Rick and Damon's friendship is so sweet. Liz shooting Jeremy is such a surprise, really good scene. Damon and Stefan actor both give great performances. Klaus is diabolical af. Looking forward to next season.
I always thought this was a pity kiss from Elena, a final gift to a dear friend that loved her and was about to die in a few moments. You won't believe the amount of people that hate Elena for this in the fandom, but to be honest it was as selfless as a kiss could ever be.
If anyone is confused by this kiss Elena never kissed Damon in hopes that she was cheating on Stefan and to mess with Damon's head she thought he was going to die she didn't know there was a cure she was saying goodbye.
The brother bond is unbreakable. Stefan didn't think twice about saving Damon. He dropped everything, including Elena, to ensure his brother's life. Season 3 is here and I'm so pumped!
I love that Damon asked Elena for her forgiveness but respected what she said and didn’t tell her about the werewolf bite to gain sympathy or to pressure her into forgiving him. He was dying but still said “sure, of course. Take all the time you need” when she says she needs time as if he had any left. The fact that seeing her was the last thing that he planned to do before taking off his ring 😩 Elijah really just cares about his family which I guess he can’t be faulted for and well Klaus did ‘reunite’ him with their family, just not how Elijah thought he would 😭. Also, now we know the cure to a werewolf bite: Klaus’ blood. Stefan may not be my favorite but watching him drink the blood to get the cure was hard. I just kept thinking how much more is Klaus going to make him drink.
This episode was packed. Klaus’ blood being the cure for the bite, Stefan’s sacrifice and becoming his ripaahhh self, the Damon and Elena kiss, Katherine caring enough to save Damon, Jeremy dying and being revived (but now sees his dead exes), enjoyed it all! I saw the Damon and Elena kiss as her way of saying goodbye and wanting him to end his life happy (kissed by the girl he loves). I think there was an understanding between them that it was so because he said, ‘thank you’ afterwards. Thank you for all the episodes this week. I hope you 3 get well soon! My top 5 at this point would be: 1. Damon 2. Katherine 3. Stefan (tied with Elijah) 4. Alaric 5. Bonnie
Klaus did indeed "reunite" Elijah with his family 😭 its funny because in the episode with rose and Trevor, Elijah promised roses freedom but he never specifically said anything about Trevor and killed him while still technically keeping his word. this is his karma.
I never really count this as the first Damon and Elena kiss just bc of the circumstances it happened under. It was a kiss just bc she cares for him, knows he loves her, and he was dying. Even Damon knew that which is why he thanked her. It was a sweet moment. You guys are funny trying to determine how passionate the kiss was 😂 “I need Damon and Elena to be together, for at least a season” lmao Kyle. I actually feel that Katherine and Stefan somehow have more chemistry than Elena and Stefan and then the opposite is true for Damon. Jeremy getting shot had me panicking, I was like no way are they taking away Elena’s brother one episode after taking away Jenna. Damon and Alaric’s friendship is great bc we watched them go from wanting to kill each other to caring about one another. Damon agreeing that it was best Alaric stay back after Bonnie spelled him in last episode and Alaric worried about Damon in this one.
I love how you guys broke down your opinions on the Stefan/Elena and the Damon/Elena dynamics. It was interesting to get your take on how you view each relationship and I agree with you guys that Damon and Elena connect better + the whole opposites thing brings out different aspects in both characters. I also just feel that they’re more blunt/honest with one another, Damon will call out Elena (like when he felt she manipulated him on the trip to research Isobel) and she calls out Damon’s ‘I don’t care’ attitude and challenges him. I love it bc we get sassy Elena moments lol. Not to knock down Stefan and Elena but I agree with Aqeel that it sometimes just seems superficial. I mean up until they were practically forced to talk about it bc of circumstances, they hadn’t even discussed Elena ever becoming a vampire. It seems short-sighted. Stefan broods a lot and Elena was grieving when she met him so I think that kinda connected them and they recognized that ‘sadness’ (for lack of a better word) in each other. I obviously have a preference but I do think that both brothers care about her and she cares about them, it’s just different dynamics.
