@@BatuUlucay Negans actions were always justified, ricks group killed dozens of his men and all negan did was make them give them resources and killed a couple of them?
Eh not exactly. Negan's group still basically pillaged & wiped out communities. Saviors just went the long way about it as his "1/2 of everything" policy isn't sustainable. Also I don't remember Rick's people having pics of mutilated people as like a trophy collection.
@@SuperMaxx64but Negan would’ve never even came after Rick’s group if they didn’t ambush Negan’s outpost and execute a ton of his people. Rick is just as much of a “bad guy” as Negan. It’s all about perspective
@@loganmohon9203 ^ eh you can’t guarantee that. As Negan might’ve already been onto Rick’s group. Daryl + Abe + Sasha had already ran into one of Negan’s group leaders. And that Negan group had to be taken out b/c they were going to execute Abe & Sasha . Negan/Rick conflict essentially started right there. Plus Negan might’ve also discovered Alexandria after Hillside & Alexandria interjected with each other. Folks trying to use the outpost slaying to say Rick’s group is evil is folly. Negan’s group had already killed members of hilltop, would’ve killed members of Rick’s group in Sasha/Abe, and that outpost had a montage of bashed in skull victims as trophies. Compare Negan & Rick policies for meeting new people. How ppl can say Rick & Negan are same is crazy… Rick’s : How many walkers have you killed? How many people have you killed? Why? Negan’s: Your stuff is ours and we have to kill at least one of you now. Then we’ll meet your community each week for 1/2 your stuff of our choosing. If you stuff isn’t up to our liking we’ll kill more ppl (like they did to hilltop).
@@antoineppp4377 it was very necessary if a group of 9 killed 20 or 30 of you’re men you would wanna kill those 9 people who did it they are lucky they only killed Glenn and red head because someone like me wouldn’t let that slide Negan was being soft he should have killed everyone but you don’t have the guts to be a good decent leader that’s why you think it’s wrong
Glenn wasn’t part of that tho yall he only got killed because of Daryl punching him in the face the only person who was supposed to die because of them shooting up a lot of his people was Abraham that’s it then Daryl’s dumbass punched him and pissed him off then he bashed Glenn’s head because of that
@@Miakapakafikafounyep. Jeffrey Dean Morgan (the actor playing Negan) is married to the woman who plays Lucille in real life. It’s cool that they included her.
he isn't really the villain. he does what he does to survive. same with Rick. Rick's group did a lot of killing of the living to survive only because there was no listening to reason. the last time rick tried to get someone (the governor) to trust him, it resulted in an all-out war at the prison and the death of Hershal. Rick sees anyone as a threat after that. he didn't want to let any group get the chance to strike first, so he struck first at one of the sanctuary outposts, and it started the whole thing. Negan may have done some bad things like getting communities to get food for him and his group or killing people to show fear, but that was only to survive. people do things for survival
Actually what started it was the saviors trying to steal the truck and even after they were gonna hand it over they were still gonna kill Rick's guys so daryl fried them with a RPG
@@-Homelander. isn't really a villain. Why does everyone not point out his other shit. Forces women to be concubine Forces the saviors to kneel every time he walks by them. In addition they have to say I'm Negan. He forced Hilltop long before Rick to pay tribute once-a-week. They stole all the guns. On top of that they have to get supplies for him and if they're short someone will die. Ezekiel had to make a deal just to keep them out of the Kingdom.
I agree. That’s exactly right. Retaliation isnt wrong either. Everything is to survive in that world. Not to forgive, not to forget. But to understand your opponent. Which can also help you survive.
@@ohnoowo yea negan did the right thing by killing Glenn and red head if he killed everyone he would have been a big group maybe an actual society but Rick wanted revenge Rick wanted what was his then at the end he didn’t even kill negan the show has terrible writing tbh
@ox2215 Killing Abe and Glenn was fucked up...not the right thing. Negan was just showing Rick who's boss. Daryl punching him exacerbated shit which got Glen killed but he chose to kill Abe. Take down the tough as nails, rough as guts big guy who backs down to nothing/no-one. Ya can't help but like the guy though. I hated him when he killed Abe and Glen but it didn't last too long. Even when he's being a prick, he's hilarious. Look how he turned out too. Bad guy turned good.
Negan's only bad decision was killing Glenn and Abraham, which he desperately regrets doing. He is a survivor, just like Rick. Rick has done heinous shit too in the name of survival and his people. Negan is just the shows antagonist so ofc we think he's a bad guy. Just because we are bad guys... doesn't mean we are... bad, guys.
