I LOVE choose your own adventure books!!! They were not only a brilliant concept, but if you think about it,they are basically an analog version of the modern video games we know today! My brother and I would write our own adventures on the Osborne computer that we had, using ‘basic’,a very primitive programming language. The results were pretty cool! Also,I’m not a Disney superfan, but I am a superfan of Mary Blair! Her work,to this day is underrated, although it is more appreciated now,as opposed to years ago when it was brushed off as shmaltzy. Those shampoo bottles are incredible,I’ve never seen those before,I wonder if Mary designed them herself! I bet she did. I miss her!!😞
Oh goodness, where do I begin?! LUV the haul as usual. I would not remove the Smurf cars from the box. Wouldn't you feel bad tossing the box? It's banged up a little, but it's still so cool!! I love anything vintage Hallmark! ❤❤❤ So I love the cookie cutters. I had the it's a small world album a long time ago. 😮 I love that fun bag of toys and WHAT A PRICE!! You always find the best stuff, Abby! Happy Birthday to Keith. 🎉 😊 🎂 🎈
Thank you so much for the package! It's such a great gift, I'm been planning where best to put the stickers and how best to use the pocket notepad since I received it! I am going to but that Garfield on my next birthday cake!
Hey Hey Abby!! I still have my Merlin, and I LOVED it. I was so devastated when I took it out to show someone a few years ago and broke the battery cover. :( Now I'll have to be on the lookout for a non-working one that I can use for parts. See you soon!
Hello Chuck, and Happy New Year!! We chipped the battery cover on our Merlin when we were putting in fresh batteries, ugh! I think that plastic must have become brittle with age. But at least it still works perfectly! Honestly, I was shocked when it worked... what a bargain! We're going to try and play some modern songs using the music feature. Stay tuned (and see you soon!)
I'd say open the Smurfs Die Cast Figures and display them in a case. I think my cousin might've had those too because she's a huge Smurfs Fan. I see you had a few of my childhood favorites in the goodie bag you brought!!! Including the Dick Tracy Figure, the Batmobile, and the figure that you didn't know about was the Long Bow Robin Hood Figure from the Kevin Costner Robin Hood Movie.
Hey there, thanks Al! Still haven't decided about the Smurf cars, but I'm leaning towards removing them from the box in order to display them (like you said.) And that Kevin Costner action figure, ha ha! Good eye... I wouldn't have recognized him even though I loved that movie, so thanks for helping me solve that mystery!
I dont know if youre on Poshmark but they have the opportunity for live selling shows right now if youre selling your vintage finds. I absolutely LOVE the shows and have already bought quite a lot on there. If you ever decide to do it let us know so we can follow you! ❤
Cool! I'm honestly surprised they didn't start that trend sooner. It's a neat concept for sure, will check it out. We dabbled in the live shows on an app called Whatnot which was fun but also presented some challenges. That app still exists, but it's mostly focused on things like collector's cards and action figures. For now, I'll probably stick with Etsy, but thanks for letting me know!
Something that you might find interesting...the company Neca is going to release action figures that wear Ben Cooper costumes. (I saw that on the channel That Junkman)
This was my first video on your channel in 2024, so I?l like to wish you and Keith a very happy new year. I would say, take the smurfs out of the box! And the Furby is from 1997. Not 80s! But I`m sure you know that.
I've never counted, but I gravitate towards certain characters. I'm only trying to collect my favorites, and I sell other ones (and duplicates) in my Etsy store. I've figured out that some are more desirable to collectors, but I'm not aware of a book or website... it's just been trial and error for me based on sales. For example, the Garfield ones always sell immediately. Fraggle Rock has also been a big seller for me - I definitely need to find some more of those!
