They keep saying she's afraid of the guilt but I don't think that's why she won't turn her humanity back on, I think it's because she's afraid of her grief. Elena has had to grieve practically her whole life, because of her parents, Jenna, Alaric, every time her friends die, and now she's lost Jeremy. She doesn't want to grieve anymore. She doesn't want to feel loss anymore. Completely understandable. Though it's good to have her emotions back on. Because she needs that grief to continue healing.
This episode was so good! That whole scene with Damon getting Elena to turn her humanity back on was so intense. Honestly that plan was so brilliant. Damon made sure the only two people that knew about it were him and Matt, to make it look as realistic as possible. Stefan didn’t even know.
I don’t think Stefan thought that Damon was actually going to snap Matt’s neck, until he did it, and then immediately thought there was something going on. Cause he probably figured after it happened that Damon wouldn’t just do that without some sort of catch.
The fact that everyone looked shook. It’s cause we truly never know with Damon like he literally could have done it without the ring no matter if she forgave him or not. “That’s emotion Elena. That’s humanity” - Damon being the one to explain it to her is important since he’s the one who seemingly hates humanity, he brought her back, and Stefan focused her. She needed both of them to bring her back to life post her parents death, and then her own.
The Elena torture scenes... I feel like everyone who tried to help her, through torture or talking, ended up getting emotionally tortured by Elena. As an emotionless vampire, she seems to have gained the uncanny ability to be incredibly perceptive as to the true feelings of others instead of being concerned with herself
Silas’s strongest weapon is his ability to cast illusions. Why would he not use it? Also I think you’re underestimating just how unnerving the fact that he can appears anyone is to the characters. Did you see how unglued Klaus was because he was so scared that Silas could appear as anyone at any time and make him see anything he wanted him to? That’s what makes him so scary.
The writing in this season was top tier. Damon's move with the ring and matt was top tier. Especially because the rings hadn't held significance since Jeremy became a hunter.
i mean, they made baby vampire caroline beat damon just because she was angry 1v1 for some reason so anything is possible and i'm not saying it can't happen because elena and anyone can beat anybody if they have the right strategy no matter power levels but a pure 1v1 like damon and caroline had? LOL that being said, elena learning some hunter abilities as a human does give her a better edge compared to most baby vampires
@@nightfrost1891 yea but anger doesn't make a vampire stronger than another. It just makes them more focused on how to beat them like caroline knew she couldn't beat damon hand to hand. But every vampire can get their joints broken no matter how strong they are.
Okay so in season 3 episode 5 Klaus compels Stefan to turn it off. In season 3 episode 15 after Damon kills Abby he asked Stefan when was the last time he had human blood and Stefan says the night he threatened to drive Elena off the wickery bridge, that was episode 11. So Stefan had his humanity off essentially from episode 5 to episode 11 because stopping drinking human blood is basically my understanding of compassion and humanity. So if "Rebecca just compelled Elena's emotions off", there is no guarantee that that will long term do anything. the only thing that makes people not turn it off is choosing to have it on. therefore it has to be Elena's choice or else once she has it on she's not in the headspace where she has any reason not to make the conscious decision to turn it off again. Because that's what she wants! She has to want to feel, and they know behind the wall of all the shit that she's not feeling, Elana doesn't like the person she is with her humanity off, and therefore would not consciously choose to go back off now that she's experienced it. When she doesn't choose, she's not gotten to the point where hating no-humanity Elana is more than how buried she is in all the shit that made her take her humanity off. I think I like thus season so much better, maybe because I know it. I'm much more familiar with the show. I've seen it at least seven times. And it just, I love a fresh reaction, but find it incredibly frustrating when people watching things for the first time don't have the perspective enough to remember things that they have already been told!
The cure was basically made for cylus he was meant to take it and quetsiha or how ever you spell it made the cure for him and was waiting on the other side for 2 thousand years to take it lol 😆
The fact that it was Damon who snapped Matt's neck made it so much better, beacause he could have killed him for real, whether his switch was turned on, or off. That is what I love about his character. If it was Stephan (switched on), we would have already guessed that there was no way that he would have killed Matt.
When a bad guy asks you something, you usually tend to resist them because for them to get the information they want would be dangerous ( it’s like an interrogation) « no, i won’t tell you anything ! » but if he shows up as a friend, the person might actually confide in that person and tell them the truth . In the episode, Caroline really didn’t know where bonnie was, but silas Wanted to be sure…
Even caroline is stronger than elena, and she's only a couple years ahead. Katherine was born in 1472 and turned in the 90's. I do not want to imagine a fight between elena and her.
PLEASE REACT TO THE ORIGINALS AFTER SEASON 4 OF TVD IS FINISHED. THERE WONT BE ANY SPOILERS AFTER THIS SEASON AND IF YOU DO START AFTER SEASON FOUR THAN THE SHOWS SHOULD LINK TOGETHER AND HAVE SOME CROSSOVER EPISODES
@@Ts-lz1gj actually i really like both of this shows but originals has less drama it is more about family and i really love it . But yeah the characters dovelopment in the vampire diares is amazing
@@iKlaus0 Originals is good only upto season 3 only. Season 4 and 5 were not that good. Originals is better family drama. Vampire Diaries on the other hand had better character developments, romance, friendships and entertainment value ( except for season 5,7 and 8).
Don’t get why Silas made Caroline suffer. How is she supposed to find Bonnie if he won’t give her a chance to? Lol So glad Elena is finally back. I was so shocked about Matt.
