I don't like Nadia as a character or the whole mom-daughter plot, but the moment when she realizes that when Katherine was talking about being forgiven she actually meant Stefan it's just sad. Made me feel bad for her.

It makes perfect sense Elena's Dad worked with Augustine. He was part of the council and they hated vampires. Had Elena never met Stef she more than likely would have followed her father into the Augustine society. Vampire are murders and Elena would want to save the world from them.

I hate that moment, but in the same time I understand why Damon felt the need to do that. He don't believe he can be good or saved/redeemed and thinks that he is not enough for Elena, not worthy her love, that she deserve better, someone better and is a bad influence for her etc... He def has not enough self-esteem and what Enzo said in this episode really destabilized him, so he thought that sacrificing his own happiness and letting Elena go would be the right choice for her. . Btw I know that Elena loves him, but I didn't like how she said that she made a choice and now she stands by her choices. It didn't sound right. I don't know how to explain it.

"those vampires can be innocent as well" Name a vampire who survived more than 24 hours after their transition who isn't a murderer. Name me one who survived several years who isn't a serial murderer. And the ones who don't kill, they still feed on people, steal blood bags, mind control people, and live without general regard for anything but their own selfish existences. Like how is it possible for somebody to watch this show and buy the idea of "good vampires"?
