In being the voice of the voiceless this video walks through eKasi. eKasi is a Zulu term for “township,” a segregated neighborhood where black people were forced to live under apartheid. Although this is in Zimbabwe the term is still used as there are a lot of coinciding and similar themes within most high-density suburbs. A sacred word to those who live ekasi as it represents ubuntu, the food that touches the soul, the people and communal reciprocity and the struggle. This is a beautiful place where people make so much out of so little. Enjoy the video!
