Complete Gate Operator Packages bit.ly/33DCd0f
We would NEVER install a gate opener from a big box store. In fact, we won't touch them if they need servicing. Homeowners often go for them though, and by the time you combine homeowner corner-cutting with the lack of safety features these operators allow for, you wind up with potential for a nightmare scenario. Even if it's not "per manufacturer recommendation" it's how end users are actually installing these products all over the country.
The lawyers from you-know-who originally made us pull this video down, but we're bringing it back with all the clarifications and detail needed to make this legal. We're going to walk through and see what kind of homeowner corner-cutting we often find, and where we think this Ghost Controls operator could do better.

I think your channel is one of the best on RU-vid. I have about 200 channels I get updates on regularly and they cover virtually every topic you could think of. What makes your content stand out is the time and money you spend to show experimenting, (setting the posts in mixed concrete, dry mix and foam), a detailed installation of an alternative way to install vinyl fencing, consumer information on products, etc. And the thing I like best is you do all this very hard work with a sense of humor and are able to laugh at yourselves when things don’t go as you plan. Keep up the great videos you are doing and I believe you will see your channel grow rapidly.

I purchased their 2 gate motor setup and vehicle sensor, zombie lock, deep cycle optima yellow top battery. No solar direct wire. I don’t have any issues with the unit. I’ve set it up on our property about 3 years ago. We have multiple horse trailers going through everyday including atv’s with no issues. I really think the consumer needs to understand this is a homeowner solution “Do it yourself” I get you have concerns about the unit but you are comparing apples to oranges. A lot of farmers in my area don’t like the idea of hiring someone to install some commercial, pro gate. This is a great alternative. If you are a smart individual and do it yourself. This is a great product, if you don’t know what to do then hire a commercial gate pro and have them set you up.

Absolutely love my dual Ghost Controls gate openers. I am swinging x2 8’ by 8’ metal gates with wood on the exterior, mounted to 4” steel posts. The install was super easy and solar issues won’t be a problem. I opened and closed the gates 15 times before installing the solar panel. I am only using 1 of the recommended 2 batteries too! I don’t see any issues with this system.

In the first place i am not sure why you have a problem with the company except for what i see is getting revenge. the way that you are conducting yourself when you are Trying to demonstrate the product is very obvious. So just get over it and go on with your life without trying to diminish a company's existence. I have owned the Ghost Control now for the past 6 months and have very little problems with install or unit. And if i did have any they were ready and going beyond the call of support to help. the last time that i saw this kind of support was when Hewlett Packard getting into the computer side and have a banner support system. So if you are in the business of Gate Openers then build your business better than theirs and Good luck with it.

I may be a little aggressive in my demeanor 😉, but I mean well. I think it is important to point out the differences to folks between a gate opener that has to be UL 325 safety compliant before it even works, and one that *can* be UL 325 compliant but functions fine without those components. Let's face it, we're contractors, so we think like contractors. We overbuild because we don't want to come back and do repairs. We're focused on maximizing our time so we don't want to come back and do repairs. We warranty all of our work, so if we don't overbuild and aim for a certain standard then we will be losing money and time on repairs. And if we install (or even service) systems that aren't UL 325 compliant, we're the ones that become liable for any damages. If you want to install a non-compliant system, more power to you, but I'll be danged if I come out and upgrade the battery or oil the hinges and then become liable for the next time it closes on someone's vehicle. I've seen a thing or two, and that can make me come across a little strong. 😁 But, I am glad for folks that are having good experiences with their budget operators, and I'm very glad to hear they have excellent customer service. Good customer service is missing from so much of industry these days. I'm blown away by the dedication to customer service from US Automatic (one of our preferred gate openers). They're so dedicated to it they started installing USB charging ports in their housings so if you need to call customer service but your phone is dying you can keep it charged right there while you've got the box open!

I have a Ghost Controls operator on my 16 Ft gate using only solar power with (2) 12-volt batteries and absolutely love it. Installed it by myself and it was extremely easy and straight forward. It is at my weekend house, so it only is activated approx 15-20 times per week. It has worked flawlessly since day 1. If you live in the county or have a big piece of land with just a metal tube gate like I have, it is a clear winning choice. I have approx $1,050 invested in mine and that wouldn't even pay for the labor for an installer. Ghost Controls may not be for everyone, but for those who don't need fancy looking gates, they are the best / dependable option.

