@@georgiabigfoot Ten-4, will do. During a visit to The Varsity about 20 years ago, I saw employees cleaning the dining areas with supplies from boxes labeled "Marzetti Original Coleslaw Dressing." I've always wondered if that was the secret.
@@RealBigBadJohnwait!! Hold the phone. Are you serious ? That’s a great lead. I think it’s extremely possible it’s the marzetti coleslaw dressing and possibly even additionally mixed with a mayonnaise, likely Dukes. Now Dukes does have 2 versions. Regular mayo and a “heavy duty” mayo which is a great thick base, check out my review of it. I’ll investigate marzetti and get back with you, Duke’s Heavy Duty Mayonnaise Ranch Recipe ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_14OX7PxD04.html
@@RealBigBadJohnI’ve done some poking around tonight and appears marzetti makes an “original cole slaw dressing” and a “southern style cole slaw dressing”. It’s of note you remember specifically seeing “original”. Looks like it can be had on Amazon. I’m willing the bet they mixed it with mayo, likely dukes. Possibly without mayo, but we will know as soon as we get our hands on some. Have you ever seen marzetti original slaw dressing anywhere?
@@georgiabigfoot Yes, I buy Marzetti Original at Walmart and Publix all the time. It's available in refrigerated and shelf-stable versions. I never knew they made a Southern-style slaw dressing. I'll have to look for it.
@@gallardo360 so Vanee foods is making the varsity chili canned product sold at the counter. What do you mean Cfa makes the varsity’s chili ? Like at their Cfa commissary?
@@gallardo360 excellent. This is a great tip. We’re closing in on some varsity items. For decades I have tinkered with their onion ring recipe, so close, yet always off on something. 2 months ago I was at the kennesaw varsity having lunch when a US Foods truck pulled up making deliveries and wheeled in 25 giant boxes of plain croutons. Big 3 ft x 3 ft crouton boxes. I mentioned this to a chef friend familiar with the varsity and their opinion is they could be crushed for onion ring batter. Any thoughts ?
