These advancements evoke a spectrum of reactions, from excitement and admiration to doubt and fear.
The talk delves into this intricate sentiment, exploring how immersive technologies are already positively impacting individual lives. It highlights the tangible advantages of spatial computing technology today and envisions a future where digital content seamlessly integrates into daily life, offering unprecedented opportunities for progress, education, and connection.
How might the ever-evolving relationship between humans and technology redefine the very essence of reality?

I'm also hoping for the 'either-or condition' to the 'and condition'. Thank you for this wonderful session!

From ray Kurzweil's book, "the singularity is near" VR will be a huge part of our lives and it will be done via nanotechnology and neuro technology. Just imagine the awesome things we will be able to experience in the not so distant future

Nano this, Neuro that... Only missing AI to that hype soup. Meanwhile, I've been greatly enjoying cheap VR gaming for the past 6 years... no motion sickness besides in my first week or so... overblown issues. Maybe neuralink VR will be here in 20 years at best... Btw, never heard of this kid in all these years...

It is weird to me how overblown motion sickness is. Only a very small percentage experience anything that isn't adjusted to easily with adaptive exposure. VR is sick, and like all useful technology won't be stopped, but it will take a mindful approach to maintain balance and avoid dystopian outcomes as it improves.

My Pico 4 headsett and slimeVR full body tracking has turned me into a dancer. (see my channel) . Never ever would I have met these people in vrchat to dance with in my small town. So soical , learning skills there are SOOO many posibilities with this technology. We just need it to be cheaper and easier to get virtual body (full body tracking). Thanks for this talk , amazing!!! (Future is exciting, combine vr / ar with AI controlled bots and things... its gonna explode)

I also can't stand the VR headsets and can't wait for the new form factors with true AR glasses but I agree: this is the inevitable future and we have to get ready for it.

What have you tried? I really think the quest 3 with a better facial interface and strap is pretty damn comfortable, but it is weird to me that the product you buy as is is notoriously uncomfortable. Kinda counterintuitive for companies that want mass adoption. I'm a VR enthusiast, but also an outdoor, physical health enthusiast that takes time to seclude myself in nature away from technology and practice meditation. Mindful living becomes harder if I don't. Self moderation and balance becomes more and more important as technology improves and algorithms get better at exploiting our reward pathways.

@@shaneg8029 Well even the Apple Vision is heavy and bulky, and the battery are super heavy.

@@damiengauthier yeah I can't comment on that, out of my price range, send like a premium proof of concept device that probably wouldn't be comfortable, especially since they insist on making all their products with metal, even when it's not practical.

At the moment i hate vr because it's very unpolished at the moment. In the future, I believe it will become one of the biggest industries in the world

Hopefully these technologies will never find mass adoption. We don't need more, we need less.

@@AdrianGE98 no it's not, it's just a new business opportunity in tech with near to zero value for a "normal" consumer living a "normal" live. Adoption is just a wish for techy people