I've had a "consumer grade" driveway gate opener for about 20 years now. Admittedly, they don't last forever and I'm just now installing my third one. I've never once had it close on any vehicle or a person. Obviously this can be an issue but as you noted in the video, they do not exert enough torque to hurt anyone to start with and have stall protection built in. In my opinion the worst that could happen is that a vehicle could get snagged driving through and really tear things up. Again, it's never happened - not even close. I got a bid for a mid-grade commercial opener. The bid was over $6000 installed. I can buy TEN of for that price and I'll be long dead by the time I go through 10 of these things. The cost is SO outrageously out of bounds for the average consumer, it just doesn't make sense. You're a pro and you provide a professional level installation - no disrespect intended. The reality is, the consumer grade opener has opened up automation for the average joe who can navigate their installation and deal with the occasional nuisance issue. That's not your market and I can totally understand why you don't mess around with these products.

I have had a two-gate system from Ghost for over five years. We are on solar and add a 20w panel to the 10w panel for a total of 30w. This has kelp the batteries charged with no problems. We have an extra set of batteries that we keep on a trickle charger for changing out in the winter if we go sunless for several days. This was installed by us, and we did not have a problem on installation, other than cockpit trouble that Ghost fixed quickly. If a problem occurs, the support group at Ghost is great, just drop them an email with your problem and they respond the next business day with a solution for you to try.

I never post comments on any videos but I feel I have to comment on this one since it’s so silly. I was quoted $15k to get my home gate automated. I bought the ghost system for about $1200 and installed it myself in a few hours. Was I expecting it was going to be as good as the $15k system? Of course not, but it works very well and it cost me less than 10% of the other option. If your system was within Ghost’s price range I would understand this video, but you even mention just your operators range from $7k-100k. Ghost systems are a budget option, and they are very good at that. I’ve had mine for about 3 years with no issues. Their customer service is also very responsive. You are completely missing the point.

It's like paying for a Big Mac and getting a Big Mac. I know it's one of those things that look simple and cheap from the outside, but by the time we pay for quality parts, and take the time to install it correctly, it starts to add up. Depending on where you live in the country, what the elements are like, and what kind of daily use your gate is going to get, you might do just fine with a budget system! We could install these systems all day long if we wanted to, but unfortunately that's a money-losing proposition for us because of our warranty policies. We hate spending time/money going back to fix things. That's what cements us in our choices. For customers that have to work with budget systems there is no shame in that. It's a bit like putting a tool shed in your back yard and deciding between a structure with a foundation, or a plastic Walmart shed. If you think the price of the plastic shed is normal, then of course the price of the structure with a foundation is going to seem high. But not everyone wants a plastic shed. Some people will swear by them, other people will look down on them. There's no right or wrong here, but there is quality, longevity, and safety systems, and those are just harsh realities.

Yep, it is on them. 👍🏻 Some people have great experiences--and a gate that's left mostly open all the time is a better scenario for being happy with whatever system you have because it has a lot less chance to fail. Your climate has a lot to do with it too. But you're already ahead of the game for having someone experienced put it in--it's the homeowners who don't know what they don't know that are opening themselves up for problems in our opinion.

I'm just a regular guy on 8 acres. $2500 for a gate opener is nuts. Not knocking the quality but who can afford that? @SWiFence
@SWiFence 3 года назад
I'm afraid this is a "get what you pay for" scenario. We totally get that folks have to do what their resources will allow--that makes sense. We just see more of the hidden costs of the "affordable" systems down the road. Some of those "costs" are in lack of servicing options. When we're called out to service a gate that's not up to code we won't touch it unless the homeowner wants to pay to bring everything up to spec--because if we do work on it and don't bring it up to code we're liable for anything that may go wrong in the future, and that's an expense gamble we just can't take. Either way you go, no judgement from us, we're just trying to share what we see and help folks understand why there is such a price difference. There are some folks who are very happy with those systems and we're happy for them!

If you want all the bells and whistles your going to have to get a contractor to do it because the manufacturers like Lift Master wont sell them to you unless your a dealer. Or the Home Owner shops installers with you providing a $2k commercial closer and the next guy spec's a $1k Mule/Ghost closer and tells the customer that they are the same quality as the commercial brand... and you don't get the job. Sometimes trying to educate people is futile, they only hear the sound of money being sucked from their wallet. I don't think you've hear the last from the lawyers or satisfied customers.