When he told Maggie if he could do it all again he would have done it differently Negan "I would have killed every one of you that night" Instead of telling Maggie what she wanted to hear
This episode felt like it wasn't just Negan's background story, felt like it was trying to show u why he's the way he is. The world went to shit for everyone, not just him. There is nothing that can make me sympathise with Negan
si pero el grupo de rick no extorsionaban a los demas grupos nigan no solo le hiso daño al la comunidad de rick le hiso daño a las demas comunidades robandoles sus suministros
Yup... He lost his wife so this makes everything he did ok in the viewers eyes. Negan is weak if anything..... letting one death make him go mad when others lost everything and still never hurt a fly.
I dont know why they didn't just use the comic origin of negan. He becomes this way after his wife dies, but after seeing everybody he ever grouped up with dying before his eyes. It got to the point where he decided enough is enough, and he would do everything in his own power to keep his people alive. He kills the previous leader of the group that would become the saviors with the bat because he allowed rape and this sparked the final change in him, wrapping the bat in the nearby barbed wire, claiming the group will be the saviors
@Temps dg it was a one shot comic just going into his origins it wasn't released as an actual issue of walking dead. Easy to find and read online. Called "Heres Negan"
No offense but this is kinda a bad ill informed comment, though that's probably a result of watching a yt short with not enough context Not once did the show imply that the loss of his wife was somehow a justification for the wrongdoings he does in the future. Negan didn't go mad after his wife died he never really did if anything he got power hungry which was something that happened over the course of many years and only became worse when Rick showed up. After this scene he literally saved people from men who were actually scumbags and hurting others...the irony of you stating that "when others lost everything and still never hurt a fly" when Rick literally went insane after Lori's death a woman who was less faithful to Rick than Lucille was to Negan is funny but understandable Rick and his group have hurt plenty of people, many people seem to just ignore of forget it so here are a few examples. Rick killed saviours who were prisoners of war after promising them a fresh start (these saviours were actually trustworthy they let Rick and Morgon live and even gave them their weapons back to fight alongside them against a horde of walkers yet he still backstabbed them one saviour's last words were something along the lines of "why" and Rick replies "I lied"), killed saviours who were workers (yea some of those people in satellite station were also workers shocker right?), he killed a man at hilltop for trying to save his brother (the man was tasked to deliver Gregory's head to the saviours, keep in mind Gregory ended up being a cowardly rat scumbag but Rick's speratic decision making caused them significantly more problems by keeping him alive), Rick literally made a baby fatherless and so on. Negan has done much worse but the show already addresses all of that with substantial development, they literally had a scene where Negan is talking to his old self in his head and belittles that version of him, probably one of his best scenes in the entire series.
To add on, the other person who replied seems to be heavily mistaken all of these events from the comicbook 1 off that this episode was based on did occur in the show to a certain extent they just didn't have the time to showcase all of that since this episode was specifically made during COVID. Negan did lose people over the years and Negan did reach a breaking point where he would eventually take over the saviours before they were called the saviours. The main difference is that the show and dead city spin off has Simon and The Croat 2 saviour characters that were not in the comicbooks but are essentially replacements for the comicbooks "old leader" dead city is expanding upon the "here's negan" 1 off so that's why they didn't adapt it exactly the same they have bigger plans for the character.
Sometimes you have to cut something of from yourself to survive, he killed his past self as soon as he walked through that door. In a cruel world you become cruel to survive
For those saying Rick would be the villain if we watched from Negan’s perspective, please stop. Negan became basically a mafia boss. Rick killed antagonists, he did not kill people from other groups to scare them and extort supplies from them.
The only thing I don't like about this episode that was in the comic was it didn't show his steady decline into what he became it was just kinda sudden in the show
Negan/shane are kind of in a way similar both learned the hard truth before anyone else and became savages learned to survive while shane was stuck on lori like a love sick puppy dog negan was straight up a leader had multiple personalities disorder from the trauma he went through and became what everyone feared shane and negan i bet they would definitely face off both survivalists before anyone else facing off against each other.
I personally think the bat should have belonged to Lucille like if it was her baseball games that she just kept it around because it was her favorite I think that would’ve gave me get a better reason to really keep that bad and have so much value to it because in all reality it was just giving to him and not to mention he got hit with it from a stranger