yeah, my preference of elena/damon is because though there are similarities there is enough differences for them to grow together and keep things interesting like you said, when elena's parents died she was at a low and because of stefan's self-hatred they both could kind of brood together which is good for a time but i don't think it's what either of them needs in the long run stefan and elena both need someone to dial their energy/mood up in my opinion
I remember watching this for the first time when it aired and I was so mad they didn’t kill klaus. And now reactors are always conflicted because they have a million people drooling and obsessing over Klaus, katherine, Elijah which doesn’t make sense to them. And when we watched it we wanted those villains to die at first. That’s why I hate when people say they love them before they get to understand why
I do love the dirty poetry, that Damon got bit before the ritual happened. And after Klaus survived, his blood was the cure to a wolf's bite. Meaning if they were successful Damon would've died.

“She kisses him, but no tongue” it’s a rule for most actors to agree to not kiss with tongue on camera. You will almost never see tongue. But I agree with you guys, it didn’t seem like a kiss of love at all to me either. Friendly and sympathy

Damon (keeps me entertained, he’s complex, and he’s my favorite out of the guys) 3. Elijah (I love his calm demeanor and he has a really good introduction) 4.Alaric (I enjoy his relationship with the Gilbert’s and with Damon) 5.Rose (was there for a short while but I found her interesting and impactful) I won’t rank Klaus or include him since we haven’t seen much of him yet
i love the friendship between elena, caroline and bonnie and i feel like no one ever talks about it. they're so sweet together and they have such cute moments although honestly i feel like the friendship between bonnie and elena seems to be stronger than with caroline but they all love each other
To become a vampire you have to have vampire boold in your system when you die, caroline feeding jeremy blood while he was already dead to try and revive wouldn’t turn him😉 also vampires can’t comple other supernatural creatures (originals being the exception obviously) but witches and werewolves can’t be combelled.
39:05 I definitely agree with Aqeel. The kiss that happened btw Damon and Elena just happened because she really thought that those were his last moments on Earth.

Bonnie (she literally saved everyone's ass in this season and was much more powerful) 4. Stefan and Damon (their love for each other is unmatchable and out of the world) I can't rank them apart cause they are MADE FOR EACH OTHER dude 💛💙 5. Klaus (oof the Big Bad Wolf, his accent, his smirk and his entry was everything)
@@vhana57 Thanks for asking. It's hard to choose, I like so many characters but I would choose: Damon Katherine Elijah Bonnie Stefan I just need more from from Klaus and Alaric but enjoy their characters a lot. I have a feeling ripper Stefan is going to bring up Stefan.
i like both stelena and delena but i personally prefer damon and elena's dynamic. stefan and elena are very similar in a lot of ways, both very passive, compassionate, always worrying about others so even though they're cute together and they have sweet moments, i just feel like their relationship is somewhat lackluster for me. elena and damon are very different and they have a lot of chemistry and tension because their personalities kinda clash and to me they bring out the best in each other. damon brings out the fun side of elena and allows her to be free like that episode in season 1 where she just spent the whole day laughing and drinking with him, not worrying about anyone or anything, a rare sight we see from her. elena makes damon grounded without necessarily changing who he is and she also calls him out when needed, which i like. like i said, i like both but i personally like delena's dynamic better.
That’s how I feel about Delena, there was a lack of passion. I don’t ship either of them, but Stelena scenes felt more passionate and as if Paul and Nina had way better chemistry
To me, it seems odd that Damon was going to kill himself without any kind of goodbye to his brother. Like he just wanted to get Elena's forgiveness and then just die.
i didnt mind it here because damon had already seen stefan in the morning, saying goodbye to stefan would be way too difficult with a lot of baggage and damon couldnt allow himself to be vulnerable in front of stefan which is why he told elena to say sorry on his behalf SPOILERS.... damon not saying goodbye to stefan from the other side in season 5 finale was much more worse imo, he just said goodbye to elena saying that she was the best thing that happened to him in 173 years and completely disregarded his brother who had seen all sides of him, who had been with him from the beginning, he didnt even mention stefan ...i always felt every relationship fell apart once delena became canon...they were way too self absorbed for my taste as the toxic couples i like do give equal importance to their loved ones along with significant other...the dynamics were just better written when stelena were together..i mean i actually like delena when stelena were together lol

I kinda feel like Stefan would drop everything for Damon while Damon is willing to drop everything for Elena. At least in general so far. I want both brothers to choose each other first, then Elena. The only thing that can kill an Original is the white oak steak. The curse on the daggers that no supernatural can dagger them, doesn’t work on them. The ash on the dagger is what petrifies them, not the dagger itself.
