Eugene is the best liar. He said he knew the “cure”. He said he was on Negan’s side. When him and his friend’s lives are on the line, he can come up something easily

Maggie has definitely changed. I guess Shane was right when he said you can't be the good guy and expect to live

My favorite scene is when Daryl was in the back of the train car, taking out walkers one by one, he was such a badass.

I get that Gage beat up Lydia and ran off with their supplies, but his death was completely unnecessary. At this point I at least trust Negan to tell the truth, which is more than I trust Maggie, there's something extremely fishy about the war with the Reapers.

Eugene always makes me nervous when he "freaks out" like that.....

If you look closer at the end of the episode, when the Reapers threw that knife into that guy’s leg, you can see that it went into his leg as cut his hand off 😱

Great edit with Morgan yelling at Rick about the radio. It really added to the poignancy with the signs Lacey was reading off the screen.

Ah, the beauty of rewatching. I've watched seasons 1-7 soooo many times. Later seasons not so much but watching this video I now see how they new Yumikos brother us a surgeon, because she says it here. And rips him away from the bakery life he wanted. I love the details they have ahead that make sense on rewatch

The group in the last scene are the reapers, they cut Cole's hand (one of the guys from Maggie's group) Another great episode, damn I'm excited (just like Princess with the toilet paper)

The Reapers likely have no clue about the Commonwealth. Don’t forget how far away Eugene and his group had to travel to encounter the commonwealth, it is very, very far. Nothing near the subway is going to be connected to the commonwealth at all.

"The injured guy", was played by actor C. Thomas Howell. His best movie was The Hitcher, with Rudger Howell. Have you noticed that money is showing up all over these first 2 episodes? The $2 bill, that Princess had, the bins full of money, with it's, at the Commonwealth, the briefcase next to the man with his arm cut off, and then the note written on a bill, that Daryl found. Is that how the people were exposed to the virus that everyone carries?

I thought the guy Daryl found was the guy who got his throat bit out by Rick at first 😂

See, my thing with Gages death is that they couldnt get the doors open even when they WERENT on like a clock. It took them a WHILE to get the one door open, and as for the other one, had they opened it, they door wouldnt have closed again and the walkers would've gotten in. I don't think they could have gotten to Gage before he got killed or bitten anyway, and I think Maggie knew it. Thats why she said they didn't have the ammo to clear the walkers, because thats what they would've had to do. Yes, they were able to do that in the end, but that was because Daryl had gotten back. Daryl wasn't there before, they would've gotten trapped. It was a tough situation, but I think it would've ended worse had they opened the door - Even Gabe said they couldn't do it. It's just my take on it, but I personally think that Rick or Michonne would have done the same thing as well.

a lot of fans say that maggie needs to move on but i mean she literally watched negan beat glenn’s head in with a bat multiple times and now has a child to raise alone bc of negan so in my opinion she has every right to hate him and doesn’t have to move on if she doesn’t want to it’s honestly kinda disappointing how people fail to realize that

Both the comics and the show are awesome the comics have 193 issues 32 volumes and 4 compendiums went on from 2003-2019 16 years there currently redoing them in full colour since October 2020 last year there already at issue 21# as of right now the show going on from 2010-2022 at 12 Years is a hell of an awesome run will be up there in great shows and Spring 2028 is when all of The Walking Dead deluxe editions will be released which is great.

