RU-vid has been one of the biggest places i ever learned how to do stuff. Building and growing stuff. And what he said about not being able to buy good food, but waste our money on many other luxury's. That is what many people do. Buying stuff that we really don't need. Because we get bored.
47:18 - "One of the most subversive things we can do in our culture is to not make any money" - Joel Salatin. I resemble this comment :) Thank you so very much for sharing this. I can't write off trips to conferences. Yet.
Joel loved listen to you speak. Me and my parents have been talking about moving to Lancaster County, PA for a couple of years. Sadly my dad passed this past November. Me and my mom are still planning on moving. Mom is legally blind so I moved back home to take care of her since my dad passed away. I was hoping to buy some acres to have a homestead / farm. I want to try to stay at home as much as possible to take care of my mom. When I was little my Grandpop let me have a tomato garden at his house. One of my best memories growing up.
I’m from just North of Lancaster, near Reading. I shop almost entirely in Lancaster, farm stores and stands. I like to give my money as close to the grower as I can.
Truly hope I get to meet this man one day and just shake his hand and say thank you for all you have done. He is such an inspiration and a pioneer. Thank you very much for posting this.
This whole country needs to have a local full production community co-op food source, based on Joel's principles and other permaculture practices. We need to be holistic.
Haha the Lehmann Lady is like, yeah I'll read whatever, just buy my stuff and I don't really know or care what your talking about. Haha Joel is awesome tho
