The year is 2013, you’re 12 years old and it’s 9pm on a Sunday night and you’re sitting in the living room with your father and older brother and this soundtrack comes on..time is beautiful and valuable.
Yes bro take me back I watched the very first episode, no internet no nothing just pure tv and atmosphere was different hearing and watching this as it was the 1st ever zombies to stream on Television
It might sound dumb to some people but hearing this tonight brought tears to my eyes. This show has been such a huge part of my life since 2010 and now it's ending. I still remember how excited I was back in 2010 when I found out there was going to be a TV show about zombies. I'd never heard of The Walking Dead before then and I was blown away when I watched the first episode; I thought it was the greatest thing ever. My favorite seasons were those early ones, seasons 1-5. Hearing this song now, and seeing that iconic image of Rick on that horse riding in to Atlanta ("Do not enter the city. It belongs to the dead now") brings back so many memories, of Glenn saving Rick, Amy at the camp, Jim under the tree, Hershel's farm, Sophia...endless memories, both in the show and in real life. Friends and family who were alive when this show started are no longer here and I miss them. I'll miss this show too.
Same mate same. I remember when the first episode aired on History TV 18 channel and I stumbled upon it at my grandparents home. Just finished the final season and ready for the 3 spinoffs.
During first seasons this intro really made you feel like the world ended and is a scary place where you need to be alert at every moment, now the atmosphere is gone.
I'm currently binging the series for the first time, at the beginning of season 4 now (RIP Merle man, I came to really like him near the very end when he was trying to redeem himself). As a first time viewer I honestly think it excels most when it's more character driven drama rather than horror survival when it shows more about people just trying to survive and the mind breaking struggles people would have to go through to stay breathing, since I think the whole "horror" atmosphere couldn't really stay too long without it feeling kind of forced. Just the opinion of a newcomer though lol
@@yume5338 I get you. We just all wanna go back to the time of when things were unknown and there was still a slight horror in it. Now it’s more of the struggles which is really good but sometimes it just gets too repetitive as soon you will see. But don’t get me wrong, some arcs are amazing like negan as you will see and season 9-11 I feel are a renewal and not the same old same
@@Morgan_Freeman_ negan I think made everything more alive. He really spiced up the show cuz it was boring for like a whole season until he came. He gave it that random element, never knowing what’s he gonna do and who he gonna kill next. Plus negan I think is the only one who truly challenged rick
One (1) for me. These kind of settings always get old pretty fast in my opinion, but the "zero hour" scenarios are super intense when no one knows what's going on yet and characters can still realisticly exist that aren't fit for survival at all and the groups have to make tough decisions. Great dramatic potential.
Loved how on the early seasons, there was usually a messed up scene before the intro and you'd hear how this theme would slowly begin. It was so intense.
It was insanely intense. Every single time you hear the intro song starts, i was so happy af. Wishing i was there with them. At some point walking dead characters felt like family...in kidd u not, when they killed off glenn...i couldnt watch the show for several months. Glenns death was harder for me to take than carls death.
You couldn't stop the death star from blowing up could you and now I find you looking at tv show themes for some reason what is wrong with you Vader???
When I go out on the streets or I see people talking about Corona, or I see the news, this song immediately comes to my head and doesn’t go out ... The streets are deserted, it seems that I’m in a movie ... From Brazil
I really The Walking Dead intro in the first few seasons because something terrible would always happen and then you would slowly hear the theme song creeping in and then boom the intro hits. Miss those days of The Walking Dead.
when the creepy strings start at 0:13... gave me goosebumps from the day the series premiered on Halloween 2010, still gives me goosebumps sometimes depending on the opening scene in the episode
of fucking course it was him. I've been appreciating this man for his work on God of War, but never realized he was the one that did The Walking Dead too.
Tanner Hamric me too! Never in my life had I seen it before! I really like it. I thought it was going to traumatize me now that we are in quarentine. 😂😂😂 Now I'm binge watching TWD. Season 4 ep. 4 so far.
I remember me and my brother finding out this series back in summer of 2012. It was a good year. We were watching it and playing League almost everyday. Kinda miss how fun and carefree these days been... 😥
This used to be my family’s favorite show we’d watch every Sunday at 9. I miss being 7. Now the family is broken up and we live with our mom and we don’t watch it anymore :(
@@datwithtemufeba8171 Well technically him sneaking out for revenge on Dwight led to the groups capture by the Saviors, also him punching Negan in the face made Negan kill Glenn, otherwise you’re right
This will never not be stirring... I remember watching the pilot for the first time 10 years ago, first hearing this sound of coming dread, and days gone bye