I would be fascinated to know what the laws actually are where I live in regards to accidental damage. i.e. Would I still be liable if I had proper signage? If someone is stupid enough to park in the gate's path and get hit, despite my sign, am I still liable? I've had one operating for nearly a year now, and despite three signs, have had multiple close calls. Signage: Automatic Gate, Do not Stop in Gate's Path, Stop Here for Gate In regards to the gate doing damage, at least to a living thing, I have to disagree. I keep mine on the lowest force setting just in case, (which is a problem sometimes when it's really windy) and I put myself in its way to test it out. Depending where I'm standing, there is still a good amount of force, and if I try my foot underneath the gate where there's little clearance, especially close to the hinges, it would easily hurt someone, especially a child. That being said, the other day I accidently distracted my sister while passing through the gate and we both forgot because apparently we're idiots, and it closed on the back corner. However, since she didn't move until it reversed there wasn't a scratch. But if it were on a strong setting, I'm pretty confident it could do damage, especially if they moved.

My cheap, self installed gate openers have worked for years with ZERO problems. Twice a gate has tried to close on a vehicle. BOTH of these drivers had enough sense to STOP their vehicle and allow the gate opener to do it's job and STOP. You boys need to find something else to whine about. Let consumers use their own discretion and good sense.

Have you ever had to go back out and service them because you offer an excellent warranty and you're committed to customer service? Once you start eating the cost of repairs for your customers you learn real quick what you're willing to install for people and what you're not. The big box store openers CAN work. They MIGHT work for your whole life. They are thousands of dollars cheaper (initially). And if someone knows what they're getting into and is making an educated decision and needs to go cheaper because that's the right choice for them at the time, THEN GO FOR IT. Proper safty devices?? That is BS. If you need any MORE safety sensors on your gate that you don't have on your garage door, you are a fool. Stop talking about safety. The force control "safety" software is why you can't put a GC opener on a solid surface gate or large door (wind). If you or your animals get caught in a gate that is closing then you and your animals would probably get caught in a garage door. So stop talking safety. Engineers should be designing the gate operators not attorneys, gov buracrats or politicians!! I grew up when garage doors would break your back!

Interesting. Yes, you have opinions (smile). Now ... where is a link to that UL 325 you talk about so much? How about photos of the 'Bad Ass' and other hinges ? and the promised links? How about a bit of info letting this homeowner upgrade from the 10W solar panel ? One HUGE factor here in 'the sticks' of north central Florida is the difficulty of locating any business that knows how to repair Spooky much less the stuff you install. (My neighbor had had to call their 'professional' gate 'installer' with huge very elegant electronic parts boxes out almost monthly for the first year .. then fired them .. the next 'professional' too three attempts to remedy ... point being even the best 'system' sucks if the installer is ignorant.) In the For what it is Worth department, I have had a "spooky" for about five years now. As i recall, the first part of the install says - never put the opener at the top or bottom of the gate (no doubt extra twist/drag but you had no intention on 'testing' long enough for the problem). My use is very basic - I monitor the gate open / close before entry or exit leaving me without most of your (well received) negative observations. I have had to call 'customer service' twice. In each instance they have been polite, efficient, and amazingly helpful. I might add that the Ghost is ten times the product of 'The Mule' which big box stores sell more often .... I can point out four in one block that are left open because the Mule kicked. Thank you for the insight. More links please .. like the Stony Ridge ? install

A 100 % idiot proof Gate operator simply does not exist. Basic common sense must be utilized before a person can enjoy having an automatic gate operator. You can not buy a quality, durable, and dependable gate operator for a thousand dollars. Amazes me that people will spend 40.000 for a boat that they will use 4-5 times and depreciate 10.000 after the first season, and freak out when they are quoted 9.000 for a gate and operator system that they will use daily for 30 years. $9000 is low end for a quality heavy steel gate on ball bearing hinges and powered by a high quality 'real' gate operator. Gate/car collisions are most common with 'swing' gates' If you have the room for a slide cantilever gate, that is the optimal for safety, dependability and durability.

