Can we talk about that Liv and Tyler scene. Damn, that was heartbreaking.

Losing Nina/Elena was the worst thing that destroyed me emotionally on this damn show. I loved Elena so much.

This episode was heartbreaking. One of my favorite things is that despite Damon telling Elena that she could’ve told him what to do, she doesn’t bc she knows he’ll do the right thing. They know each other so well and despite him calling himself selfish and others thinking he is as well, she knows that he’s truly not and didn’t doubt him for a second. He can wait some years to be with her, her life isn’t at risk. This isn’t life or death for Elena but if he kills Bonnie then that’s it, she’s gone and it’s not something that Elena would ever be okay with either. Both can live but not simultaneously and it shows growth that Damon understands that.

Everyone here are wrong. The reason Nina left TVD is that she always thought of Elena's journey as a "6 seasons" journey. She said so in her goodbye post on Instagram when she told us she was going to leave TVD :)

Ric alone with Jo's body is heartbreaking. So much going on, nobody can be there with him. Elena's goodbye moments with all of them was so heartbreaking too, but still very beaitufil.

Everybody saying that Season 7 is worst but honestly speaking, it's not that bad. I watched it recently, and I enjoyed it, more than season 5 especially because of defan and bamon moments.

I don't get why so many people don't like or even hate s7 or s8 and says the shows went downhill from here. Those two seasons aren't my fav tvd seasons, but they are not that bad. Season 7 is kinda chaotic, especially first half but I like the storyline in it million times more than the travelers one for example. And season 8, as the last one, has extra bits of nostalgia and references to prior seasons. It's not the best TVD season, true, but still is really good and in my opinion is great as a finale season.

I can’t breatheeee when I watch this episode... Literally every aspect is thrown at us😭

This is one of the saddest, yet one of my favorite finales. That Delena dance scene always breaks my heart. Damon saving Bonnie was incredible though. Kai is such a savage villain, but that’s why he’s great! Alaric has been through so much. I just wanted him and Jo to be happy 😭 I know some people say the last two seasons are the worst, but I don’t really agree. Season 7 is sort of on the level of season 5 for me. Not my favorite, but still really enjoyable. I actually really love season 8. The series finale is one of the best finales to any show that I’ve watched as well. This next season in particular definitely has a different feel to it, and it does take awhile to get used to Elena not being there. But, there’s a ton of amazing Defan, Steroline, and Bamon moments. They really focus a lot on the other relationships in the show. There’s also a ton of amazing character moments. So, I’d go into the last two seasons with an open mind. You’re in the final stretch of the show, and things are going to change.

Here it is, last season for Nina and Steven. Tvd was never the same from here, but there will be some great episodes and epic moments for you.

Wow that still is heartbreaking. This is the end of TVD to me. I watched the next two seasons of course, but being a delena shipper, never was the same. SPOILER I have to say I LOVED bamon friendship and benzo, just as much as I loved klauss and the original family at a time, but without elena and delena was never the same to me.

This season was awesome, every one of the 22 episodes. This one, it may have had other people playing roles in it, but this was Elena's episode. Her goodbye, her farewell, her see you later. We may have hated her for being a tad selfish at times, but there's no denying Vampire Diaries would not have been this talked about without this character and this honestly, godly actress. What a season, and even if she's not there anymore, Vampire Diaries goes on with, in my opinion, two very, very good seasons. Also, the emotions you had this episode, multiply that by 10 for the Season 8 finale. And also a farewell to Tyler and Jeremy as well.

everybody's worrying and crying about poor elena being so called dead and I'm over here CRYING and YELLING "HELP ALARICK is nobody gonna check on Jo?!?!?" 😭😭😭 I didn't care about elena at all(sorry not sorry💀after watching tvd many times ofc)but I'm crying over ALARIC and JO x TYLER AND LIV to this day😭they deserved way better than this, alaric and tyler lost everything and when they found love again....

I can put up with all the emotional stuff this series throws at us...deaths...breakups...reunions...more breakups (lol!)...and I'm dry eyed. The ONE scene that I can't do (and I'm now on my 3rd time watching TVD) is the scene where Elena says goodbye to Caroline and Bonnie! I bawl my eyes out like a little child!

On my top 10 list of saddest tvd episodes this is the second place. I cry everytime I watch the episode at some point. The first time I watched it I did cry through almost the whole thing, too. I think I'm never really ready to watch this episode. Obviously the big thing was Elena etc. but also how Alaric lost Jo there was extremly sad. I do think of this episode every single time when Damon says he would gladly let Bonnie die etc. in the earlier seasons. Since you asked: yes this is when Nina decided to not renew her contract that she had. She had a 6 season contract (like I think most of them) and she decided it was time to move on. Almost everyone who watched the show at the time new about that and even though we were prepared it was still super sad, it was the end of an era after all. The episode really felt like not just goodbye to Elena, but also a goodbye to Nina. I think they did it really well.

Everyone blames storyline revolving over Elena but after she left TVD went even worse.. i think they should have ended TVD in this season for sure.. next two seasons baggage for everyone.. whoever watched.. & introducing more new characters at this time is worst idea ever that writers decided.. i will say im talking about Heratics lily family... i will appreciate Originals ended at right time.. before anyone says its kind of stretching. because TVD got stretched alot.. from this point..

liv and tyler are so underrated! tyler had it worse, he actually had to kill the person he loves to survive😭in order to survive he triggers the werewolf curse AGAIN! both actors did amazing job

I like season 7 and 8. The storyline and the chance for other characters to get more screen time. I love it. And I always enjoy both seasons.

I enjoyed ssn 7 because there was less Elena. (Side note: I loved Nina as Katherine, and both her and Paul had a lot of double work with the doppelganger arcs, amd she was great. But I didn't like Elena the character.) Lord knows the writers wouldn't get her name out of Bamon's mouth every time they stepped into a room together. That's the cold bucket water they'd use to try and erase the chemistry between them...that and CONSTANTLY REPEATING "best friends" a million times as if trying to make sure Bamon fans know to ignore their chemistry because she'll never let it happen. The idea on the season was a fresh take on the show because other characters that were usually by the waste side got to have a little shine. The interaction between the characters were spread out more. Most importantly, Bonnie got more air time. I was so burnt out on the triangle drama. A lot of people were. Mostly when anyone tells you the show went down hill after season 6, I believe is untrue. I think those were the Delena fans that didn't have their couple to watch together after this one. Since season 5 people were complaining of the same old repetitious things with the same people. That's why they finally gave the fans some Bamon time like a dangled carrot because they needed the views back. I will agree about ssn 8 though. It was rushed and it was trash. There were character assassinations to benefit an agenda that the writers were fanfic writing for, instead of doing it organically right. The majority of the fandom was asking for better story arcs and connections that made sense. They ignored it all and came out with some stuff that made no sense or could have been avoided had they structured the plots better.

Also Liv and Tyler i love em. Liv saved Tyler before when he crashed into tht Whitmore fair and took the life of the guy tht was hurt so Tyler wouldn't turn. And then here when she tells him to kill her so he will turn and heal. I love her. She rly loved him that much.💖

Nina Dobrev (Elena) decided to leave the show after season 6 so they had to write her off this way. This season 6 finale is so heartbreaking but it is also one of my favorites. my heart hurts :(

Elena is gone for the next 2 seasons. She will only make a comeback in the finale of the last season. The actress that plays Elena left the show because she had a real life relationship with Damons actor and he got married in real life and she was jealous as fuck. I think it was a very selfish move if you ask me. She could had asked the show to get a 1, 2 year break until she was no longer jealous.