This is my favorite season of TVD, so I want to point out some things you guys missed that I caught after watching it more than once: Sheriff Forbes, along with all the founding families children, was taught that vampires are monsters who have such a lust for blood that they can't control themselves around it, and that once a person becomes a vampire, the person is gone and the monster will pretend to be the person in order to get blood and protect their undead lives... and yet, she saw Caroline try to save Jeremy's life and Caroline comforted and protected her. So when Sheriff Forbes hugged Caroline, she was realizing this was her daughter and not a monster, and taking the first step towards trying to understand her daughter as a vampire. The witches warned Bonnie that there would be consequences for bringing Jeremy back to life, but they never said who would have the consequences. It's an old movie trope that a person who has died and been revived is the one who can see the ghosts in a horror movie, right? Klaus is a HYBRID, not a wampire! (Sorry, but that was irritating me) He has proven with everything he's done and everything we've learned about him that he is a master manipulator and beats Katherine for having everything planned and backups for the plans. Elijah is his brother and he knew Elijah's weakness was their family and believing that others would honor a deal too. So Klaus played Elijah by truthfully telling him that he would take Elijah to where they were - and he follow through by daggering Elijah and placing him in a coffin in the same place that the rest of his daggered family members were in their coffins. I don't think less of Elijah for that because you can see how carefully he looks at Klaus and saw that his brother was telling the truth. How could Elijah know that Klaus had the dagger? The last time he saw the dagger, Elena had it. Stefan first became a ripper when he killed the men and women in Mystic Falls who (he thought) were responsible for killing Katherine. And I can't remember what episode it was, but it was mentioned that one time when Stefan was on human blood he killed everyone in a village; that means men, women, and children. I believe the writers threw in the scene with Stefan and the women in his house as an homage to a similar scene in the movie Interview with the Vampire, but he does seem to prefer feeding on women when he's a ripper. Klaus said Stefan was no use to him as he was (civilized and on animal blood) and then Klaus forced Stefan to drink a LOT of human blood before he gave the cure to Katherine, and then he finished the job by getting Stefan to kill a human. Klaus obviously needs Ripper Stefan for whatever he's planning to do next... And yes, he knew Katherine was on vervain when he gave her the cure, that's why he told her to hurry, it was his own little joke about her running from him for so long. Personally, I think Klaus was curious which part of Katherine would win; her love for Stefan that would cause her to give Damon the cure, or her selfish sense of self-preservation that would cause her to run and to hell with anyone else. Damon's feverish memories of the past with Katherine were him finally completely accepting that loving Katherine was the wrong choice, and he was really responsible for both him and Stefan becoming vampires because that's what he wanted to be in order to be with Katherine forever. Damon admitting to Elena that he knew she loved and chose Stefan, but he wanted her to know that he loved her before he died was his way of finally choosing the right person. When Elena kissed Damon and told him she liked him the way he is now, she was acknowledging the bond they have without naming the emotion behind it because she couldn't yet. Lastly, and yes I know this has been extremely long, there is Katherine and Elena. We already know that doppelgangers are exact duplicates of each other, but their different experiences can affect their personalities in different ways too. However, Katherine was easily able to see that Elena loves both Stefan and Damon. That's why she admitted that she loved both of them too - something she had never admitted before. Elena can deceive herself that she only loves Damon as a friend, but she wouldn't have fought so hard to help him become a better person - even after he killed Jeremy - if he was just a friend. The proof lies in the fact that she didn't work that hard for Caroline, and they've been friends all their lives.
Liz's and Caroline's relationship from now on is an amazing mother daughter relationship. Jeremy came back from the dead. He can now see dead people. When you die a horrible death the witches release their power into the earth.
