The Voice Of The Salmon River 

Great video and a great way to embrace this resource we have in are back yard , I grew up in west Monroe New York a stones throw from the river…my dad would take me to the river in the mid 80s when I was knee high ….I would ask my dad why are they hurting the salmon with snagging …….he said this is not the way we’re going to fish ….we tied flys well he did and I watched….we would fish and catch with great takes ….when they banned the snagging my dad was like see …I was like you were right dad now I’m 44 years old and I have been fishing for salmon and steelhead in this magnificent river since I was 7 years old ……. My father just passed this year in may …now I tie flys as my son watches and fishes with me …….dad you were right….you will all ways will be with me for that big one.

I love the salmon river for steelhead. Fishing has been tough there the last few seasons.

Oswego's really good. The salmon river is humbling and relaxing especially once you get rid of the lifters and the snaggers. Generally salmon season is it is rough but once you get through that early steel head season it's homeboy it's peaceful

It has changed for the better over the last 20 years.
