There was 2 Xmen VHS tapes in black slip cases that were part of an Xmen promotion at Pizza Hut. Thats what that banner is for. I think they came with a mini comic book and a trading card with each VHS.
Once again, it's a great video. The Pizza Hut promotion was with every pizza you got, an X-MEN video, a mini comic, a poster, and a trading card. Keep up the fantastic work ❤
I have a xmen POG set from the 90's from a mail away promotion from hi-c juice I believe they are uncut as well I have had them in storage for a long time lol still in the original envelope.
I had it all as a kid and miss it so much... im mad he didn't realize those were posted outside of pizza hut. My mom hated taking me every week till I had them all!
The x-men banner is sick as hell. Pizza Hut had 3 exclusive vhs tapes that had episodes that would have like 10-15 minute panel discussions with Chris Claremont and Stan Lee before they'd play the episodes. It was really cool stuff. I believe someone put the stan lee and claremont openings on youtube for people to watch who never got to see them :)
Funfact: In the US you got 3 or 4 SNeS Big Boxes here in Germany we have 9 or 10 Secret of mana, secret of evermore, illusion of Time, mystic Quest, mario paint , Terranigma, Lufia , metroid, chrono Trigger
I think the X Men banner from Pizza Hut sold the X Men animated series video tapes and maybe I can't remember if they gave away pizza hut exclusive X Men comics. I know both was a promotional thing for both Marvel and Pizza Hut
its obvious they chose Cyclops since he had all the colors that match the X-Men logo, unlike wolverine or Gambit. I think it was a perfect choice! Great find! Also awesome trade you had today. I just scored a perfect Sega Dreamcast CIB, with mint box with absolutely no fraying for $150 with a bunch of games and 3 VMUs!
Epic episode!!. GO GO snow banger channel. so much good stuff them find well deserved a subscribe !!! Been following them since beginning and them find some rill good stuff
That X-men banner reveal was really awesome. I loved Cyclops back when the original 90's X-men cartoon came out back in the day, but Beast was always my favorite. For super hero teams, I was always a sucker for the nerdy, "smartest guy in the room" type of character. Add to that and that Beast was not only the brains of the team but their biggest "muscle", and of course he'd be a fan favorite. Speaking of banners, you guys ever think you'll sell those Pokemon banners? The Fire Red or Yellow banners? Those I'd be interested in picking up if they were priced right. You guys got a great trade today, too. That Robb Nintendo edition is just too sweet and something all collectors should shoot for to get one day.
i've been watching you since you started the $10 collection. What a journey, my brother I'm from Boston Massachusetts this summer I'm making it down to your store driving down. I love the feel it's so retro. I'm probably gonna venture to the game store myself pretty soon. keep making videos Brother love it.
In the early-mid 90’s, fast food chains promoted marvel, sega and nintendo products to of course boost sales. Some common franchises that i remember were Roy Rogers (xmen), quaker oats (sonic the hedgehog) and Mcdonalds happy meals (Nintendo)
Sonic LE has the whole game, but Hollywood Video didn't rent VMUs, so completing the game blind was a challenge...especially since the first run of DCs could overheat.
Love the channel and love the video I will say it did make me laugh when Rick went for a high five, but played it off smooth with gogo sno since he did not reciprocate with a high five
The poster was likely promoting the X-men vhs tapes, which Pizzahut did two vhs tapes which was night of the sentinels, and the other introduced Magneto and Sabertooth.
Pizza hut did a promotion in early 90s for X-Men, that poster was advertising this. As part of the promotion with your order you received 1 of 2 X-Men VHS tapes. Each tape covered an episode (the one where the x-men believed morph was killed, and i believe the other episode was magneto trying launch ballistic missiles). With the VHS tapes came 1 of 2 trading cards (picture of how xmen looked originally, the other was magneto and xavier facing off). Also came with comic book as well, i don’t remember much about the comic books. I believe i have the trading cards and VHS tapes still at my mothers house (hopefully)
If you watch Toy Federation you'll see the special X-Men cards, kids cup, Pizza box, and place mat that they recreated for retro toy con.The banner is from the actual event that they were trying recreate. And Gambit all day!
Pizza hut did a special in the 90's where they gave out x-men vhs with a pizza purchase. If I remember right it was just two different collections of episodes.
Omg I guessed Xmen 😍🤣. Wow love it, perfect 90s nostalgia! Gambit would have been awesome but cyclops is the leader so you can't go wrong.... Gambits my fav too 😁
Yes. They sold VHS copies of some selected episodes of the 90's Fox X-Men cartoons. At the time you could by the VHS copies and they had some small plastic cups for kids meals with X-Men art on them. I had one of the cups. But the plastic got super brittle and it shattered when I accidentally dropped it. So yeah, this was a promotional banner for the VHS promotion. I used to have a couple of the VHS tapes too.
The Banner is from the promo that pizza hut had. They offered I think it was two video x-men VHS volumes that had a few episodes each of the x-men cartoon from the 90s.
The last ten or so sold on eBay (2023) were between $550-$650. It's rare enough that it really just goes for whatever the last person lists it at with a buyer who wants it enough. lol.
Sooo, I don't mean to be an USB hole but, a guy who runs a huge game store like this can't remember Sam Fisher, or even the name of the game the statue is from? Splinter Cell games have been some of the biggest, almost a "household name" as far as video games go. I don't even like Splinter Cell games all that much and I still remember the name.
I have a "Play it loud" Clear Gameboy with unopened headphones and Link Cable, as well as the hard case. I'm missing the insert and books. But yes, those earbuds are hard to find.
In ‘92 Pizza Hut in the UK had an X-Men tie-in where you got X-Men plastic cups. Don’t know if the banner is related but seems to come from the same time period. This was also the first time I’d been to a Pizza Hut as I’d won an X-Men/Pizza Hut competition in an X-Men comic book for a meal for me and my parents. There weren’t many Pizza Huts in Scotland in the early 90’s.
That's awesome I'm not sure if we got the cups. I think so, but we got VHS tapes with X men animated show. Also I remember the little mini pizza box have X-Men comic art on it.
Pizza Hut had xmen cups in the 90s. I’m pretty sure this is from that. I’ve got all 4 cups and I said when I watched your last video that it was xmen but never commented 😂 you need to find the cups!