I have a homemade pneumatic gate opener. It is over 30 years old and has never broken down. Works off the shop compressor, the gate is welded iron and the post is 18 inch concrete reused traffic signal pole. The actuator is hidden in a planter, stainless steel pipe and rod. laser detectors in and out. This setup is extremely poweful and has a latch that engages when the gate is closed. If I ever call a gate installer I think he would run away as fast as he could. A couple of years ago I put in an IR sensor and even a duck walking by stops the gate. The timer is mechanical

I also absolutely love my Ghost Controls gate opener. It has been going strong for 6 years with the original solar panel. No it is not "commercial grade" but some consumer items do not have to be. Personally I don't blame Ghost Controls for contacting you through legal channels. Your company is one of those that twist facts and make the costumer feel like you have all the answers and expertise so as to gain trust. Saying that the unit showed in your video cost $1500.00 was a flat out lie and you knew what you were doing. When caught you backtracked and played it off like it was an innocent mistake. Your focus on how the gate opener could damage a vehicle and how it has no sensor to tell if a human is in it's path is irrelevant because in the next sentence you state how slow and weak the system is and that it likely couldn't hurt anyone. So which is it or are you grasping at straws to try and malign the product and push a product seven times more expensive (7k and up) according to you. We have our gate opener set to auto close at three minutes, never a problem and if the remote is activated it will stop the gate in position and a second activation will return the gate to the prior position. Please just show your product and the benefits but stay away from trying to make a good product look inferior to sell yours.

@@SWiFence As an installer I would certainly hope that you have installed more gates than I have. That being said you should therefore have a balanced approach to the evaluation of gate openers for many different situations and property configurations. You seem to hate the fact that there are those of us who have not had any issues with our Ghost Control openers and contradict your outrageous solar panel, car dealership smear tactics just to sell your service and product. If you truly provide a great outstanding service and an outstanding product then let it speak for itself rather than wasting time making childish unprofessional videos. Sorry you got called to the carpet but life sucks sometimes and you just have to admit you could have made better decisions. After having my Ghost Control opener for seven years I am still coming out ahead in cost by a long shot even if I replace it fully new compared to the 7k(to start with) that you state for your system. Besides as others have stated, it's and apple and oranges comparison. My advice to you is to compare the various commercial openers and give the client the best options. No person in there right compares a quarter ton truck to a one ton. The quarter ton will get the work done that it is capable of doing and the one ton likewise. I commented on your video because I know bad marketing B.S. when I see it. Like a roofer after a minor hail storm who tries to convince you to file an insurance claim because of unseen "pressure damage". Stick to apples to apples comparisons and you will gain more respect. I'm a fence contractor in Texas. You have to remember that the Ghost Control opener is a DIY unit, low cost for low budgets. These units are mostly used only on minimum bases. A simply enter and exit. Even the higher end unit , which cost 2 to 3 times more, can be just as big as headache as the DIY units, not to mention their components cost more replace than the DIY unit. If it were a million dollar place I can justify a better higher end unit. But, for the weekender the DIY unit are perfect. If installed correctly. Just my thoughts.

Those are fair points. Everybody has their priorities they have to balance, and as long as they're making informed decisions we totally get that. 👍🏻👍🏻 It's the uninformed and the homeowners who don't know what they don't know that end up with problems. Some of those same homeowners also don't understand why we won't install budget systems like this. It comes down to the fact that we warranty all of our work, and we haven't got time to mess with the repairs and liabilities of this class of operator.
@SJSharx
@SJSharx Год назад
It's amazing how you can watch multiple installation videos of these with zero issues and then see yours. I first thought it was the worst installation video yet then realized what your real intent was. To trash your competition or in this case a DIY unit instead of a "pro" install that you would do at from what I read here, very expensive. I just got totally ripped off just getting a gate installed that does not even have an electronic opener. Due to my age, I hired a contractor. I had no idea it was so much. To get it to electrically open, it will be I think $10k more. That's ridiculous. Until I saw the Ghost videos, I figured I would get out of my vehicle and open/close it manually, I could use the exercise I thought. But I think the average homeowner is tired of the escalating cost to have work done from contractors who seem to have raised their costs even more since the Pandemic started. But the real mistake you are making is doing what I learned in 30+ years of sales to not do and that's trash your competition. I sold 3M industrial products many years ago and there were plenty of cheap competitors, like crappy masking tape for instance, But we never trashed them. We just showed how superior their quality was and let that speak for itself. I think when you do a video(s) calling out a specific company, you lose respect for yourself and yours. Then when people read the many reviews of people who say it "works for them" it then will not matter what you say and make you look even worse (my "opinion" like you said many times). But it really did not take me long to figure our where you were going when I saw all the equipment mounted on the gate's post (I never saw that in ANY video's) and bolting a flat faced bracket on a round post, really? If one were to do such a crappy install, of course it will fail sooner. Lastly, I lost count of how many times you had to stop the video to clarify a mistake made. Just let the consumer decide. If you don't like it, don't lower yourself by wasting your time saying how bad they are, instead take that time and show us what your choice of a higher quality product is and the installation of it. The consumer that wants to pay for it will. But a $120,000 installation? That better be a "Golden Operator" and have a 24/7 Security Guard stationed next to it.
@SWiFence
@SWiFence Год назад
I don't know who's quoting you $120,000 for a reliable gate opener--but they're trying to make a yacht payment. Yes, we have strong opinions. Yes, we've seen a lot of really cruddy homeowner DIY installs. Yes, we exaggerated the sloppiness of this install to make a point. This is a case of human experience. The inner-city cop isn't going to have a lot of faith in the character of mankind because he deals with all the problems all the time. We don't have a lot of faith in budget gate openers because we've seen too many of them, and we've learned not to service them--because as soon as we do we become liable for any future problems, and we're tired of losing money that way. A budget opener _can_ work for you. It might work your whole life. Just know what you're getting in to and don't for one second think it's the same as higher-quality products. And don't expect a reputable contractor to service it. But we understand it might well be the best option for you and we sincerely wish you the best with it.

