The ladies on "The View" talk about the restructuring of the GOP and the new direction it is trying to take. They also discuss how the party has taken a direction in the way of Racism and Hate. They blast recent remarks by some GOP lawmakers and Joy notes that this kind of behavior exist in all political party's not just the Republican Party. They mention a specific example of one GOP lawmaker saying that gorillas that escaped from a zoo where ancestors of Michelle Obama. The conversation becomes very heated and Whoopi basically says that this kind of Racist Rhetoric is unacceptable. In addition, they talk about Dr.Tiller and Late term abortions.

My dad gave the best piece of advice when I was a young girl: he said, freedom of speech might mean that you can say anything but but socially, freedom of speech means that you have to say things that are actually worth hearing.

Elisabeth says people send her those emails and she sends them harsh responses back. Yeh she only sends them those responses to cover her ass. They felt comfortable sending her those things for a reason

This is where a large portion of the anti-Obama zealotry stems from, a large group of people just hate Obama simply because of his color. I'm not saying its the entire GOP but its certainly a sizeable minority.

Being "slightly" racist is like being slightly pregnant. People like Hasselback always mouth the words about how horrible and disgusting racism is, but their attitudes about many issues bespeak another truth.

Why not just choose to be straight?because its not a choice.Up until recently there wasn't a gene for autism either. Before then could people just choose not to be autistic?And as for racism you can turn to Fox News ANY given day or time and hear the negative, stereotypical and racist things they have to say about our President. And as for abortions, are you going to take care of all the starving children that are born because the parent can't afford to care for it?

I've seen a good amount of, "The View", videos recently and they're all around the time where Elisabeth was on the show. In all of the videos, they often talk longer than her and interrupt her even though she is fairly quiet and lets them speak when they talk. Yeah, she may sneak in a 2 cents worth phrase at least once while someone talks but most of them, (if not all), gang up on her if she says one thing that's against their rhetoric.. Those borderline bulling mob rule tactics are deplorable.

As much as I disagree with most, if not everything that comes out of Bill O'Reilly's mouth you make an excellent point. He has the right to say it, agree or disagree with his point. My hope is that when Bill starts talking statistics, demographics and "what the American People Want," that people take note he never sites sources (at least I have never seen him site them), there is a fundamental fault in his claim to truth and logic. Like FOX news anchors Bill pulls statistics out of mid-air.

Yes, Bill O'Reilly has the right to say whatever he wishes, just as everyone else has the right to criticize his position. The right that people do not have is to argue to eliminate Bill's ability to say what he wants. There is a difference between saying that Bill shouldn't say something and saying that Bill shouldn't be allowed to say something.

That image came about during the Civil Rights movement. Republicans took a stance of opposition to Civil Rights for Af. Amer. Then add to the fact this type of behind the scenes behavior... Ppl are not stupid.

Elisabeth Bunnell Noell I just think she deserves more respect. I rarely agree with her and I'm not a Republican, but in a show called "The View" it just seems strange that it's always 3+ liberal views versus 1 conservative view. A balanced panel would have made for better discussions :)

offensive or not its free speech, nobody says anything about socially racism, the groups, entertainment establishments, and scholarships, that are designated for one religion while others are forbidden to do so

The fact that Elizabeth can't connect Bill O'Reilly's hate speech and the attitude and actions of his public scares me. What you watch on TV affects you - she should know that, ESPECIALLY as she speaks her own views ON TV! Does she think that people disregard whatever SHE says? Of course not - she's trying to send a message. Does she not see that maybe Bill O'Reilly is doing the same?

That's basically how everyone should be. If someone proposes an idea that genuinely sounds good, it shouldn't be scrutinized any further because of the color of the person who proposed it. Any if you happen to propose a bad idea, or one that isn't quite suitable, then you shouldn't blatantly put out the notion that it was rejected because of your skin color. Like you said "wrong is wrong" regardless of where it comes from.

flow267 asked a question, and I would like to answer it. Yes it would be the same and my life is not easy. I work very hard to be were I am at. Now, yes people have said I couldn't do it but they were wrong. I could have said I am not going to try because I am a girl, I don't have any money, I have medical problems BUT I didn't. I feel with determination and not listening when other people say bad things about me is what put me in the great place I am now.

I wouldn't give up my skin color for anything because it has allowed me to see a part of the world that others have not. I've had insight into more things that I don't think I would have realized if i were white. I think that my skin color made it harder for me to get around but it gave me character

Believe me, I know exactly what you mean, and as I a black person I get really ashamed of it. Not to toot my own horn, but I really wish there were more black people like myself who are more progressive & moderate on their views and don't play the race card every-damn-time someone of another color disagrees with their opinion. It really makes me sad that there are still black people around who are ignorant enough to use that method to express their viewpoints.

Your statement is oonly partially true, they weren't sold by their own tribes/villages. What really happened was that there were wars between different African tribes around the continent. The defeated tribes in wars would then become enslaved by the victor tribe, they were working for their enemies. Later, they figured they could sell lots of slaves for money and so they did. So yes they DID care about each other, they just lost fights with their rivals.

Sherri, Joy, and Whoopi are all accomplished actresses/comedians. Barbara Walters is probably the most accomplished journalist in the country. Elisabeth Hasselbeck..... was on Survivor.....

Abortion is not a woman's right. What about the baby's right. The human being growing inside her is due to her having sex which she had the right to say NO!! to the guy. Instead she opened her legs and did not get him to have a condom so please stop this woman's right crap. In addition, what about the guy? His genetic material is part of that baby so why does he not have a right to say anything? Yet the guy is financially responsible for the woman's body part as you like to say. Explain that?

@jarjar952 How is it "judgmental" to call a duck a duck? To be conservative MEANS to have very strict boundaries and guidelines and usually these come from religious dogma. The boundaries and guidelines are meant to keep one pure. And any nonreligious conservative crap comes from fear or hate of something or someone.....racism.
