@@jamesmathews1841 yes with the technology of today it’s so much easier to play what you want when you want it. Think of the World War Two generation. 1965 certainly was a amazing 😻 time for music 🎼. The Beatles,Stones, Bob Dylan, had several songs going up the charts. What Bob Dylan sang was true because “Times are a Changin” of course they were. Those were the times of good music. The music of 1965 didn’t have profanity in them like nowadays, because the other day I heard kids singing a song with cus words in it and they didn’t care they were out in public. Some of those songs are demeaning to women. The songs of 1965 doesn’t have those type of lyrics in their songs. That was the time of good 👍 clean 🧼 music 🎼. We know those times aren’t coming back, and thanks for sharing these wonderful songs with us.

Listening to this list was just like snapping on the car radio to AM once again. FM was just getting started but the car was too old for such a thing. Our parents were still listening to Bing Crosby, Ed Ames, the instrumentals on the old console radio/record player that took up half the living room. We had our transistor 9 volt radios and ear plugs to listen to our stuff. Good times! Best of times. I have always analyzed that things for us was really good then the Viet Nam war happened and everything changed and not for the better. But, through it all, music was there to keep us company. It is a shame that these newer generations will never experience the innocent, fun times we had as kids. I still cherish the music of the late 50's, 60's and 70's.

Some excellent choices, especially "Eve of destruction", which was my favourite record of that year😂. The Kinks " See my Friends", The Rainbows "Balla Balla", The Lords " Poor Boy", some Yardbirds, Small Faces or Spencer Davis would have fitted in nicely or?

Cool l was born in Jan. 1960 ! I wouldn't trade my life growing up during the 1960's for any other time. From black and white to color, rock n roll into the Beatles and then... the 70's, what else can be said. You could see the music and hear the colors it was fabulous. 🌎☮️❤️

Oh, my word what a year. such a variety of wonderful songs, from Roger Miller's 50s-style "King Of The Road" to peak Beatles with the wonderful "I Feel Fine", and everything in between, and they nearly all still sound great today.

07.19.2024 I was thinking #1 would be Lulu's "To Sir With Love"; but looked up & see it was released 2 years later in 1967. I love how the bands; especially the Motown bands, such as The Four Tops or The Temptations, etc mostly dressed alike & so stylish & had the same movements/gestures. So cool. 👊

That's so funny that Downtown is no. 1! It was one of only about three of four songs from the mid-60s that stuck in my head when I was in the car at around age 5 (probably on vacation). I loved it then, love it now! -- Though I love the Beatles infinitely more! ;)