But how is the buyer going to beware if everyone is telling him that a mobile home is the same as a construction-built home? Apparently Ghost Controls is taking business away from you. Why else would you take up so much time to create a sarcastic video - along with some corny humor - to be critical of an affordable DIY system? I installed the Ghost Controls system on my 16' farm gate and have no issues whatsoever. I have AC power & a transformer (instead of a solar panel) at my gate column to charge the DC battery. I have the ZombieLock, which automatically unlocks & locks the gate, and it works flawlessly. Their customer & tech support are also very responsive and helpful. My neighbors & my family members LOVE my gate opener. Mr. SWi, please don't hate on Ghost "Spooky" Controls. Everyone doesn't have the basic skills necessary to take on a gate opener project, or maybe they don't want to invest the time, and so they can then call their local sarcastic installer - like SWi - and pay to have a more substantial (than necessary) investment in a simple gate opener project. That's their choice, and this is My2cents.

Well hey there Larry. Your two cents are duly noted. 👍🏻 We're glad you like your Spooky, and we genuinely have no desire for it to fail. Yeah we come off a little strong but it's because we've seen too much to have a neutral opinion. You've got to understand the lens we're seeing things through. We are professional installers with a 100% commitment to customer service and staying profitable, that means we HATE going back to fix things because it costs us money. So we tend to gravitate to things that don't break down so we can stop it with the follow-up fix-it visits and move on to new jobs. There are some folks that live long and happy lives with their big box store opener. There are also other folks (we're going to assume we see more openers on a regular basis than you do) who have problems. And the fact that many of these budget openers allow themselves to be installed without being UL325-compliant opens the door for more problems.

not enough force, unless of course it's a small kid, and then all it might take is a bump on the head to give the kid a concussion. their skulls are not fully developed and still expanding to accommodate growth up to adulthood, and it wouldn't take much to hurt them, but, hey, what are the chances? A few pounds of force could randomly do a lot. I think companies like this that are threatening to sue you over your safety statements of their products aren't very good human beings, probably part of the cancel culture that don't like to identify people as male and female either. I'll shut up, but I appreciate you giving your wisdom on the product! Just because this product meets the UL listing that was decided by a small group of people, doesn't means that it is safe. I mean, I get it; you can make something so safe, but when you reduce safety features, so they can make more money and still make it affordable, says a lot about them! Anyway, I'll shut up.

I would say congratulations! It's a bit like putting a tool shed in your back yard and deciding between a structure with a foundation, or a plastic shed. If you think the price of the plastic shed is normal, then of course the price of the structure with a foundation is going to seem high. But not everyone wants a plastic shed. Some people will swear by them, other people will look down on them. There's no right or wrong here, but there is quality, longevity, and safety systems, and those are just realities.

one last comment; there is a difference between an opinion and wisdom. When you do something for a living, like you do, comments on a product can be statements of wisdom. That isn't always the case, but I would say that you feedback on this product is more on the side of wisdom than just opinion. An opinion can be right or wrong! Wisdom is just simple sharing knowledge and experience on something; you're sharing knowledge and experience as a professional; I'll leave it at that. I get so reluctant to buy things on line; because you don't always know what you're getting unless you have already bought it in the past!

