Let's be honest here, the scene where Negan wanted to make Rick cut carls arm off should've won an award, the acting was insane there

Despite how graphic the episode was, I have to say the acting was just amazing all around

Fun fact about the dinner scene is that it was the last shot taken of the episode because the filming was so heavy and emotionally draining for the actors. It was a chance for everyone to unwind together, so that shot was just them hanging out and talking.

Don't know if it was talked about, but the episode title "a day will come when you won't be" is a nod to the first season. The scientist guy let's Rick and company leave the CDC and Rick says, "I'm Grateful" and the scientist replies, "the day will come when you won't be." Really good writing and foreshadowing!

The dude who played Glen wanted to get his comic book death. It's a pretty significant death. I think season 7 has some major pacing issues but it's one of my fav seasons.

They filmed everyone's death scene to bloody the waters in case of leaks.

This is Television at it's peak, never seen anything this fucking good, and i don't think i ever will, absolutely magnific

I agree with what Molly said. Daryl retaliated believing that he would be the one punished, but he didn't know that Negan wants him alive. So Negan's "no exceptions" rule would fall onto someone else, which happened to be Glenn because of his own outburst in the S6 finale.

Andy was so into it, even the snort-cry "it could be me, please" ... only a handful of actors could ever purrform like that. It was purrfect! A shy meow from Switzerland. :)

7:01 is the ultimate visual representation of sadness, being tired from extreme stress, and being unsure of what can be done.

It was extremely graphic yes, however, so was the comic. The comic even had Glen's eye popping out too...it was a huge moment in the comics and the show wanted to capture the huge moment as well. It sure did.

Look closely and Sasha is preggars at the table next to Abraham, and goes back to the convo he had in the rv with her saying he could do it now, now they are together. Another punch in the gut coming out of this horrific episode!

Fun fact: this episode is as written all they way back during season 5. Glenn and Abe’s actors were told that were both going to be killed off, and also Maggie and Sasha going Hilltop together was also written in, which is why they had that scene of them bonding watching the sunset when they meet Arron.

I can't understand why non of these actors have won an emmy especially Andrew Lincoln!

The gore was definitely necessary to help show just how traumatizing that was for everyone.

This was the episode that did it for me. A few episodes after this I just couldn't watch for a while, I took a break for almost two seasons. This episode will unfortunately never leave you.

A hill to die on: This scene is just as perfect as Breaking Bads Ozymandias.

I loved the close with "when your dead inside" my facial expressions were exactly the same when I saw this the end made me weep even more

One of the greatest TV episode in history, easy..

I believe this was one of their greatest episodes of all time. It was so emotionally draining watching it at the time, but looking back at it, everything about this episode worked and the graphic gore was on point in my opinion and brings the comics to life in this way. This episode was meant to shock and it did.

Episodes like this always surprise me with how emotionally invested I am in these characters,...great reaction guys...and top notch quick editing Lia.

Amazing reaction, Andrew Lincoln was absolutely Brilliant in this and everyone else was great too, to me this is one of the best episodes ever, it was perfectly put together, the way they showed who died by Negan telling Rick to think of what happened (then they show it) and think of what could still happen(then as Rick killed Walker's he saw everyone else getting hit with Lucille) also the title of the episode "The Day Will Come When You Wont Be" is a call back to the Season 1 finale when Rock told Dr Jenner that he was Gratefull and Jenner replied "Tje Day Will come when you won't be ", brilliant, and while I agree they didn't need to go as gruesome as they did, they had to do Glenn the way he was with his eye because that's the exact way Glenn died in the comics, also Negan is absolutely brutal but he has jokes like look at my girl(lucille) she's a vampire bat, funny if it wasn't so awful, cant wait for more reactions, I am not like a bunch of people who don't like this season and the next, I liked em when they aired and liked em more and more with each rewatch, in face Season 8 is my 3rd favorite season, while s7 is only in front of season 1 in 9th place I still love it and all the seasons

I binged the first 6 seasons of the show and got up to date the day of the S7 premiere, this episode shook me to my core, an unbelievable episode of television. Andrew Lincoln deserves every award possible for this performance.

My man messed up that group’s entire livelihoods and then just said “ta-ta.” Negan is the goddamn best.

When they were filming the death scenes, they filmed one for everyone and Maggie’s was leaked. It was badass, as she was dying she spit a ball of blood right at Negan, I love her so much.

"The day will come when you won't be." That is what Jenner at the CDC back in season 1 said to Rick when he said he was grateful for Jenner giving them a chance.

No matter how many times I watch that scene when they are all in the lunch table eating together with Glenn, Abraham and everyone...I fight a losing battle not to let my tears drop....

Watching you three just gave me flashbacks of watching it with my friends all those years ago, a truly shocking episode made that much better by the actors

That dinner table scene is always what does it for me. It's just the nail in the coffin for how heartbreaking this episode is.

