Your doing a good job and I’m looking forward to seeing your trip to The Villages. FYI, it’s not true that only old people live in the northern section. This area has been turning over. Nobody lives forever. The new section will take years to get anything close to what we have north of 466. More golf courses too.
@@RustyNelson Preowned homes have loads of upgrades already done. My favorite location is Tall Trees and Piedmont. Don’t get a home too close to pickleball. That ball noise on the rackets all day will drive you nuts.

I saw on your first video that you’re an Air Force veteran. Be sure to stop by the Eisenhower Recreation Center. It has tribute rooms for all of the branches on the military. Looking forward to your next video(s).

Rusty ... as a Villages pickleball player myself, I suggest you get a copy of the "The Villages Recreation & Parks" insert from the Daily Sun newspaper ... This insert lists all the Rec Centers & their schedule for usage of the pickleball courts ... any time period listed as "Open" is your best bet for playing ... just get in the line & the line moves up as the front 4 players get on an open court ... the insert also shows when some courts are "reserved" for a specific group of players & sometimes those groups are tough to join
The pickleball thing has become a thorn in my side. The same for a few friends i met that have been coming here for a few years. will be dong a video on that subject once I get back home to Kennett.
We are in our mid 60s, originally from Philly and just bought a house in Sumter Landing..... Meeting lots of younger people.....check out Mission Hills.

Others I have seen in the past about going to the villages, their channel sub numbers spiked once they started showing stuff from the villages itself. Please don't get discouraged with low sub numbers right now. It is very interesting to see the process from the very beginning. I think lots of people will feel the same. Thanks for sharing this process. I am sure it will help a lot of people, including myself.

Visited friends who live in Fenny this past weekend. We played pickleball and just went to one of the rec centers and joined in right away. Never felt like they were in their own click.
Hey that's great. Like you said you went with some friends that had been down there before or lived there. Try going and not know anybody first days and you will find out that it's not easy to find the games right away "at your level". DId they show you where to go? I showed up at a few that were open play and nobody there. I showed up at a few and they were playing at a 5.0 level...I'm 4.0. Unless you are playing at that level you will NOT get into that game. I showed up a one that was private so I was told. So unless you have somebody to show you the ropes it simply is not that easy with all the courts around unless you get lucky and stumble onto one. And if you do...wow...I'm happy for you. You hit the gold..I was not that lucky until about the third day.
Take the trolley tours. Each town square has a unique tour. It’s a great way to get to know the various areas. I recommend starting in Spanish Springs and working your way south.
@@RustyNelson All part of the experience😄Looks like just a little rain. We had a storm during our lifestyle preview and we learned two things: 1) How quiet it is inside the houses there during a storm. Concrete block is a great thing; and 2) How quickly storm debris is cleaned up. They were out on Christmas Day cleaning up palm fronds and debris in the road.

Hi Rusty just discovered you on RU-vid we’re almost neighbors I’m outside of King of Prussia Pennsylvania. I had the same experience when I went to visit the villages about a year ago kind of thought it was an older crowd not that I’m young LOL. But that’s interesting fact about the southern part of the villages being a little younger I plan on Making another trip down here this fall enjoy your videos thanks

Just FYI, one very knowledgeable MLS realtor you may want to talk to, who lives in the Villages and knows all the competitive retirement areas in that region is Robyn Cavallaro. She also has a RU-vid channel by the same name. Her info is on her channel, including her business phone. Might be another good contact for you. She is a younger resident as well. Perhaps a good perspective for you. Hope it helps.
Thanks. I did see her channel and wrote to here but have not heard back. I plan on getting two RE folks. One on and one off site. They don't like that but I know it can be done. Trick is you really have to be ready to buy and know exactly what you want so they are not wasting there time. Being in the business for a little while I know your time is money. You are a smart guy . I don't think anyone has ever done this kind of video's . From start to end and everything in-between . Show us how you moved down there as well if you decide to move to the village . Do you use a moving truck or do you rent a u-haul ? How long did it take to drive there . Was the house ready when you moved in . You know stuff like that . Thank you for doing this .

Hi Rusty I have watched all your videos and this is great to see your adventures in the villages! I was wondering though how was your girlfriend's reaction to you moving there since you went on your own and she didn't go.
I'm not moving there yet and looking at this time as a second home but I've been told many people have said that. We are still together...getting a CHristmas tree today...LOL

I wonder what the average price point is for a nice but modest size home...I would prefer to keep our current home in additional something at the Villages - but prices I’ve seen would probably prevent that. I’m many years away from being able to relocate but trying to start planning now!
