Personally, I also didn't like the ending and it bothered me for a while. But then I thought of how the writers may want to portray Van and Hitomi's love as a 'higher love' which means that it transcends even the physical and it's kind of selfless to the point that it doesn't ask both parties to give up the world in which they've been borne to.

I agree I wish Hitomi stayed with Van. And I wish they did not have this as deleted ending I wish the ending where everyone comes to say good bye from Merle Allen Shazar and his sister Celena to Millernia and Gaddes and cute Little Prince Chid 🤴 😢 that would have been a better ending. 😢 obviously 💙 😢 🙄 😒 😑.

They went on Earth... (scenes from 3) I'm kinda gobsmacked by this. Anyway, i'm glad they didn't take any of those 2 ending scenes. Hitomi needed to say goodbye to Van without anyone else around (well, alive). I'm about to say the same than from other comments, her place was on Van' side, not coming back to Earth. Gosh, i hated the end they made.Beautiful but such painful. I'd like to see a new anime, years later, Van searching for Hitomi & taking her back to Gaea.

@@ae86takumi Some of these deleted scenes show concepts you can tell was going to take effect before the last episode! There was definitely going to be more episodes as well. That's why it's said to have been a budget cut.

@@ae86takumi Oh ok. All I know is there was going to be more episodes for the anime for sure! Some deleted scenes here that was cut from the old version of Escaflowne was put back into the remake. I don't remember exactly where I read it because it was years ago, but they briefly talked about how there was a budget cut. It's pretty obvious that content was cut too with how the story turned out. Things felt rushed in certain areas.

Did you forget she has school, not to mention a best friend, possibly other friends, a mother, a father, and a younger brother? Besides, for all we know Hitomi pulled a Kagome. She spent time with her family, then after graduating high school, she returned to Gaia to be with Van then they get married and then end and all that good stuff.

@@donnacolon4248 What are you talking about? The OP (commenter above) was just hoping Hitomi and Van's story would be like that of Kagome from the Inuyasha series. Hitomi wasn't shown marrying anyone in the series nor in the movie. Hitomi's grandma only visited Gaia for a brief moment when the father (Leon Schezar) of Allen saw the grandma of Hitomi, transported by a beam of light. It was only by chance and she was immediately transported back again.

Most of some kiss scene in Escaflowne I see represent lust or any other purpose other than love. Seeing Van letting Hitomi go sincerely is the uncoditional love I see between them.

I still don't get it. The Anime's end... why does she return to Earth? There's nothing there for her! She has Van in Gaia! And everyone else and a brand new exciting life. On Earth she was just in the middle between her bf and her bf's love!... And if she decides to go back anyway for her family or whatever... why does she leave the necklace?? that was her bridge between Gaia and Earth! does she want to be unhappy forever? never see Van again? it doesn't make sense..just to break our hearts

I agree with most of the cuts, especially the end scene cuts, they just did not work. The intriguing cuts were those where they crossed over into earth's space. There could have been a whole new world generated at that point.

It wouldn't end well for the Escaflowne folks, especially Zaibach to make first contact with Earth if they are stupid enough to mess with the inhabitants that possess far superior technology than what the folks from Gaea could ever dreamed of.. Did you ever see that anime called, GATE; Jieitai and how that all ended up for the poor Empire to mess with the Modern World, lol!

I definitely needed Van and Hitomi to spend more time together. I think for the majority of the series Hitomi was pretty much more interested in Allen, and this was super frustrating for me to watch. It was so weird for me when there was that sudden change between Allen and Hitomi, like was it because Allen was suddenly potrayed as really controlling and possessive in a toxic kinda way? Maybe this bit was slightly rushed because they had to compress the episodes..? Idk, it seemed like Van and Hitomi's relationship story outside the friend zone was just about to begin and then they were taken apart from each other.

Ahhhhh I don't think these are deleted scenes. It's been years, but I'm pretty sure most of these are from a video game based on the show, not from the show itself, which is why there's new characters (Mizuru) and weird shit on earth, and different endings (which you get based on how you played the game.)

El final no gusto a muchos pero no podían alargar la serie así hubiese sido una de tantas series con finales típicos. Aunque dejaron muchos temas abiertos como que pasara con Zaibach, Dolkien murió pero otros querrán el poder de Hitomi o de Van, también ahora que saben que en la tierra hay vida querrán llegar a ella y otros temas.

This from the Vision of Escaflowne Videogame. There are deleted scenes, however, they were only in the beginning episodes, up to the episode where Hitomi gets kidnapped.

good thing they didn't go for those 2 alternate endings. The 2nd alternate ending, with all their friends saying goodbye to Hitomi is kinda forced, especially seeing Van bid farewell to Hitomi like a kid saying "see you later" to a friend. The original ending was so much better, you can totally feel their emotions through their actions. i did kinda hoped that they share one last embrace/kiss as Hitomi was swept away with the beam of light.

@xReadOrDiex well the producers of the vision of escaflowne had a issue with lacking money and time, there are orginally plan 39 episodes but there are cut it down to 26 episodes then.

Yes i got the japanese, english and german dvd's of the vision of escaflowne. its very interesting to see difference in voice , text and other events in all 3 versions.

@Frozen518 lol , that totally normally , well those alternate endings are very interesting because originally its was planned to produce a 39 long episodes escsflowne series but there are short it down to 26 because of lack of money in that time.

