Sue - I am so sad to read this. God bless you, your daughter and your family. If I am not mistaken, this song is written by Julie Miller of Texas, wife of guitarist, Buddy Miller. Julie had a VERY sad and difficult life she describes in a video somewhere on RU-vid. Possibly her most famous song is "All My Tears," a song recorded by very many people in many places, including Emmylou Harris. I have lately been sad that I was never able to have a child because of a disease I have; my two sisters and I were born with that disease which was trasmitted to us by our late, sweet father (a decorated WWII Army Officer, POW and I have two friends whose three children are all deceased from that didease. I accepted long ago that my horses, my cats and my dogs are just my children, however, I am always aware that I just CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE for the life of me what it is like to lose a child. I feel so deeply for you.
I pray that things get better for your family and I don’t know 🤷♀️ you or your family but I know that your daughter is in a better place I wish you and family a good 😌 life and beyond 🥲😇
Whats amazing about these three young ladies is there's no weak link, they are all tremendous singers. One of the few groups that actually makes you happy just listen to them.
You've been taken by the wind You have known the kiss of sorrow Doors that would not take you in Outcast and a stranger Chorus: You have come by way of sorrow You have come by way of tears But you'll reach your destiny Meant to find you all these years Meant to find you all these years You have drunk a bitter wine With none to be your comfort You who once were left behind Will be welcome at love's table Chorus All the nights that joy has slept Will awake to days of laughter Gone the tears that you have wept You'll dance in freedom ever after Chorus
They were highly esteemed at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow in years gone by and rightly so too. There is a clear Celtic root to there sound and breath-takingly new-wordly. They are awesome!
I'm so happy I finally discovered the Wailin' Jenny's! They're an Incredible group! Very talented, and awesome harmony to say the least!!!!! WOW!!! I Love their STYLE OF MUSIC!!!
Sweet tears run from tired eyes looking back over my shoulder and back again, looking forward now in this new morning, upward, onward to the destiny that awaits down this river of tears
There is no such thing as a 'bad' version of this Julie Miller TREASURE, but this is one of the best, and most heartfelt, as much as I ADORE Cry Cry Cry's version with Larry Campbell's phenomenal fiddle playing as accompaniment. ;) These women are BEYOND amazing, both vocally AND instrumentally, and their harmonies sound as if they were BORN to sing together!!
Instantly stirred my soul and moved me to tears of profound emotion and beauty. Thank you with all my heart for this gift...it's been years since any music has touched me this deeply.
Wow! You are great and I'm so happy I stumbled across you! Haven't heard such beautiful voices in some time. I have no idea how anyone, let alone 10 people would give this a thumbs down!
YES, 'haunting' is the best description. You are not human if you don't get 'chicken skin' while listening to this version of one of the best songs EVER written!! THANK YOU Julie for writing this ode to hope and redemption, and THANK YOU Jennys for covering it so purely!!!!
Marley. Like the stories from the cafe. Well, this one made me cry...how could the country that put the arm on the shuttle fail to distribute such PURR GOLD with the world ... Oh I can hear the American President now....*Dr Strangelove, do we have such fine talent here?*
At one point a girl sang with you guys...looked like a stairwell and the girl wrote a few originals but my favorite was a cover she did of Crazy Love by Van Morrison ...she did it for her parents anniversary. I've looked for months trying to find her channel again. If by some chance you remember her..could you please point me in the direction of her channel? Please? It's starting to make me crazy because I told my husband he MUST listen to her cover but I've been unable to find her. Any help would be appreciated..I feel like her name may have been Elle something..?
