This week see's my first attempt at building a scratch built vicarage. using bits and pieces left over from building various Metcalfe kits, windows and doors etc. with mixed results and a few mistakes along the way but the building turned out ok and looks the part in its new surroundings. with a plan in mind the fun begins..........

To dim the archway light put a bit of a orange Quality Street sweet wrapper over it. Great scratch build Tony.

I don't think my vicar, his wife and four kids would quite fit in that Vicarage, but hey! Nice building, clever reuse of the spare parts, and sets off the Church nicely. Great save with the damp-proof course, works really well, even improves the look. Good contrast with the red brick elsewhere in the local street-scape. But you should have done a little more stained glass detail on your front bays!

Hi Chazzy. to true its a small building for a small gap. i could have put heeps more detail into it. if i did i would probably still be working on it now 2 years later. lol. thank you for commenting as always cheer's Tony

Very inspirational once again Tony. And with the interesting features like porch and gable ends, it makes the house good to look at. Thanks for taking the trouble to make this video for us. Gary

That is a smashing building and very much like the design, well done and very fitting; now I know what to do with my accumulating Metcalfe leftovers. On your space issues I use Xmas tree micro dot LED lights to light up mine, hot glue them in place and tack the fine copper wires in too, easy to conceal. I terminate to 0.5 sqmm PVC cables and extend these under the baseboard using a series dropper resistor there for each building, that way I can adjust the brightness for each by altering the resistor to suit. Then run off a 5V USB PSU which are a cheap and plentiful which keeps resistor wattages low!

Cheers Steve, like the idea of using micro dot leds. thank you for that. they may come in very useful. many thanks for commenting Tony

Hi ken, well you make a sketch or drawing, photos of a particular building would help. using a figure as a guide for demensions. and away you go. it sounds easy but if you take your time, you can achieve the structure your looking to build, thanks again Tony

The brightness in the church entrance might be the Angel Gabriel - but probably not.

Tony greetings....excellent bit of scratch building ... well done and well worth the effort :) Noticed the resistors on the leds, have you looked at RS Components they do quite a lot of different voltage leds so you may not need the resistors. I have used RS quite a loy recently and they are very good ... hth ... cheers ... steve

You have really created a wonderful scene and added so much to an otherwise somewhat mundane model of a church. Great craftsmanship as well. Are you going to furnish the inside of the house? Rob
@TONYNORTHEASTERN

Thank you Rob as its right on the edge of the baseboards and in full view I may add a floor. I'm not sure about furniture as its so tiny to build who knows. thanks again Rob......Top Comment regards Tony

FYI: 1st drawing u showed was an ELEVATION, not a "plan"; 2nd drawing WAS a "plan", or "plan view". Not to nitpick, but I'd have had nightmare re my drafting teacher if I hadn't made this note!
