Rick’s police training definitely showed here He recognized very quickly that Tony was looking to Dave for signals on what to do indicating that they have a system in place and have done this little game before When Tony walks over to take a piss That was clearly getting himself into a strategical position Then Dave also got up and positioned himself directly on the other side of Rick putting him directly between the 2 At that moment Rick went into prepared mode and was ready to draw at a split seconds notice Tony and Dave had sized up the 3 of them and assessed Rick as the only real threat they knew if they took him out the other 2 would not put up a fight But again Rick saw that and stayed ready even after Dave tried to lure him into a false sense of security by putting his gun on the bar When he lunged for it Rick fired a shot before Dave was even able to raise the gun Then just as impressively was able to be calm and cool enough to keep in the back of his head exactly where the other guy was to turn completely around and shoot him multiple times before he could even react to his friend being taken out. Absolute moment of badassery from Rick Now Hershel has a reason to let Rick stay He made it clear that he can read people and situations with deadly accuracy and that he will help keep Hershel’s family safe from the threat that is just as dangerous if not more so than walkers.
Rick and Glenn went to town to find and bring back Hershel (and to let him know Beth is in some kind of state.) Lori wants Daryl to go to town to bring Rick and Glenn and Hershel back. WTH did she think Rick and Glenn were doing? So then she takes off in a car by herself without telling anyone. This so so damn stupid... Lori is a damn train wreck.
One of my favorite episodes in the early seasons. That is actually the reaction I was expecting from Amber when Rick shot them Yanks up. lol. Keep in mind the scene in the bar revealed something we may have forgotten: Rick's a cop, and as a cop he's been trained to read body language and listen to suspects for details. Rick's training kicked in and told him those two were dangerous.
Otis never got a chance to hear that Rick and Shane and Carl were out looking for a little girl, Sophia. I think if they had mentioned it Otis would've said he captured one and put he in the barn. He never made it that far. Anyway, Savage Rick is right! These are Rick's first human kills. Good, they deserved it! I don't think they wanted a place where they could be safe I think they were just gonna overrun the barn, kill the group, and bring in their own people. Rick didn't hesitate once he knew what kind of people they were. I'm glad he was a former sheriff though because those fast reflexes are what saved his life and killed theirs. :) Great episode and reaction like usual!!!! Keep it up!!!..:)

Sorry this is a bit long lol. This episode provides more proof for a statement i made in the last reaction: almost everyone agreed with Shane on opening the Barn & killing the walkers. T-Dog & Andrea straight up told Dale Shane wasn't at negative fault for what he did & he was right. Hell even Dale agreed that it was right, he confronted Hershel & never agreed that walkers were just sick people. He just doesn't trust/like Shane is all. A large majority of the group didn't wanna risk having those Walkers in that barn. Thus why no one really tried stopping Shane from opening it. Lori & Rick were the only ones really yelling at him to stop. They all had guns & knew they could easily kill the slow walkers who'd be coming straight at them from a barn door. I personally think it's one of Shane's best moments & decisions. Plus his speech was the BEST. Hershel (as explained in this episode) didn't know about Sophia being in the barn. Odis put all the walkers in there before he died, at some point before shooting Carl by mistake he found a walker Sophia out in the woods & put her in the barn. (He never mentioned this to the group cause they were worried about Carl being shot to much & never told Odis they were looking for a little girl. Shane killed Odis before he could ever tell them about it. He never told Hershel about her being in there cause he went out hunting right after putting her in the barn & then shot Carl by mistake) Shane was ultimately right in my opinion about calling off the search for Sophia. I mean Daryl almost died multiple times looking for her, Shane & Andrea were both almost killed together, Carl got shot, there was way to many near fatal things happening to people while out on the search & Shane saw that but Rick didn't care. Like Shane said, after 72 hours you're almost always (99%) looking for a body (he was a cop so he'd know the stats) & they searched for almost 2 weeks. In my opinion (harsh as it may seem) when it's the apocalypse & 4 people almost die (one being a child themselves) searching for someone over a week it's probably time to call it a rest & move your group to a safer location. (Plus they were on someone else's land who wanted them gone & had limited resources. If this happened near a location they were based at permanently then you can keep the search up as long as you want as you have a base in the area anyway) Oh & plus Sophia was dead the whole time like Shane predicted anyway. I'd also like to point out that Shane was one of the first people to grab Beth (the daughter of Hershel who almost got bit by her walker mom) & pull her to safety. In the first episode when the herd was coming he grabbed Glenn & got him under the truck to safety. Plus he genuinely apologized to Carol for the loss of Sophia. He's not a monster out for blood who doesn't care about anyone but Carl/Lori. He is a good guy he's just in love with someone he can't be with. Who is also making things worse btw lol. But also yes he did 100% save Carl's life by getting the stuff back in time. Whether he could've done that without killing Otis isn't relevant to the fact that he saved Carl's life. Plus he saved Lori & Carl for the first few months of the apocalypse while Rick was in a coma. And killing Otis wasn't just a thing he did & put behind him, that decision has been eating at him for a while. The conversation he had with Andrea about flipping the switch & how he hasn't got that down yet shows that