@@MomoKanjaki These scenes were made for the Japan-only video game and to my knowledge were never intended to be in the TV show. There are videos of the game on RU-vid with English translations, though. Perhaps you can find out there.

Thanks. To be honest, though, I thought that the Playstation clips were on only the boxset of Escaflowne. Then I checked my DVD, and there they were! XD I checked those other DVDs for the anime's deleted scenes, but they weren't there. So you definitely have to get the Japanese DVDs, which I plan on doing in a little while anyways! ^.^;

Yeah these are the Playstation game scenes. I have it favourited here on RU-vid; there's two other videos with the exact same footage up here I think labelled as the game footage. As for the deleted scenes from the anime, they are on the first 2 DVDs of the Japanese release, since the English (and I supposed other countries) company didn't get the rights to them or something like that...

what they should do is since it has been so long they need to go back add more to the story to add more episodes i mean really what happened in between episodes it seemed like a lot of time skipped between certain episodes or was it just me and have a different ending to where she keeps the pendant and can return from time to time either that or have Van visit her something... i mean if they can redo sailor moon they can redo Escaflowne...!!!

@KakashiFangirl43 Not necessarily. The artist of Escaflowne did a much more recent anime called Heat Guy J. It's been licensed by funimation and you can watch it here on youtube. The style is almost the same.

The JSDF scrambling F-15 Fighter Planes to chase down Escaflowne and Folken's fortresses... lol, these guys were lucky that they didn't try to intimidate and threaten the Earth's inhabitants considering that the Earth's Military are much more advanced than anything the Zaibach Empire has it wouldn't even be a fight. Those guymelefs and those big floating fortresses would be toasted by a fleet of F-16s and B-52 Bombers raining death upon them from over 30,000ft in the air.

That floating fortress looked pretty thick, I doubt their munitions could penetrate to the inner chambers... Even if they used bunker busters, they'd be risking collateral damage on the city below.

Bansho If JDAMs or bunker busters ain't enough to deal with the floating fortress, then a silo of thermobaric cruise missiles should do the trick.. I doubt those floating fortress would last long against a large sorties of 2,000 lbs bombs raining on top of their heads. Also, if they're worried about collateral damage, then they don't need to destroy it completely, they just have to hit the fortress somewhere critical such as those large antennas on top or their bridge deck and hopefully disable the fortress putting it out of action since it can't really do anything to protect itself against a large barrage of air strikes anyways. Even with their stealth cloaks since the FILR Infrared Cameras, advanced radar systems or electronic-warfare suites would take care of that problem. Zaibach would be pissing their pants.

This also assumes they would be willing to attack something they know nothing about. Also, did they ever say anywhere how those cloaks worked, or what they could block?

Ironically, if you've seen the anime called "GATE Thus the JSDF Fought There", then you can get a good picture on how that's going to end if the Escaflowne folks plus Zaibach ever went full-attack mode against the Modern World. Only this time with more explosions plus their Floating Fortresses are literally sitting ducks to mass cruise missiles & airstrikes as soon as the Air Force & Navy shows up to make short work against these guys.

A pesar de que me dolió hasta el kokoro, creo que la escena que eligieron para el final real del anime :3 es la mejor :3 roooo las demás serían muy poco personales para los dos, aunque esa ultima de todos despidiendola y Van sonriendo al final, también hubiera sido genial si no hubiera sido tan terriblemente conveniente xD, ahi habría tres reyes en un solo lugar!... woah que Van resultara ser el dragón blanco y que Hitomi lo hubiera amado desde un principio *u* eso fue woah demasiaddo genial. Amé este anime, en verdad, es mucho mejor que cuando era niña y lo vi por primera vez, sin terminarlo hasta ahora

I didn't know that there's a deleted scene about the anime of "Tenkuu no Escaflowne (The Vision of Escaflowne)" 1. The fight scene with Van and Zaibach in the city of Tokyo. 2. Every one gets say goodbye to Hitomi before she head back to her family. P.S. I WISH THIS INCLUDES THE ANIME STORY TOO AS WELL INSTEAD OF DELETED THEM.

Yes this is a good idea with the five years but i think a new enemy for gaia will be a better idea , i like to see that zaibach and all other gaia nations fight together against a new unknown enemy , your idea is also fine. i just want to see that the dragonslayers returning back under the leadership of dilandau. btw who marked your comment as spam ???

@silverstarinthesky no sorry , its only the escaflowne remastered box version , this version has the best Quality at all. I wish like you a remake or better a total new escaflowne series.

mejor que sacaran las escenas en la tierra, en el anime original se nota que falla algo cuando van, hitomi y dilandu son transportados pero, la cuidad y los aviones, simplemente no aporta en nada. gran anime, lo acabe por 4ta vez hace unas horas, lloro con el final original pero lo prefiero, íntimo, solo de ellos...

so cool! i enjoyed every single one! thanx 4 sharing....have to say i liked the final episode, i hate when they forced a happy ending jst because.... Tenku No Escaflowne its a great story about Atlantis Legacy.....its not a Densentzu...it is real...crystals are energy catalyzers...the atlanteans and many ancient cultures knew about that.....Hitomi's pendanto was used as a pendulum to ask her higher self for answers...her card readings and the way she tried to changed the posible futures are so real. this is true magic, and Japanese people has been always conected with the spiritual world!!
