school/town Then she's ask to de-spell a device that can be used against vampires which is something her grams likely wouldn't have done. She lies, but thankfully she did because otherwise the tomb vampires would have killed who knows how many members of the founding families, of which most of her close friends are members or are innocent people. And then despite having nothing but negative interactions with Damon helps Stefan rescue him. Then in Season Two Katherine comes back and attacks her at the Lockwood party, and giving Caroline vampire blood to heal her might have been the only thing that saved her life. She couldn't have known she'd get killed and turned. And then with this episode Caroline one of her oldest friends is turned and the way she finds out is by running into Caroline after she'd just killed this innocent guy who Bonnie had a bit of a crush on and who seemed into her. Seeing how quickly her long time friend became a murder because of being turned into a vampire. And that coupled with Damon being super flippant and disrespectful about it. And Stefan has shown that even "good" vampires can become dangerous and predatory. Just about none of her interactions with vampires have been good, besides Stefan who again has shown that even he isn't 100% not dangerous and in total control.

The best friendship in this series will still take a long time to happen, but it will be beautiful

we saw a lot of new vampires in this show, but caroline's beginnings (and evolution) were the most interesting! she showed us that when you have a good heart and an iron will, you can at least try to be good; many of the others instantly became monsters.

“I don’t like Bonnie, she always blames Damon” well everything started with him so-

i feel like a lot of first time watchers are very unfair to bonnie. whenever damon does something horrible due to his emotions he’s forgiven immediately but when bonnie reacts badly due to her emotions everyone hates her :(

In the story of TVD Witches find themselves in the middle of Vampire issues. They've had a love hate relationship throughout the years. Bonnie is a new Witch & seeing her Grams die so early was obviously traumatic. Of course she blames vampires for her loss. It would take anyone time to go through the stages of grief. She's clearly still in the angry stage & because of it she comes across as unlikable. The thing about Bonnie is when she's your friend she's as solid as a rock. I guess you could say that about all of them. Which is why we love the show. Vampire, human or witch, it's friendships that matter most.

Once a human turns into a vampire all their memories that were compelled away come back. Caroline kinda knew what was going on because like Damon said she got all her memories back when she turned the memories of Damon and Stefan being Vampires she remembers all the conversations she's had with Damon about what vampires are in this world she also remembers being fed on so she knows how to feed and she also knows vampires can compel people from knowing how Damon compelled her to not be afraid of his Vampirism or tell anyone about it. I love all of Damon and Jeremy's interactions idk why but Damon always is the big brother to him while Stefan tries to be more of a father for some reason. Damon with anyone can create some of the best friendships in the show. Need a new friendship put them with Damon cause he has chemistry with anyone he could have chemistry with a tree. ❤Damon

i would do anything to watch this show again for the first time. I've watched it like 20 times all the way thru and im not exaggerating, but watching it for the first time hit hard bro. Its such a great show and i have such high expectations now for any show or movie similar to this because its so good, & no matter how many times i watch it, it never gets boring.

OMG you are the first reactors that cut the best scene it this episode Stefan and Caroline in the bathroom very emotinal and great moment instead you included very boring speech from Matt

I think Bonnie is hurt and angry so she’s acting out, I agree she annoyed me, but I didn’t hate her because it’s understandable - she’s still a young girl who got stuck in the middle of everything

Damon is such an insecure little bully, and Bonnie has principles, her reactions are completely understandable. She's absolutely a better person than Damon lol no contest.

Can not wait for the Bonnie hater to end up loving her cause that's our bestie!

I feel like y’all r a bit to harsh on Bonnie she’s being realistic, if you met a vampire who came into town and he tried to kill you and your friends you would want to kill him to, plus she’s still figuring out who she is and her powers she’s struggling to

"Like if Kat was a vampire. Spreadsheets everywhere!." I'm cackling at that! I have to say Bonnie's reaction in this episode is slightly hypocritical because while she's not wrong in that everything that's happening is a result, whether direct or indirect, of Damon wanting to get into the tomb, in this case it is also her fault, because in the last episode, she's the one that was like: JUST GIVE CAROLINE SOME BLOOD -- and ultimately if she hadn't have been the deciding vote for that, Katherine wouldn't have been able to come around and turn her in the way she did. So I think her attacking Damon there is because she doesn't have the strength to blame herself, and since his being a vampire WAS a conduit to Caroline's turning, it's easy for her to redirect that anger and shame she's feeling about herself onto him instead! I still have to have a laugh about Erin and JD's excitement over Tyler and Mason -- it gives me a giggle! I do agree with Jenny though, about that shot in season 1 -- bit on the nose. But I think 2009 CW dramas like TVD often were! It's part of their charm 😂

I tend to agree with JD and Erin's thoughts on Bonnie! I think they're pretty spot on. :) Next one is an interesting one regarding Caroline....Can't wait!

This is one of my most rewatched episodes of the show. I love Vampire Caroline! Also, maybe I’m weird but I never liked Bonnie. She was just an annoying plot device for 95% of the show. I agree Bonnie feels guilty and is blaming others (Damon and Caroline) to take the guilt away from herself. Bonnie insisted on doing the spell to reopen the tomb, Bonnie lied about deactivating the Gilbert device, Bonnie told Damon to give Caroline his vampire blood, and Bonnie told Katherine (while she was pretending to be Elena) that Caroline had vampire blood in her system - leading to Katherine turning Caroline into a vampire.

I hated Bonnie too at this stage 😂 I'll always hate Caroline though 🤮
