🤭 probably had some great tasting food though. Ain't no dang possible roaches gonna bother me. Go Savage on that food and share with the roach. I Would have. With a big smile. If you ain't smiling in Mcghetto then GTFO chief lol
I think Lamont should ask if the mystery machine is for sale. Lamont needs a van and can you picture him driving around in the mystery machine? That would be beyond awesome!! Lol
I want the styrofoam back. It actually did something to keep your order hot while you were on your way home. Styrofoam packaging was the only reason why the McDLT concept actually worked. The oblong container that was divided in the middle kept the hot side hot and the cool side cool. Styrofoam drink cups though? No thanks. LOL Every now and then, I'd get one of the coffee cups that would spring a leak after about 10 minutes or so. Who hasn't had one of those!?!? It wasn't always a full on leak though. Sometimes it was just seepage. Not much better though, because either way, I still want my coffee to stay on the inside of the cup until I tell it otherwise.
@@anthonylong5870 There were specific places that had 1c machines but most were not. When I was a kid it was a nickel but quickly it rose to a quarter to equal arcade games of the era. Long after that a 1c horse ride existed at Walmart I think for a bit.
The whole of San Bernadino is the ghetto. I went to visit the grave of Randy Rhoads and I pulled into the long john silvers and was surrounded by homeless people.
What’s even more crazy my first job in 1991 bagging groceries at krogers I made 4.25 an hr, and I was happy as hell too…Have really hard time with that kinda $ now, I’d be at end of your off ramp asking for $ with my dog, and I have no dog..;)
I lasted all of 2 weeks standing over a grill the entire shift flipping patties or frying eggs in those little circles. Worked cashier at Del Taco all through H.S. instead.
I remember when they use to put those toys in the McDonald's happy meal, i remember when they would put little sm barbie dolls in the girl's happy meal each week they would put a new one in them, its a shame how they got rid of all that good stuff, will never understand why
Shrinkflation, which is just a new word for Greed. The thing that confuses me the most about greed is how much do you really actually need???? Seriously how much? I guess it makes sense from a lovebombing perspective. They suck you in completely then they don’t have to do anything for you ever again, you’re already hooked. RIP Happy Meal Toys 😭
This museum is awesome. I like the old McDonald's items. I remember the styrofoam containers from the Big Mac. Thanks for showing the toys and the nice close up of hello kitty.
The world was a very different place 50 years ago. Enjoying your road travel vlogs. Stay safe. That hamburger with the bars used to be at every McCrappys! Absolutely remember hamburger jail!!!
From what I’ve been told, San Bernardino faced a huge economic decline after the closure of the nearby Air Force base in the 90s. Lots of business closed and all the wealthier people moved out.
They can’t because it’s the only McDonald that wasn’t actually owned by McDonalds. It was owned by the original founders and the only one exempt from being taken over by Big McDonald’s.
Surprised they don't! I know theat it looked ghetto af outside. But inside was clean and organized! I bet the people who see the inside would def eat there.
The idea that Styrofoam was bad because it doesn't break down in landfills, well guess what? *Nothing* breaks down in landfills because there's no oxygen! Even paper doesn't break down in landfills! So those paper containers you get at McDonald's? They don't break down either!
The only connection with McDonald's and the Looney Tune characters I can think of is they were the toy that came in your happy meal back in the day and if you have any of them today they're worth a good amount! Actually all the original toys or worth money. How many are old enough to remember the little aluminum ashtrays on the tables inside?
I remember! And the brown glass ones they had before that, too! I remember when I first started smoking (I have since quit), sitting in the smoking section of an Arby's after school, bumming cigarettes from my friends, lol!
It's not that bad. It's been this way. News and social media is promoting it more often now. I grew up in poverty and nothing has changed but social media.
When Marxists pretend to be democrats and Republicans play along for the spoils. Thousands of foreigners have flooded into the USA in the past 3 years alone, while the cost for existing Americans has tripled in the past 2 decades 9:17
The driveway says Rest in Peace Jessie and Freddie. They both died in that house fire. Google Alfred Murillo San Bernardino House Fire 11/28/23 for the full story.
Corrupt politicians, city council board members and all of it have reduced that city to a waste land. They still haven't learned since they filed for bankruptcy. The city in general, has a lot of history. Sad that bad actors have reduced it to a pile of overflowing turd in a portapotty.
This was a cool video. McDonald’s always had a way of pulling in customers. When I was a kid in the 70s I still remember the light blue styrofoam containers the fish fillet came in. As a Hot Wheels collector it’s always neat to find happy meal cars and those Stomper trucks because a lot of them were exclusive to McDonald’s.
