Glad to hear that this is not a dating group. If people find each other that’s fine, but nice to hear that this group is about companionship more than anything else.. 👍🏾
That is for sure. To tell you the truth never really heard about dating....it was refreshing. Or maybe nobody wants to talk to me about dating...lol...just kidding. Have a great day. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Another great video Rusty. My list of "Reasons for The Villages" just got longer. Spring of '22 is my moving to The Villages period. I'll be applying to this singles group then, looks like a fun group.
Hi Jeff and Nancy! I’m sure your single groups has eased the transition of moving to TV for many people. I’m a single and one of my main concerns is building a strong support group in my retirement if I’m moving away from family. As a travel nurse, I’ve lived all over the country and loved the adventures, but I’ve wondered (worried a little) if singles really enjoyed the TV, not knowing anyone the first few years. Lonely??? Sounds like you guys have a ton of fun events, large and small with a wide range of activities and interests so newbies can jump in early on and start connecting with others. I hope to meet each of you at some point. Great video Rusty!!!! Thanks for touching on a topic rarely explored on YT so far.
Thanks Patty...yep always hard making a move. But you are never stuck...so just rent for a little while. Give it a go. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR TAKING YOUR TIME, GIVING OF YOURSELVES SO THAT OTHERS CAN NOT BE AS INTIMIDATED IF THEY ARE SINGLE.
Would a single person be able to attend a few events if they were on a lifestyle visit? I want to plan a week long lifestyle visit but I will have to go alone so it would be nice to hang out and meet other singles in TV. I've been told it's a place for married people so it's interesting seeing that there are indeed a lot of singles that live there. Thank you for this informative video.
Hi Lisa...I can't answer for them but I would write to them on the FB page and see what they say. It's a friendly group. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
As a single woman, I am taking a Lifestyle visit next month.. My sister is joining me even though she has no intention of buying a house. It should be a FUN girls week!
@@lmb4876 a friend & I did a week-long lifestyle visit in 2017. We had a good time. We didn’t think a week would have been long enough to decide everything necessary in order to buy but it was long enough to relax & take in many aspects of living in The Villages. Good luck!
Great Job Rusty! And thanks to Nancy and Jeff. I am considering +55 communities. The fact that I am single has concerned me that I might be the “odd one”! Plus I am concerned that there aren’t many 60 year olds? I would probably rent before buying to get the feel of the lifestyle. Can renters attend events? Does anybody have any info on similar single groups in other +55 places in FL or AZ? Thanks!
Even though I'm single, I would have never considered joining a singles club assuming it would be about desperate people looking for romance and or hookups but after seeing this and realizing that this particular singles club is just about meeting people, making new friends, I'd definitely consider it. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks to all of you for the great information. It sounds like there are many things to do together. As a younger widow, it was nice to hear that there is a support group. Really appreciated the interview.
I appreciate the content. I am so tired of being in the friend zone. I really wish that I could find a singles group for people seeking a long term relationship. The streets roll up at 8:30PM? Really? I didnt think 9PM was my bedtime again.
Thank you Rusty and special thanks to Nancy and Jeff! I am single and it sounds like a great group of people. It is hard to know how it would be living in The Villages without being a couple. This information was very helpful. Thanks so much Rusty - great video!
There are homes in every price point - from $114K to millions of dollars. And no matter what price home you can afford, we all get the same amenities- pools, golf, tennis, pickleball, 3000+ clubs, 2500+ organized classes, daily live music venues throughout The Villages. I am pretty sure almost everyone can afford this great place!!
@@Mushkiepotamus you should be a representative for the TV! Happy Nurses Week!!! 6 extra years of FUN! Your story has me fired up and inspired!! Many thanks!
Great video, Rusty! I’m so happy to learn that the singles group focuses on friendship & support, rather than dating. I can’t wait to join when I move to TV!
Wonderful that there’s a group for singles, because the Villages does not allow you to invite non-residents to the facilities or events. It’s stressful and no fun to be alone among couples, especially when you’re a single paying the same amount for the facilites as a couple.
This interview really helped explain what the singles group is all about. I just thought it was a dating group. I am glad to know it's much more than that. Thank you Nancy and Jeff!
