This is a defining moment for Rick Before that he said we don’t kill the living Now from that moment he knows he must do it to protect his people And that music at the end is like showing what Rick is capable of and that he is a fighter One of the many best scenes in this show.
Rick’s police training definitely showed here He recognized very quickly that Tony was looking to Dave for signals on what to do indicating that they have a system in place and have done this little game before When Tony walks over to take a piss That was clearly getting himself into a strategical position Then Dave also got up and positioned himself directly on the other side of Rick putting him directly between the 2 At that moment Rick went into prepared mode and was ready to draw at a split seconds notice Tony and Dave had sized up the 3 of them and assessed Rick as the only real threat they knew if they took him out the other 2 would not put up a fight But again Rick saw that and stayed ready even after Dave tried to lure him into a false sense of security by putting his gun on the bar When he lunged for it Rick fired a shot before Dave was even able to raise the gun Then just as impressively was able to be calm and cool enough to keep in the back of his head exactly where the other guy Tony was to turn completely around and shoot him multiple times before he could even react to his Friend being taken out. Absolute moment of badassery from Rick Now Hershel has a reason to let Rick stay He made it clear that he can read people and situations with deadly accuracy and that he will help keep Hershel’s family safe from the threat that is just as dangerous if not more so than Walkers.
Fun Fact the home used for filming the show in this Season is from a very religious older couple that was very apprehensive about letting AMC film here They ultimately allowed it and they established two major rules No walkers on the property and no cussing inside the house This is why you see so few walkers on the actual farm in the season And the owners also refused to allow the home to be used in any fan tours I believe they sold it later on.
He definitely is but he should listen to Shane's advice since from a logical and survival based stand point Shane is right about almost everything. His problem is how he does what needs to be done because the way he makes himself look is crazy
Daryl calling Lori "Olive Oyl" is such a low key blow. 😅 He definitely picked up on the drama between her, Rick and Shane. Also if you missed the low key blow, you're a youngin. 😅 13:27
When Carol says how Sophia wasn't alone and afraid and hungry and how Sophia had died along time ago...thinking of our kids out there alone, afraid, cold, hungry, etc is terrifying. She had already accepted that Sophia had probably died but to know she hadn't suffered to the extent Carol had created in her mind, was probably healing for Carol.
Awesome moment for Rick one of my favourites The first time he murdered anyone but he had to do it to protect the farm and his family Plus if you go back and rewatch that scene you can see Dave (the guy at the bar) right after he says This guy looks down at his gun laying on the bar like he was going to reach for it Sheriff Rick read that glance perfectly😁
When Rick said “I hear Nebraskas nice” right before shooting them was a badass line. He’s got crazy instincts and reflexes, he was a cop so he’s good at assessing situations like that
I just want to say how much I am really enjoying your energy and passion with this series. I remember feeling the exact same emotions in the moment that you are feeling. They are doing a good job of depicting all of the mental madness that would ensue were this to actually happen.
Shane should have known the effect his actions would have on their host. Not to mention all that noise. They could have done a controlled release from the barn, killed a couple of walkers at a time.
