I started in the hobby in 1996 when I was still in the Army I got 4 Fantasy Armies and 3 dragons 🐉 and a Hydra when a mate of mine was throwing them out in the barracks Skip bin 😂😂😂 his Mrs at the time gave him the ultimatum her or his toys 😂😂😂 so it went from there and I kept all of them even when Gay Workslop stabbed us in the back 😂😂😂
Love that paladin, shame the grail knights needed a lot of cleaning. Im still a bit sour on this because they killed half of the most important factions, especially since they had a lot of cool minis released for aos, especially vampire counts.
Your channel is by far one of the best when it comes to the nostalgia of The Old World. You are doing amazing things with classic sculpts that is just so inspiring! I cannot wait to see you dive into more Bretonnia and Orcs & Goblins goodies!

I'm still waiting for the Tomb Kings starter to be printed; along with my Arcane Journal (Tomb Kings). Got Forces of Fantasy and Ravening Hordes and some bits and bobs for the Kings but no main army.
Fantastic paint job on the Paladin. I am working on the Settra model myself so will be keen to see what you do with it. I have thrown out the old skeletal horses and have printed some better ones.
The Knight is fantastic. I must have had my back turned when the Old World tsunami hit. I thought I was standing there with open arms but every item I’d wanted was gone in a blink.
Since you comment on the better quality of the resin, as far as i know all new resin kits are made by Forgeworld, which technically also belongs to GW i think but it might explain the change in material for these new minis.
Kislev was actually the first faction that was announced when GW said they would be returning The Old World, and after that there was no more mention of Kislev Also, really good paintjob 🔥
TOW, as a project, probably went through a major overhaul in the first year or two of development. It's more than likely that a mix of upper management's apprehension towards Fantasy, combined with the realities of GW's already bottlenecked production and logistical capacity, triggered a major downsizing in the scope and scale of the project. I would like TOW to succeed, but it's hard not to notice the discrepancy between the the time the property spent in development and the, let's be honest here, meager launch offerings. It's also hard not to notice the lack of resources being put into TOW inspite of the asking price of consumers. I mean, the TOW team consists of like 3 or 4 people, and they're clearly not getting what they need to refresh the kits that desperately need it - ie, anything in metal, the 20+ year old skeletons, etc etc.
They showed Kislev previews/concept art back in 2020 so I suspect them at least will eventually be in TOW but probably got pushed back with all that happened. I just hope they get released in the next year or two. I'm holding on on them for my "human" faction.
Beautiful work on the paladin. I am doing my best to avoid the resin, kinda hope if sales of everything but resin are good maybe GW get the message and give us the plastic.
Be warned, Settra is a PAIN IN THE ARSE to build. I've given up altogether and I'm just having a mate do it up for me, the chariot itself is okay but the bone-arch that connects to the crossbar, the standard at the back, and Settra's arms and beard are nightmarish to get to stick together.
Stunning work on the Bretonnian I picked up the Old World books from my FLGS yesterday, been happily reading them and also dug out all my 5th and 6th edition WFB army books and suppliments and have been reading through them to compare the differences

would love to get some old world stuff but it is 100% sold out in the US and the only things my stores by me have are the army boxes which i dont need.

Been playing Warhammer Fantasy since I was 10 (24 years ago now) and I’ve played 2 games of Old World… it’s a lovely game. If you loved Fantasy back then, you’ll love Old World. It’s different enough, yet, still tastes like it used to

I’m looking at making a gaming board a wee bit different and make a board with an edge so I can fill it with sand or dirt so if I want to change it around I can 😂😂😂

I've been buying resin character models for Blood Bowl and Necromunda, and they are pretty darn good for the most part. I still wouldn't buy a resin vehicle though.
As to Resin, people seem to be broken by the finecast debaucle of years past. But modern Forge World resin sculpts, such as you are painting here, are of excellent quality and go together well. People really need to let go of this notion that anything resin related is automatically bad.
The antagonism towards it isn't so much driven by the attitude of "it's bad", but rather by the fact that resin is just a bigger pain to work with than modern GW plastic. Moreover, there's the stigma around paying FW prices on top of the already high regular GW prices. Once upon a time, the argument was the RW resin provided a high level of detail, but over the last few years it's felt like the difference is either negligible or outright in favor of GW's more recent plastic sculpts. The reality is if TOW wants to stick around for the long run it'll need to attract new players - and unfortunately pumping out resin and metal, especially metal, is not the way to do that.
Thanks mate! I use Dryad as the base colour and then mix in small amount of Doombull brown to highlight. To finish I use a mix of doombull and Skragg for that last edge highlight :) I hope that helps!
Really impressed with the rulebook. Index kind of sucks, but the lore sections are pretty great, at pages are nice, rules are relatively clearly laid out with good illustrations. Way too huge and chunky to be a practical game table reference, but even that's kind of nostalgic.
Yeah it really does have some nice lore and the aesthetic of it is great. I wanted to bring it on my flight today to flick through but I don’t think it’s light enough for carry on baggage 😝😂
Beautiful paint job on that tonsured paladin. You were right to choose the bald bonce. So your wife is due to be playing Skaven (my favourites, so sad they're not in the core factions), but what are you playing? It's a toss up between High Elves and Chorfs I'm guessing.

I heard that there will be! But I’m guessing a lot of the characters will be in the resin. It’s still early days so fingers crossed we get some great plastic kits as well.
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m actually not that excited about the Old World. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad it’s back, but I believe GW really dropped the ball when they got rid of Warhammer fantasy. AOS really sucks as do all the armies and mini’s, Warhammer was always better, but that’s just my 2 cents worth. Your paint jobs really are getting better all the time. You’ve got a great channel, keep pumping out the great videos.
Yeah man that’s totally understandable! Completely agree with how they dropped the ball and mismanaged an important game and setting. It’s a damn shame and pretty sad what happened.
