Wow! I didn't see all of these replies. Thank you so much, guys. Past the first anniversary of the game and I can't believe its been over a year now. I hope you guys give your love to the rest of the team especially the great women who lead both the narrative as well as the art and sound team, not going to name the fine people here but credits are public! Haha. Incredibly proud to have been a part of it and let's hope we get to do a project like this again in the future!

I really hope so. I'm about 2 hours in and found it to be slow. I like the art style though.

Yeah the broadness of an audience shouldn't dictate the quality of the work. Pentiment isn't a game I constantly replay like some of my top games of all time, but I still rank it up there, because it achieves exactly what it sets out to do and it does it masturfully.

I thought it was important, I didn't know what it meant before I played the game.

Yeah, you really have to go to subscription pages to make sure you see videos from people you're subscribed to, unfortunately.

I just noticed that a lot of the channels I watch most consistently and within 24 hours of a new upload are positioned there on the RU-vid app. It seems the algorithm isn't serving me your content the same, so I appreciate the extra notification. Indie games are generally much better than AAA games, which all kinda blend together.

@@Cannotbetamed1 TL; DR: Better for you, or better for me, is likely not better for most gamers. That's OK. The majority doesn't need to be corrected. You can encourage even small improvements on the tried and true and tired formula while giving more people what they want. --- I disagree with your first part but agree with your second part. Indie games are more willing to try something new or focus on elevating one part to art or masterpiece quality. They add a lot of vibrancy to the video game industry. However, sales figures alone prove that the vast majority of gamers still prefer the AAA experience. That's how I define "better." It's better for me if I like it more. If most people like it more, it's objectively better. There is a professional take on games done by people who are educated in the technical aspects of their creation, and I respect their opinion. I respect the creator of Angry Centaur Gaming reviews for that reason. Other times, I put my trust in the majority who came before. This is why I agree with your second point, that AAA games blend together, but also think it's OK. The formula stays the same because it works. Some people can whine and hate on COD all they want. The games will still be made. I like COD, especially the original Modern Warfare series. But not all AAA games are like that. Some do try to make incremental changes, a timid new step. I am sorry, but I am blanking out on good examples. You probably know better examples of what I am talking about than I do. You can do your part to help encourage change by spotlighting these improvements, without sacrificing your platform by either shunning them entirely or pandering to the least common denominator. --- The rest goes off on a tangent. I am not even convinced Persona 5 on Xbox is that big of a deal; it's new on Xbox but still a 2016 game. But I've heard it asked of you more than once, and if I wait, I'll probably forget what I want to say when it matters. Our sharing our views on what is "better" aside, I think it would benefit you more to accommodate the masses. Like playing Persona 5. 😄People love it. I share your fear of the time commitment to that. I had a trying experience with P3 and P4. I don't have to create content though. Just, if you ever play to create content, try to get help when it comes to the persona fusion, or whatever the equivalent mechanic is in P5. That easily consumed more than half of my time in P3 and P4. Also, if you are not used to simulation of Japanese high school life or have had bad experience with that, prepare yourself. Is it going to be more edifying for you or your audience than this video essay? Probably not. But I expect it will entertain more people.

It's absolutely inspired by the Name of The Rose. The book you erase at the beginning of the game is literally the beginning of that novel, and you can find a book when you break into the library that literally has the exact maps of the un-named Abbey and the labyrinthian library that you can find in the novel