I remember those hamburger igloo tunnel things! I remember hiding in them, when I was playing in the play area at my childhood McDonald's. I even remember what they smelled like inside, lol. Because of all the sweaty kids that crawled through them, and of course being at McDonald's, they always smelled like fries and feet inside, LMAO! I remember the hamburger jail, too. The character's name was Officer Bigmac, IIRC. And that Hamburgler bust you passed just outside of the entrance would've been part of a swingset-his (missing) outstretched arms would have held the swings. I remember the Fry Kids rocker/bouncer ride-on thingie, too. Yes, I remember the styrofoam. I remember having a birthday party at McDonald's once, as a little kid, and one of the games was to see who could stack the most styrofoam burger boxes. (It's harder than it sounds, especially considering styrofoam holds a static charge, lol.) I remember when smoking was allowed in places like McDonald's. And yes, I would DEFINTELY agree that McDonald's toys have gone down in quality. WAY down. Like everything else, to be as cheap as possible, so the bigwigs squeeze out every penny of profit they can. Gotta buy that third yacht, you know. 🙄 Anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane, Lamont. AWESOME video! PS-I want that Mystery Machine, lol!!
Funny thing about breakfast all day. They put a sign out front of my nearest mcdonalds about the breakfast all day. My sister got into a car accident because she was so into the sign and thinking, "Oh, wow, breakfast all day. 🤩Boom. Crash." She's okay. The car... mmm no.
That whole area is bad. But it’s getting better because all the other counties got too expensive and if you have to live in California and you can’t afford it, you go there. Ask me how I know. I left 20 years ago. Western San Bernardino county is as good as it gets and it’s not bad. It’s actually pretty nice.
I moved from San Bernardino 5 years ago. The guy that owns that museum owns the Juan Pollo rotisserie chicken franchise in California. A lot of the items in that parking lot are things that he had in his restaurants. That neighborhood has seen better days. I would try to avoid driving that way as much as possible. I miss the food in Cali but I don't miss seeing that. The city was never the same once they closed Norton military base because the businesses left when the base did.
I really liked this video. One of the best n Lamont always keeps it simple. I didn’t know this museum was in the ghetto either but I remember the movie the Founder.
I think this was the Mac Donald’s my parents to. At the time we lived near the Space Base where our dad worked for years with the Air Force. My mother was a very picky eater & refused to eat after my father had ordered burgers for the whole family,he got mad because she wouldn’t give a reason for ordering food & the not wanting it. I found out much lather mom saw the fry cook touch his acne chin & it made her loose her appetite. But she was very tightly wound, didn’t like food unless she or me cooked it.
Wasn't the story that once the McDonald brothers sold the company to Ray Croc, he then opened a McDonalds across the street from them and ran them out of business?
I see you've disabled comments on your latest LOTR vid, the 10 year old shooting her neighbor. Just a friendly bit of advise Lamont, that's not a good look. There are too many avenues of speech being restricted already.
Great video Lamont and if anyone hasn't seen it I'd highly recommend the movie, 'The Founder '. The movie does a great job of describing McDonald's history and goes over from the humble beginnings to the huge juggernaut McDonald's had become.
I helped looking for a missing child and we Found her Safe and Sound i feel sad for the single moms for there family situation i hope to be a Dad some day
I live in Springfield Ohio. I’m 75 years old. I worked at McDonald’s in Springfield Ohio hamburgers for $.15 fries for $.15 so that shows you how it’s changed and the food was much better than.
This is what tolerance and diversity does wherever it is. There is no other outcome possible. Words will never defeat evil. Cowardice is not the answer.
I was born in California and lived at one time in North Hollywood and my grandparents lived in Panorama City…they bought their home brand new there….now that was YEARS ago I’m 63 lol and moved to Hollywood FL when I was 10…..would never live in LA area again 😂
What the hell happened to San Bernardo is shitty corrupt leadership. Any town or community can be a beautiful place to live with the right leadership. Love ya muah 😘
A couple friends of mine were chosen to help paint the mural on this establishment back in highschool. It was beautiful and attracted a lot of attention and business for a while (2011-2012)
I was lucky enough to go to the San Bernardino location while driving from Las Vegas to San Diego back in early '90s. Food and service was good. Did notice the area seemed a bit run down, but not like what I'm seeing on this video.
California Law Enforcement Officials publicly said not to your lock your car, so the thief won't have to break your windows....The entire state is upside down when it comes to crime prevention and enforcement.