U see what i mean by shanes character development lol i never said it was good but he has good motives he definitely does need some praise because he has done good its just the way he does it thats bad
Great reaction, great breakdown. The end of that episode was far from tame and calm, LOL😂 - just jesting, I know what you meant. One of my favourite episodes with Rick's bada**ery. Loved the way Rick handled Tony & Dave when they thought they had him sandwiched, but my man Rick knew what time it was so when Dave jumps over the bar and says "nobody's shooting anybody right Rick?", Rick starts moving his eyes around, especially after he hears the click of Tony's gun as he ready's himself behind Rick, hence why we see Rick look down and sideways towards his right shoulder to keep a side-eye🤨on Tony (as one person said trying to get data for survival and tilted his head which improves sound localisation, it's why dogs twist their head) and readies his hand next to his revolver and also keeps an eye on Dave behind the bar because Rick knew Dave has another gun behind the bar as Dave clearly thinks he's smarter than Rick and already put his first gun on the bar before jumping over to lull Rick into a false sense of security, meanwhile Hershel and Glenn remain frozen like Rick and don't move and we can see Glenn can feel the tension and keeps looking at them, but especially Rick, but Rick isn't stupid and they forget, he is a cop and trained for certain scenarios such as this and has to be quick on the draw and in that split second had to make his mind up who he would take out first if he had too, but he summed it up and he knew Dave would be the quicker draw as he probably has a gun concealed behind that bar and as Rick continues to read Dave's body language and as soon as Dave's face changes from his tense false smile and he looks down to make a move to reach for his concealed gun, Rick goes from freeze to fight response and didn't even give him a chance to even raise it half an inch then he swung around to Tony who would have been much slower on the draw with a big old shotgun as you have to have two hands on it, then lift it up, then position it, aim, then shoot and hopefully make it count and hit on target the first time, BUT TOO SLOW, Rick put two in him before he knew what hit him and made sure to go in for the kill giving him a third shot to make sure he wasn't getting up again. I say to Rick "Bravo old chap, splendid shooting" says the non-expert moi from the UK where guns are illegal and I haven't got a clue about guns, I know nothing except for what I've watched through movies, war films, shows and documentaries, LOL.😆😂
Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 Loved how they start this episode right where E7 ended, so seamlessly done, 👍 I became super annoyed with Shane about the barn ordeal, but for him to then try to cover his incompetence, he starts blaming Hershel, guess he should not have killed Otis, especially before he knew they were looking for a lost little girl, then to top it off he goes after Dale again, 🤨 I had the slight urge to slap the silly out of Andrea, her and Shane ‘bee bop’ and all of a sudden she is blinded to the facts and becomes Shane’s big supporter, 😏 Lori definitely should not drive, what a dipstick, it is dangerous looking away from the road in real life, let alone when you add in Walkers, ughh, 😏 I had to laugh at Shane’s fake attempt of caring when he was creepily (in my opinion) washing Carols hands, after his drama at the barn, he is making a sad attempt of covering up the callousness of his actions, 😏 Have a safe and wonderful week, 👋😀👋
Shame has issues but he is not a monster. He is not violent to women. The way it went down was the only way to make Hershel see. Rick was not getting through to him. You are ignoring the fact that some of them agree with some of what Shane says. Having walkers around is never safe.
@@sallyatticum I don't think there are two factions. I think they agree with SOME of what Shane says. They don't even know about most of the interaction between Hershel and Rick. I don't think the lines are clearly drawn at this point (except for Dale and Lori).
Remember that the viewers, like Hershel and Rick are still living in the pre apocolypse world. Your natural reaction is to like Rick's righteous world view and moral high ground. However the series is not showing what a great leader Rick is at this point it's exposing his flaws. hershel is merely Ricks Righteous pride taken to an extreme. But Shane is right. He is an A-Hole, he has little charisma, but he is the only one whose head is fully in the post apocolypse and willing to do whatever is needed to protect the group. Rick will gte there....but I don't consider his moral navel gazing a positive in the post apocolypse. At this point, and what this episode and season really demonstrates is Rick is responsible for a number of risks...and perhaps deaths in the name of self righteous pride. Most people watching will not understand that, because they have not in reality faced life and death so starkly. Everyone is still judging based on idealism that doesn't work in the post apocolypse. Dale is an idealist, Rick is still an idealist. Hershel is an idealist. Are they good men? Sure. Will they get the grouped killed over that idealism? At this point yes. This is also why Rick and shane still support each other. they are partners and they realize from their time together before the apocolypse they balance out each other's flaws. They are brothers in arms, you don't turn your back on that easy.
I don't want to spoil too much, so I wont tell you any actual story lines or specific battles, but Carol becomes an absolute badass, and ends up having one of the highest kill counts (of living bad guys) in the entire show. 😅 Her character development becomes pretty awesome over the years.
Cannot believe someone would lie about not putting spoilers on here then doing so about Carol and her kill count being the highest - not true, don't listen, just exaggerated. Looks like you may need mods on this show, some people love to try and spoil it for the reactors channel and their subscribers/followers of the show.🤔
