Great review to sum up the written article. Get well soon. Demo-ed SA6U from a local community member and loved it so much but was going to settle on a Xenns Top for an upgrade from current lineup. I'm so glad I waited and will pick up the MK2!
Hey surge I’m trying to make the decision between the Xenns Tops and the Mk2 right now. What was the determining factor for you? (I’m Trying to upgrade from Titan S and Performer 5)
had troubles picking an iem, tried xenns top, sa6U and meteor. ultimately went for the meteor as it suits my playlists more. glad to see ur review on this, feels like i didn't make the wrong choice
Just goth mine 2 weeks ago, having hard time how to fit it In ears, finaly found that Best way for me is to use Candy version 1 size smaller than always and place em deep In ear. They ar just amayzing over all.
Great video as always Timmy! Might pick up the Mk2 after missing the Ultras, it'd be my first all-BA pair. Take care of yourself, don't worry about anything else 👍
Nice vid, as usual on point and none too much unneeded additives. Lovin' the MK2 even with my Ultra. They can be alternates to each other, and I'm in the camp of appreciating that extra punch and added air. Doesn't mask the mids at all for me.
Nice review. The Ultra with bass switch on is a touch too much for my liking. Also, the treble is purrfect on the Ultra. The MKII might be sibilant at times for my grunge library. If I didn't have the Ultra, I would probably go for the Kiwi Orchestra lite at only 250 USD.
I'm kinda on the fence between saving up for an elysian gaea, or getting an sa6 mk2 and maybe variations for versatility's sake, so I'd be curious to see how gaea would compare to mk2, or if I should just give up on this hobby and stop bleeding money ;-; Still thanks for the review though
I was in the same boat and decided to take the leap and got the Elysian diva. Holy shit. Worth it. Nothing else I have or have tried comes close. Granted the more expensive iem I have is $650, but still. I just want to sell everything I have and only listen to the diva
@@saulcontreras4686 most hip hop, pop, and rock. I love good bass and forward vocals with a lot of clarity, detail, and resolution. The diva gives all of that better than anything I’ve tried so far
Great vid, thank you! Wondering if there can be some unit variation in the SA6, especially around the bass. I had both the ultra and the original SA6 and my ultra definitely has more bass than the original, which seems to contradict the measurements in the review. Nevertheless, starting to get a bit hyped for the mk2...
Hi Timmy. For psychedelic metal, grunge, rock which one would you pick, Xenns Top or SA6MKII. I am wondering which performs better in stage, details, midrange weight? Hard choice for me.
Nice review as always. Very straight forward. Now which one do you think will suit on most genres between xenns top and these? For pure musical enjoyment. I alreay bought the og orchestra last year, thanks for your rec on that, tho now I'm missing some bass. Hope you can answer this question.
As a SA6 owner, I think the Mk2 isn’t worth the cost for me. I’m pretty satisfied with the tuning. I think I would rather got for something with a different tuning
I was interested in the Ultra due to its legendary reputation and rarity. After seeing the FRs though, I don't think I would like it due to the flat pinna gain region. I'm pretty sure I would have never given the Ultra a second thought if it wasn't unobtanium so good job Dunu marketing team, you knew what you were doing.
Hi, I'm new to the IEM scene. I mostly listen to over-ears headphones. My favorite sound signature comes from the ZMF Aeolus. How do these compare to those? Are there IEMs that have a similar sound to the Aeolus? Thanks.
Awesome video! I own a pair of Dunu's dk 3001-pro. How do you say the SA6 MkII differ? in terms of tuning, sound signature, etc. Is it worth the upgrade? Thanks!
Hello, question, mainly for gaming but also for anything else too, would it be best this dunu sa6 MK2 ou moondrop variations? I would love to see a full on comparison between the two, because in video they seem to be on the same level but on tier list they seem to be really on different leagues :p. Thank you for anyone kind enough to give their thoughts on the subject :). ( After my search I'm leaning to get dunu sa6mk2 or variations for my first iem ). I am used to my akg k712 pro.
I've bought the Xenns Top to 'upgrade' my Timeless and seriously, they are kinda different, Xenns top are not the SA6 but from what i can say, they have more bass and detailed than the Timeless but in a different way, they feel more complete, hard to explain. The Timeless have more details in the sibilance, treble area than the Top, you feel more of drum symbals overall and they sound a little bit more 'metallic' than the Top. The Timeless are seriously good for their price. Still one of my favorite so far. If i was picking only one between the two, i'll pick the Top because they are more complete, but you are in business with the Timeless, they compete with the $500 range iem.