No okay so with the whole dagger thing klaus Elijah and the rest of their siblings can use the dagger on each other and not die because they are THE ORIGINAL vampires and the daggers don’t work on klaus bc they r made out of silver and klaus is part wolf which is y it doesn’t work now if a ordinary vampire like Stefan or Damon uses the dagger on the originals it would kill them does that make sense? You’ll understand more the farther u get
Hm I guess regarding “giving up everything including Elena”, I don’t think Stefan intended to skip town with Klaus lol. But idk what he thought Klaus was going to ask of him! It is true he started drinking blood in order to get the cure, though I have a hard time imagining Klaus would let him leave considering he immediately started scraping a stake against his heart before hearing what he wanted. Klaus certainly wouldn’t let him leave to say goodbye to Elena, whom he thought dead. As for the kiss, I’m a person who struggles with jealousy, and I can’t imagine being jealous of my romantic partner giving a DYING SIBLING a goodbye kiss like that.
Oh and yes I think she loved Damon and Stefan, based on her actions. I don’t think Katherine would have turned both of them if she didn’t. But she does seem to love Stefan more, perhaps because he’s harder to get. I liked Elena and Stefan’s relationship because it was normal lol, but I appear to be in the minority of viewers. They have a lot in common in terms of being compassionate and thoughtful individuals. Stefan is supportive and, at least initially, fairly wise. I thought the fact that he was a vampire was “excitement” enough, but I guess other fans would say I am thinking of it too realistically. XD Stefan sees in her the opposite of Katherine and a chance to start again. I’m not saying that’s not problematic, but it makes sense to me.
That’s not what it means, he gave up Elena bc giving himself over to Klaus meant him turning him into a monster aka what Elena hates which in turn would cause complications in their relationship like the risks of them separating/outgrowing each other, and he still made that choice bc his love for Damon is stronger than his love for Elena. That’s always been the theme if you payed attention to the show, Stefan always needed Damon more than he needed Elena.
Yeah lol the crow was too hard to keep around set and caused more problems than it did good the producers said. Any animals on set you can’t manipulate well obviously so it was just too difficult 😄

It was still shifty behavior lol I like Stefan and hated how he had to be a martyr for everyone that didn’t appreciate him…Maybe season 3 will make them understand his character 😊
Mayor Lockwood really wasn't coppell by anyone. She wanted to get a tight lead on that vampire situation in Mystic Falls but the sheriff was stalling because of her daughter Caroline and her friend Damon.

@@Anna-xi8hu SPOILERSSSSS whilst that's a big element, the show nor the books is 'just about the brothers' julie said that only because nina left and they had to rebrand it into something because elena was the main character the book author even said it's a love story between elena and damon it's literally about all three with most of the focus on elena as elena is the main protagonist in the book as well mostly written from her pov it's about her town, her friends/family/romantic interests, her school, her journey in learning about vampires, becoming one etc. and before you say it's just as much stefan's/damon's they ARE the main three but it is obviously elena's perspective any part of damon/stefan's story is told through flashbacks we didn't even know much about stefan/damon's family until later on, we didn't know his ripper side, we didn't know everything about vampirism we all LEARN this as elena learns this in THIS time period so whilst i do say stefan is a main and i get why you don't want him to be ignored i feel like i have to clarify elena is the main because somehow people act like she isn't just because they don't like her but just like you don't seem to like elena, they don't seem to like stefan as much and that's okay you don't have to like a character because they are more major i don't like stefan in season one because he's very hypocritical when it comes to damon and everything and that's okay i don't really like katherine either after this season because she went from being badass self/confident to being so jealous of elena it became her personality trait when she could have easily started a life on her own for the first time instead of jacking elena's but even so, it's also okay for people not to like a character because they feel something is lacking though stefan's writing is amazing in season 3, he doesn't shine as much in some other seasons and i don't see why it's a problem your fave isn't theres i've watched reactions where people hate elena and that's their opinion and if it gets too much i just stop watching they don't even hate him he's just not their fave so if you don't like don't watch??? everyone is obviously going to have their own opinions on characters
That kiss was definitely a mercy kiss. I knew by Stefan leaving it would definitely be the start of the Damon and Elena romance. I prefer her with Stefan. He’s just a good guy. Damon is too hot headed and emotional. And yeah i agree with Kyle there’s a spell for everything. It’s getting too repetitive. I was annoyed like damn the witches can do anything. They give them too much power. If they wanna take over the world they can.