perfectly. Lori is the worst character man, I've gone into detail before on this but telling Shane that even if the baby is his it'll never be his is just a awful thing to say. Shane has done 2 actually bad things so far in my opinion, 1 was aiming at Rick in season 1 & then sexually assaulting Lori in the same season. And while what I'm gonna say doesn't make up for what happened with Lori I do think it's interesting. Lori never brings that situation up as of now, she's literally only spoken on it at the start of this season & she only brought it up then because she was mad that he was giving her & Carl the cold shoulder (a thing i might add she TOLD HIM TO DO) & then got mad at him for wanting to leave the group. She was pissed that he wasn't gonna talk to Rick & instead was just gonna leave. Then she begged him to stay later (Not saying she was on hands & knees or anything but she said it 2 or 3 times in episode 3 then Shane wanted to confirm she meant it the next day & she 100% confirmed that she meant it) this is a guy she KNOWS still has romantic feelings for her in a major way & sexually assaulted her why would she want him to stay? She then tells him the shit about the baby & just emotionally manipulates & fucks with him. Notice how he only went for the guns to kill the walkers AFTER she told him that stuff. I just can't stand her lol, She convinces him to stay only to act like an ass to him WHY??? Oh & her interaction with Daryl shows how bad she is as well, calling him selfish when he risked his life more than anyone else to find Sophia. And when she goes to find Rick herself she instantly fails lol. PS: As much as a love Shane i gotta admit, Maggie slapping him was a great moment, He deserved that 100% for coming at Hershel the way he was & I'm so glad Maggie did it. She got lady balls of steel lol. Oh & yes Dave went for his gun on the counter 100% & that's why Rick slaughtered them Hyped for more reactions. Gotta do my best to keep on them so i don't make a comment this long again lol.
jake 117 you rock man! thanks for your opinions. shane is one of my all time fav twd characters for sure, cant say i agree with all his decisions! i defo think the barn needed to be emptied but defo not with everyone standing there! i would let shane handle it and ran if thats what he wanted to do 🤷🏻♀️ he just risked everyones lives as much as looking for sophia did in that one scene! lori annoys me to no end...everything she says and does is a contradiction lol. nothing much i can say about her haha, thanks for your support as always :))))
@@georgiacorsby5859 You ladies rick yo!!! 100% agree with you on Lori lol. And yea i agree that I'd run away if i weren't actively helping kill the walkers. But i don't think Shane put them in any real danger. Just watched the scene on Netflix & I counted between 19-24 Walkers coming out of the barn (there's no long direct shot of them coming out so the count was a struggle lol) but just 2 of their pistols have more ammo than that & Shane knew he had Andrea/Daryl/T-Dog on his side & they all had guns. Then Glenn had a gun & so did Rick so he knew they had the weapons to kill 20ish slow moving walkers. And they went through some shooting training already so he knows most of the people holding guns have at least some good aiming skills. Even if the walkers get to close they can easily retreat (or go hand to hand we've seen Rick/Shane/Daryl/etc man handle walkers up close & personal) Plus Hershel & his family know how many walkers (Sophia aside) were in the barn, Hershel said the ones at the river were his neighbors so if they had to retreat Maggie/Beth/etc could tell them exactly how many are in the barn so they know how many to look for. I just think Shane's move was less risky then the search overall simply cause no one got hurt doing it this way whereas 4 people almost literally died doing the seemingly safer search. 5 almost died if you count Rick almost giving to much blood. Carl was having seizures, Daryl had an arrow to the side, almost bitten & got shot in the head. Rick looked like a walker from all the blood he gave. Yes Beth was almost bitten BUT Shane was the first to get her to safety so he was looking out for that. Anyway thanks for replying!!!! Looking forward to the next video!!!!
Whether you like Shane or not is a moot point. Have you read the comics? Probably. If so, you know what I mean. Plus, I have seen you on Duo Reacts, so I know you're up to date on TWD. These girls are only on 2, so I can't say much. I can say that I agree with your assessment of Shane. People give him major crap b/c that's his role in the plot. But I always think about how things would be if Rick never got back and we were following Shane&co. Not impossible. Lori. Lori Grimes. The bane of my TWD existence. I actually DO like the bad guys more. I like the walkers more.😏
@@georgiacorsby5859 You guys are new to TWD. I love it. Everything is still fresh and shiny. But you're wrong about the threat level coming from the barn. Broad daylight, everyone's strapped to the nines, the walkers are entrapped and have only one exit to funnel out. This is the best possible scenario when dealing with double digits and up. Otherwise, great reaction guys! You have good things coming your way (season 3 is my personal fav). 🧟😊
I agree with you 100%. If you've noticed, Rick in later seasons kind of turned into what Shane was from the start because that's what he had to be. Shane just caught on quicker that this is the world that they live in and you have to change your ways. When I first watched season 1 and 2, I always thought Shane was over exaggerating but now that I'm on season 9, I've noticed that Shane was right all along even if he was getting kind of crazy. Rick has gone crazy at least three times in the past five seasons but if someone were to tell me that he shouldn't have killed Shane I would have to disagree because Shane was starting to become a threat to the group and Rick's family.
Well I don't think humans would be extras. It's not everyday you see new people in the apocalypse so if they were chosen to play humans, I personally think they would have quite a big part in the series for at least 3 episodes before they either leave Georgia to find a better place or get killed off.