@@ALXqc Yea I do like my timeless, however I feel like there is something missing? Looking at Timmy's ranking where the Timeless is at B tier and SA6 MK2 at S- is the reason why I'm considering the upgrade. And if I am going to upgrade it would have to be an end game iem and 600$ is the most I could spend ;D
@@sanchi2315 I think the TImeless is a good IEM, but I also felt that "missing" aspect, and that has more to do with tuning as well as technical performance. Timeless is way too V Shaped for my personal enjoyment even if it has good resolution. If youre looking for an upgrade in this price catagory, I really like the Moondrop S8 a lot since its fun but not that intense listen like the Timeless is. Still has good bass growl but with great details and somehow still is mid-focused, its really freaking impressive. The Variations is still pretty intense, but I think less so than the Timeless and it sounds more natural. Heres a few others I own if you want a reference from my upgrade journey from my first IEM, the Timeless: Blessing 2 original is a good IEM, but it lacks bass and warmth so it can feel like a very sterile listen imo for many. I havent tried the Dusk Kato is a very warm listen without the crazy dyanimics that the Timeless has, with still very solid detail. I think the fit on these is a little weird, but theyre a very very solid IEM. Liked these better than Blessing 2 for sure Monarch Mk2, which is the most resolving and detailed neutral IEM you could buy within a "reasonable" price range. They wont "wow" you on first listen, but they are incredibly immersive and will never feel piercing, shouty, bass bloated, etc with any song at any volume with any amplification. Theyre just stupidly big in the ears. Anyone saying the Blessing 2 or Variations is "way too big" should not even remotely consider the Monarch Mk2. It fits me, and even I can acknowledge its a very big piece I also own a Unique Melody Mest Mk2, and the imaging on that is the best Ive heard from an IEM. It has a long of bass and mids, so its a very punchy listen with amazing imaging, but I think it can be a little intense similar to the Timeless. That being said, these have much more detail. Fit is similar to Moondrop IEMs like the Blessing 2 or the S8 The Shour S12 is a better tuned Timeless for less money imo lol. But I dont think its without its faults either, it also has some flaws in its tuning, just less than the Timeless has. I owned both and I sold my Timeless and kept the S12 because it was just a better IEM imo. Similar fit to the Moondrop Kato.
Meteor has a darkish tuning due to it's 5 khz dip. However it has lots of energy in the higher treble region. An anti ChiFi tuning if you ask me so you can't compare it to Variations and SA6U which rather follow Harman target.
Need help giz or anyone , looking at , xenns mk2 , and thieaudio clairvoyance, sa6 mk2 . Overall best vocals separation , stage , instruments . Please help a hard choice to make , anyone ?
Probably Variations or Top, but Ill also throw in the Moondrop S8 if you can afford it or find a good deal. They have that vocal forward tuning you want from anime music but also have solid bass definition and great treble extension. A very special IEM for those genres
No mention on the fit of the shell even though it looks very different from the others. Showing us how it fits, if it sticks out, etc, is something that almost no other reviewer bothers to do, except for Super Review, and it is very useful. The fact that people's ears are different doesn't matter as much, at least we have some kind of reference. You said emphatically that it is an obvious upgrade if you want more bass, but later you also said you can get the same results by activating the bass switch on the iem you already have, so I found the review confusing. (Edited to filter my unfair bluntness)
I think that this channel is one of the best just for showing the quick and dirty sound comparison. If you’re really thinking about buying something then I feel you must watch the longer reviews where they examine the shape and compare it to more products that you might have. Not many people even own the SA6 Ultra so it seems like a moot comparison overall. I would agree though, we need more Timmy modeling with the IEMs in.
The kind of entitlement people have nowadays 🤷♂️. If you want something on others' channel, you suggest. You don't go demanding stuff in a rude manner. Anyway it seems like you have no better channels to watch since you always end up coming back to this channel 😂
I have both.. sa6u and meteor.. for the dynamic and push, the meteor is more better(edm, electo, pop, 90s rock, etc.) the only music genre that i used my sa6u is classical.. otherwise, the meteor is more fun.. the strength is the bass and the high trible.. excellent bass for a full BA ( and I compare against ie600 and xennis up)
Why don't you talk about the cable? I bought this IEM, heavily after your recommendation. The Hulk Mini (included cable) is absolutely terrible and as soon as it touches ANYTHING it's incredibly loud. A 10€ cable from Tripowin is better. I don't get this, there's more to a IEM than signature. No build materials oversight etc? What?