Jeff and Nancy glad you started what seems to be such a great group. I have been intrigued by the villages however I thought as a single person it would be very difficult to fit into a place that’s really orientated to couples. Looks like I should plan a life style visit and perhaps meet Nancy and Jeff and some of the others in the group.... Rusty if you decide to move to the village....your new tube channel should be Rusty’s single life adventures in the villages ...100k subscribers for sure Thanks for all your nice videos
Rusty great info...For those villager singles that are not a fan of Zucks Facebook, why not just start a new Villages Singles Web Site? Charge a fee for villagers signing up, cover expenses and setting up monies? BTW Rusty, hope you decide to become a resident of THE VILLAGES, a great new addition, an amba$$ador if you will... : )
FB page right now works for them and if you set up a webpage somebody has to run it. I surely don't want to. Web pages cost a bunch to get somebody wot run them. Remember this is all volunteer. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
@@AnneAlready Goodness, this is such sad and shocking news, so sorry to hear this lovely lady is no longer with your group, I know she is truly missed.
I am looking to move to the villages within the year. So excited to find out about your group. I am looking to meet other singles to do things with. This is ideal. So looking forward to hopefully being able to join this group. Thank you for the video. I feel so much better about moving to the villages as a single person.
Thank you to Nancy and Jeff for stepping up to the microphone. That was really a great description of what a single person could expect . A friendly single group is a good ticket for entering The Villages. Some single snowbirds rent every year. I can't leave my northern family all year, but I am available to rent at the village's every winter. Sure would be nice for single renters to be accepted. Keep the video's coming. Thanks for the information Rusty.
@@RustyNelson I've rented there for the winters of 2018 and 2019. Not sure how Tiger and you are interpreting, but to clarify...AT 5min and 30 seconds into the video, Nancy says you have to be a resident to join(be accepted) to their singles club. Sometimes the written word or text can be often misinterpreted. My apologies...Steve
Great video Rusty. Some people have the perception that The Villages is only for married couples. I have heard there are over 25,000 singles living in The Villages. Thank you Nancy & Jeff. Your group sounds very active and a lot of fun. Great information for singles contemplating a move to The Villages.
I live in Orange Park, Florida. I don't have any desire to move to the Villages but I would love to have that same kind of synergy here in Orange Park. Is it possible or is the success of the group in large part because of the exclusivity of the membership in the Villages itself versus being in a public community like Orange Park, or Ponte Vedra or World of Golf, etc.?
Thank you for this information. I will be moving to The Villages in August. It is so wonderful to know about this group. I look forward to getting involved.
Hello Rusty, Thank you for bringing more information about the Villages Florida. So good to find out that a Singles Club has been formed and is successful to offer Singles an opportunity to meet other residence, socialize, and not have to feel they are alone. Researching The Villages and having this information will help me to decided my future retirement. Rusty your personal observations and questions of guests really make subscribing to your videos informative and entertaining. 👍🏼 👍🏼
Knowing there ARE many other singles is important information! In several visits, the overwhelming majority of couples was oft-putting. It seemed as if I might be odd-person-out most of the time. Also, the urban legends about The Villages make it seem as if a new single might be viewed like a daily special in a local meat market-not a welcoming thought to have about your potential hometown for (hopefully) many years to come. Thanks for putting single newbies’ anxieties to rest.
@@RustyNelson yes I don’t usually talk politics to anyone let alone friends and family if u want to keep them . Was just mentioning the problem I ran into and know of many others taken off or ghosted 👍
Hey Jim...I'm happy to let you come be the audio guy...lol. I could use the purchase of two more wireless mics also. Crank the volume up. Always in good fun. I worked in LA as a director for FOX so I know what is needed...just use what we can. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Loving your videos! Question - I would seriously be interested in buying in The Villages - but - I'm not interested in owning a home. Are there any plans at all to build condos?
There are a few condos up north. They come up for sale every so often. Check with a real estate agent. This agent...Ira...had one for sale just a short time ago. Here is his site. Tell him Rusty sent you from RU-vid. iramiller.eragrizzard.com/ Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
There are reasons for all. Basically south is all new. Do your research and come and play for a while further north the homes are more established. I would definitely come for a lifestyle visit. see video I did from the beginning. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r_AQ1FXfTYc.html I take you through all I dd. You will never understand until you are here. Things do tend to get younger as you move south. Upper 50's to 70. In general. Not hard rules. But there are many other things to consider. I'm in the middle of a long video about this subject. Do the research while you are here. Subscribe for new Videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Just found your channel. My son & his family live in Inverness and I’ll be moving down this year. Have debated looking at the Villages, just not sure it is the right fit for me. I’m trying to watch your vids and get more info.