watched the whole video. I gotta say you are clearly not understanding the target audience for Ghozt controls gate openers to me. the whole reason any of us consider them is because we dont want to spend 2500 on a gate opener for our ranch and we surely dont want someone having to come charge us hundreds to install it with safety features we dont care about. I think the part you missed out on is the lack of power in these and inability to disable functions like the auto reopen when it doesnt reach the closed limit, or the bullshit limit recall that forgets the limit, or the inability to lock the operator without some ingenuity, or the fact that it doesnt mention anywhere not to use on wood panel fences until you go to website specifically looking for that. The Ghost i bought was good quality for what it is but lacks the power i needed for my gate which was lighter than the listed length and weight ghost mentions, easy to install and easy to program but fundamentally flawed in the software and accessories and the close limit default to reopen the gate it the most frustrating thing ever, should have been able to disable that feature i would rather it close most of the way than reopen 6ft when it cant fight the wind.

The only bad review I really gave was for a glue gun I bought with a dent repair kit. I put hot glue on one pull tab and it was melted down inside and wouldn't work by the time I started to put hot glue on the next pull tab. In the review I called it garbage and that the pull tabs only worked for a few pulls before they broke, and products that I gave any kind of detail feedback on their functionality, they blocked. I stated how I used the product and how it worked for me, and they don't like those kind of reviews I guess. There are a lot of 3rd rate companies, if you can call them a legitimate company, that don't like to hear anyone's opinion on their product. Interesting to see the other side of the story. A bit over the top but does give you things to think about.

Honestly this is just bad business too. That manual should be full of info telling you of other safety features they can be selling you!

Recently purchased a dual ghost control operator and it has been a frustrating endeavor to say the least. From installation to operation.

What is the gate operator you recommend for a 14’ gate. Left hand swing opening.

Subscribed today. This was really good information. I will be purchasing a gate operator this year when I decide what type in should get. Sliding or swing type.

We love the US Automatic Ranger series. If you've been looking at budget opener prices these'll seem a little high--but they're well under 7k. www.swifence.com/gate-operators/operators/?max=3500

I saw the badass hinges you're talking about. real nice sealed bearings and nice smooth action on the gate. In the same video "Quality Gate Operator Installation" You can tell they're heavy duty hinges. Looks like a great option!

Oddly, I was just about to look for "gate openers other than Ghost Controls" not just for the totally messy look with all those wires but because of conduit as well. I'm not a pro but I lay conduit and put everything inside conduit. Sure, Liftmaster may be more but from what I can tell the extra $$$ are worth it. Thank you so much for posting this!!!!

We have the Ghost Control Pro LDM2 Dual openers installed and would like to know what you recommend to increase safety; the ground loop or the eyes? For lightning protection we are thinking about grounding the steel gate posts but not the control panel.Thank you for your help!

Hate to say it but the only thing we'll do with those systems is rip them out and start with something else--really don't have any advice for you. 😐

Playing devils advocate here. But not everyone wants to spend nor has the means to spend thousands on a gate. I think this gate is made for the average person just needing to keep people out of somewhere. I get what your saying, people are buying this thinking it is a big time gate operator. But really thats the consumers fault for buying something without educating themselfs on what it is they are purchasing (This is my opinion and my only) 😉😉😉. I love you keep doing that in such a condescending but serious way. Lol

I like the Vikings, Linears, Powermasters. Do a Lot of Repairs on These type Smaller units, People get what they can afford. See these type usefull in Remote Areas. With an Altronix PT724A 365 Day Timer, You could add Schedules, Open at 9, close at 5? 10 K Resistors are good for Testing Monitored Devices to be sure that device is the Issue. Viking Electronics(not Viking Access) makes an RC4a Network Controller, it allows 4 Single Pole, Double Throw Relay to be controlled anywhere by Phone, can be Timed, Toggled, or Momentary. Also allows you to know of 4 different Opening or Closure Of Contacts. You can Open for Landscaper, Pool Maintenance, Renters, Whatever. And see if Gate is Opened or Closed. May have to add Own Contacts. I Like Physical Limit Wheels as Opposed to Learning Pulses, Viking K2 and Others Set Pretty easily, despite no limit wheels. If you have a Boat Trailer, or don't want to Risk Gate Closing. Don't use the Timer, press to Open and Press to Close. Take Care Strategic Electric & Security. Not sure if it Mentions Pointing Solar Panel South? Take Care, Merry Christmas