I've always wondered, at 7:15 when Morgan moved his arm was that a baby-bump on Sasha? -The one that WOULD have been there, in the Happily Ever After..

So many miss that at the dinner table when they zoom in, it appears that Sasha would be pregnant.

When they were filming this premier, they actually shot a couple of different people getting killed by Negan jic there was a plot leak during the break. You can actually find a scene on RU-vid where Negan kills Maggie instead, which was meant to throw off trolls and leakers.

This was one of my favorite episodes! Amazing acting and so much comic goodness!

How Andrew Lincoln didn't win several Emmys for his performance on this show is beyond me.

I remember watching the premiere of this episode with a group watch party during my freshman year of college. I was not okay for like 2 weeks after that. I was literally like Molly when she sent that text in part 1.

One of the best episodes of TWD even though we lost 2 amazing characters🙌🏻. Hope y’all keep up the uploads, ready to see y’all catch up eventually (I love season 9 & 10).

One of the best and devastating episodes of the series I still remember the numbness I felt when it came off I didn’t even wanna come to school that next morning I couldn’t deal!!!!!!!!!

Neegan is probably one of the best played bad guys I have seen in quite some time.

In the comics, Abe's the one who was killed with the crossbow bolt through the head. That was given to Denise in the show.

i know i commented the same thing in part 1 but glen and abraham were the only ones who openly defied negan. abraham by keeping his chin held high and giving negan that glare, and glen when he ran from his spot to defend maggie. if it wasnt going to be here, negan was going to find another way to kill glen. he wasnt about to let that defiance stand. i will die on this hill: it wasnt daryl's fault. (also yes my last name is very unfortunate.)

This shows that if a pandemic like this were to happened, it's the humans that will truly be evil!!

I've seen this episode multiple times and I still feel sooo much anxiety with the Rick/Carl arm moment!

I think it being graphic is what this show use to be so I love that it went there and they honored Glenn death by staying true to comics with doing exactly how he looked plus they had to do it so we would hate Negan.

I definitely love the thought process of having Abraham's death be the end of the prior season and Glenn's death being the beginning of the new season. You're totally right that Abraham's death was overshadowed and I hadn't considered this thought process prior.

I really don't feel that the graphic nature of this episode is any more then many other scenes i the show but its the added emotion on top of it that gives it more weight and for that reason this episode is my favorite of the entire series for the areas that it touches on and the acting is incredible!

Negan ahh my man.....BEST CHARACTER OF THE SHOW. PERIOD.

I know this show is not perfect, but WHERE are the Emmy nods for Andrew Lincoln? Even JDM... The performances in this episode were some of the best in the series. I know you guys think that the gore was a little too much, but it was needed in order to progress the story. If Negan just shot Glenn and Abe, everyone would still hate him and want him dead, but they weren't going for that. They wanted Negan to be irredeemable. It's not just that he killed them, but it's the way he did it, and they stayed true to the comics which is always a plus for me.

The actors are like family, and they didn't tell anyone until the reading who was going to die, except Steven and Micheal. That way the shock and sadness would be more real. Steven Micheal had to somehow suppress the urge to tell anyone.

it took me months to watch S7 episodes, i dreaded 7x1. after abraham and glenn, the dinner of what would never be is what really got me. and seeing negan break rick down like he did. i cried and cried. not only did they show maggie and glenn's son, seeing sasha pregnant just put me over the edge, again. the violence was bad, but i still didn't want the show to be censored. i felt this is the way the show had to be.

When I watched the episode It was just like any normal episode because I already knew they were going to die and The Gore Was definitely Needed it didn't gross me out I have seen Dead bodies before

I'm cring like a baby all over again even tho I've seen it ten times! This is the darkest day of TWD hands down and is a game changer for sure!! Glen and Abe are gone! Wtf!! Negan made an impressionable intro and is a fucking psycho! He's go good looking yet such an asshole! Maggie and Ricks acting were Emmy worthy for sure and the whole cast really! The ending with Glen holding his son was heart wrenching and hearing Negans voice over it! So sad, how do we get outta this one!? I feel for u girls, knew this was gonna be a tough one!!

I don't think Abraham's death was at random. He was the only one in the lineup who didn't show an ounce of fear, and he rose when Negan approached him.

This was crazy. I feel bad for Courtney and Molly. They watched the most brutal episode on the show at 1 am. Courtney said it was 1:13 am in the reaction to the cliffhanger. I hope they continue. I know they might have had nightmares. It's such a very well done episode. It does not only break the characters down, but it breaks the viewers too. Wow.

First time I noticed that Morgan's wife came back for that weird scene.

Daryl always acts out in protection, like a guard dog. He couldn’t accept Negan tormenting Rosita and lashed out. HOWEVER the only one at fault is Negan. Negan killed Glenn, it was his action, his choice. Let’s not victim blame like “he was asking for it”