Rusty, I am a subscriber of your channel and I thank you. I however am unable to join due to a major issue with PayPal that I am unable to resolve for over 2 years. I had to cancel my membership. Single in The Villages, now require a fee of $12.50 every 3 months, to be paid through PayPal, that is the Groups only accepted form of payment. Every time I try to resolve the issue I am am told to go to the resolution section in PayPal. I get no where! I emailed Sue and explained my situation. She informed me many others have had this issue and used a different email. Well their issue must not be the same as mine because when I did that, I was denied because they already have someone with my name. I can't change my name for PayPal! I even offered to pay Sue for a years membership. So I guess I am unable to join this club. I feel there should be another way to pay, like credit card, or debit card.
Sorry to hear that. I really don't have anything to do with that though. One thing you have to remember is that they are all volunteers so its ahrd to get things like that done. Hope for the best. Subscribe for new Videos: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Tell you what I'll be there next week for a L T rental and was going to join I WILL NOT knowing they use PayPal, period! How stupid! Do NOT take it personal PP is a politically connected group keeping ppl's money during the lockdown if they did not like their views on things, trust me! Why would they not use any other means how autocratic! EVERYONE uses a debit-card these days....
There are others but this is a little different. I wanted to talk to the others but they would not even let me come talk to them while they were playing pickleball. Not very inclusive unfortunately. Hopefully they lighten up a little. I'm easy to get along with...lol. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Best of luck to you. It's a big place. Drive the cart when you can. And get the apps that I talk about in the other videos they will help a bunch. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
Wish you were down here right now because it would be fun to find new things to do and you know this place better than I do and I can probably learn a lot from you
Great video Rusty.. nice overview of the group.. being single, I might be interested in checking out the group… not to try to hookup with someone, but be open minded, if sparks fly.. go for it… I’m not afraid to go and do something by myself..if I was, I would have missed out on a lot of great opportunities…but if I found someone who shared same interests wanted to tag along..no problem… like you say.. enjoy meeting new friends, have a good time, no pressure!.!😎
Jeff and Nancylove the channel....:) where did you come from before florida? have you ever lived any where with snow? I know you dont miss the feezing cold...and ice if you ever did live in a 4 season place...but do you ever miss the leaves and the fall?....cant wait to see your house :)
Hey Dennis. You bet. That's one thing that I found out about the Villages during my 8 week visit...that it seems to be very accepting and this group...if that's what you're referring to is a great example. I found it kind of funny because during my visit I found politics, race and the like subjects was something that was not really in the mainstream of conversation. Sure there are always the idiots and highlighted incidents by media but for the most part people just want to live life. Have fun. The LGBT-Q community definitely has a place. Now if you are asking the question to start something...people will let you know there is no place for it. An that goes for me too. Here is a quote from one of the facebook pages pages....Rainbow Family and Friends...the Villages. Any regrets about the move here?: Absolutely none! We remain as happy today as we were when we bought our first home here. We may be even happier now because we have gained a broad range of friends and belong to a terrifically supportive LGBTQ community. Here is the link. www.rainbowfamilyvillagesfl.com/about-us.html All the best and hope that helps.
Sure there are. Here is a video I did regarding LGBTQ from a prior question...or as much as I know about the lifestyle there. Hope that helps a little. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SGYKqpvKk-Y.html Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
I wonder if a married person that lives alone could join. I have friends that husbands still works in the North and wives go to Florida for the winter. Since it’s not a dating group, it would be great for ladies who are alone until husband retires.
I believe that it is strictly for singles. The real question is what happens if you get married while in the group. THing is you probably already made many friends in the group. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
@@RustyNelson I hope this group singles is really singles. !!!! Because I’m not looking for dating but if they keep the married people or the people that have found partners in the groups then some people get possessive about their partners, and if you’re just trying to have a conversation then sometimes the partners will give you the evil eye. !!!! Also another point, the groups that are for Married people do not let single people join so why should the singles group have married people or people have become really partners stay in the group or once they find their their partner or exclusive partners they should leave the group and join the others
I've been to Ocala to the World Equestrian Center. Never been to OTOTW. Simply because I'm there for the variety and TV seems to have that. But I've heard its nice. Subscribe Button: bit.ly/3aToJ3H