I could nit-pick the episode, but I'm going to run with it. (I finished watching it about 30 minutes before I started watching your reaction and I had a lot of 'technical' issues to point out, but this isn't my reaction channel. I don't have one.) The frail old man, in Maggie's story, was a major sicko. Daryl was using a form of flail sometimes called a "ball and chain" for obvious reasons, a heavy spiked object attached to a chain, the other end is attached to a haft (rod) intended to allow buildup of speed of the 'head' of the weapon, while protecting the wielder from feeling the full impact when it connects. As I understand it a single headed flail was sometimes called a morning star, but this name also was applied to a spiked mace (same weapon if you remove the chain and mount the head directly to the haft) I also questioned "why can't we just go back up top, and see if we can get through?" I'd be more hesitant about going below as it means crawling, but maybe they went as far forward as they could before some obstruction before coming down into the train? I also questioned why Gabriel is aiming a shotgun toward the door for several seconds before chambering a round? If they came through before he chambered a round, he's going to have to chamber one before he can fire anyway. Pump action shotguns are very easy to chamber, unchamber and reload, so if you think there's a reasonable need to have a round ready, and your life may depend on it, get that round in the chamber so one finger twitch is all that stands between you and that walker's head exploding! Actually, I'm not sure what you were trying to say here "He's (Daryl) in back of them" He entered from the front of the train so he's behind the walkers that Maggie's group is engaging, and they are down to melee weapons. To borrow a line from Gabriel Iglesias talking to his adopted son Frankie about the bathroom... After you said "do not go in there" Daryl: "I blew it up." Though you skipped it, I thought Eugene's question was very poignant about "they're being processed" Eugene: "You mean Administratively? or Bologna? This inquiring mind needs to know." Negan handing back the gun to Maggie was akin to her handing him the gun in the first place. They both know the other's position in "that moment" She gave him the gun because she knew he could handle it, possibly better than she could, he gave it back because "she trusted him enough to believe he wasn't about to let them all die without a fight" (at least that's how I saw it on first watching) I don't know anything about these people at the end, a couple comments below mention something, but I don't know how to process them. "Truth Lies" could mean a number of things, but "it comes for us all" may be a reference to death, or the walking dead, or becoming one of the walking dead, or a number of other things. Really glad to be caught up with you and be able to watch this shortly after watching the episode for myself, while it's still fresh to me. I will say, I am currently accepting the "Stephanie" character, as her voice has to be similar enough that if it's a scheme the Commonwealth wasn't privy to they'd have to guess who to send in that won't tip the person, or persons, who have heard the voice on the radio. (What if they sent this girl in, but the real "Stephanie" had a "valley girl" accent, or a "Brooklyn" accent, or maybe her actual name was Stefania and she had been an immigrant with say a Ukrainian accent, much less whether she had a much higher or deeper voice than the girl they sent in? And let me say, if she had any of 15 different Eastern European, 3 Asian, 4 Western European or 6 regional North American accents, and were talking to me, I'd pick up on if the accent was wrong if I'd spoken to her for 2+ hours by radio There are accents I can identify, and there are accents I can "roughly identify" from past exposure) So sending a person in to claim to be her would be an all or nothing gamble. If they guessed wrong, they blow it. [Not saying I trust the character, but that the character is likely either the one Eugene spoke to, or close enough and they know it] When you started talking numbers, I pulled up stills of both sides on approach (before any attack on Maggie's side) and counted 9 for Maggie, 1 definitely dead, 1 probably out of commission after the attack and 14-15 [one I couldn't tell if it was a head or a shadow] for the other group walking down the road. So not "about equal, closer to a 2:1 disadvantage for Maggie, after removing the 1 dead, 1 likely incapacitated. I never heard you bring up the term that occurred a couple times in what rules they were being let in under... "Legacy" If Miko's brother was involved at the beginning of this Commonwealth, Legacy may refer to people either known or related to founders or "first people under the Commonwealth"

I know I’m not a big contributor to you Patrion account, but I’d really like to see you two react to “Day of the Dead”, the original George Romero movie (unless you guys have already seen it). Greg Nicotero from the Walking Dead got his start in his craft from after staring in that movie and watching Tom Savini do the special makeup effects for that movie.

the door wasn't easy to open didn't you not see how much muscle dude(Duncann) struggle to open it for them ? they literally had to go on top ?!! if they had open the door then bring the kid inside they would have all been attacked by the walkers and he decided to leave the group if he had stay that wouldn't have happen

Maggie is a big hypocrite. Negan wouldn't have killed the 3. alive women in the attic. He would have saved them.

Maggie's story was more disturbing than if we had seen it. For me anyway. Because I put the whole setting in my head clear as crystal and it was too clear.

Question? Didn't Gage and the other guy played by C. Thomas Howell take supplies and bag of ammo with them when they took off? So when he needed saving and they didn't have the ammo to clear the walkers wasn't it pretty much his own fault they couldn't save him? BTW, If he was somehow able to get to safety I may have killed him myself altogether for taking off with the ammo in the 1st place.

Maggie may have done the same thing as Negan did last episode, but unlike Negan she was focusing on protecting the group and the mission, not just herself. Gage got himself killed from the moment he left the group and abandoned the mission.

Gage stole their supplies and tried to leave like a coward, he deserved to die and I don't feel the least bit sorry for him.

I thought that Negan not saving Maggie was inconsistent with his character development - he might not like her, but he has seen her son and since he is the one who killed that son's father, I would imagine that Negan would not want to leave a child an orphan. He does have a soft spot for kids and it overpowers his self-preservation (he went for Judith into the blizzard before), so I think what they did here doesn’t make much sense. If we disregard all of this, Negan is still smart enough to know that if Maggie managed to survive (and keep a kid alive) for God knows how many years, she will likely survive a situation he left her in and expose him. All in all, I really think this "plot twist" idea was stupid.

My understanding is the Commonwealth is complicated they have a hierarchy

Everyone is mad at Maggie for leaving Gage out there.. but, let’s not forget.. this “KID” was one of the people who jumped Lydia in the middle of the night. So.. I honestly don’t blame her for leaving a complete asshole. I think if she would have opened the door.. it would have been easier for the walkers to bust through the door. They were literally using all their force to open the other doors. & Maggie didn’t actually say that she was going to “Murder” Negan.. he brung it up & she said “It’s always on my mind!” The stuff MAGGIE has seen/done has made her numb to a lot & changed her. & I completely get it.

I was infuriated when Maggie left Gage to die. However, when I calmed down and listened to what Angela Kang had to say, I definitely was on Maggie's side again. She had to think like a general. A person who betrayed them is an acceptable loss if it means the rest survive. They wouldn't have been able to take those walkers, and she needs to get back to her son. I've honestly disliked Gage since S9, and I definitely didn't want him to die, but yeah this wasn't enough to make me drift from Team Maggie.
