@John Peter Oh boy, you're gonna be very upset when you meet the leader of the Commonwealth 😅 Also, you say 5 of the camps are women driven...which ones? The Kingdom was led by Ezekiel and now it's gone, Hilltop had 2 male leaders and 2 female leaders before becoming a council led group and now they're gone, and Alexandria is led by a council in which Gabriel is the main voice

Carols constant running IS her coping skill....dissociation, shutting down and avoidance goes hand in hand with trauma; especially with her years of abuse pre/post apocalypse. Her saving grace is that she is loved and has built somewhat of a support system. It is ver easy to return to maladaptive old behaviors even when it is known that it isnt beneficial because it is familiar. Logic and trauma behavior are not friends,

Exactly. I liked that this episode was quite realistic in showing bits of the slow and hard process that it would take for her to break that habbit. Despite her thinking of running away, she is trying to stay, trying to fix things. Not running away from problems that she cannot easily fix, allowing herself to feel things instead of shutting down - that is a new path for Carol.

Notice in this episode how Carol and Daryl after being mad at each other they experience all types of obstacles and stuff. Like they need each other and they bond a lot but they crash with each other because they are so numb and don't know how to show affections

💚 I appreciate y’all understanding that we weren’t supposed to even get these episodes and our expectations shouldn’t be too high. I’m sick of ppl sh**** on these.... wow, ungrateful. Y’all are the best! Ok, now I’m gonna watch ur reaction... (Steven laughs thru the episode 🤣) I think Carol had a major breakdown in the garage then she was able to “fix” the wall. Personally I didn't care for the episode that much because it didn't tell me anything about Carol that I didn't already know, BUT I'm not that bothered, a show with over 150 episodes isn't gonna hit the ball out of the park every time and that's fine I have heard however that critics got the finale early and they're raving about it, saying it's one of the best episodes in years

26:28 I understand why it might seem annoying but if this show does one thing really well it's how they show trauma. In the last few episodes Princess had a psychotic episode from her ptsd and other illnesses, the fight or flight in her making her do what she needed to survive and when the splinter came out it was symbolic of her starting to move on, on her own, with new friends she trusts, and not letting it build up and infect her. In the same way Carol had a major breakdown because she shows a LOT of symptoms that I personally and many others go through. After the abuse she had with her first husband, she was able to start to heal with the king but all the bad things overwhelmed her again and she developed really severe depression. Many times she thinks about dying/letting herself be eaten or bit, and the thought of wanting to leave stems from her feeling like she's not wanted or needed anymore. She feels like a burden, like a bad person and everyone would be better off without her. I can relate a lot to Carol and it's not fair that the other character in the show and even many fans don't seem to understand what she's going through. That kind of thing never goes away. It can get better, you can heal with proper resources, but it can always come back and her feeling like she's lost Daryl her best friend was the final straw.

The thing that I love best about this episode is that it really focuses on the fact that Carol and Daryl both are accustomed to being needed. I mean, both of them literally have based their self worth and their previous relationships on that, both before and after the apocalypse. But their friendship isn't based on either of them actually *needing* one another, but that means that they're both at a loss for how to relate to it sometimes. It's why their friendship sometimes frustrate them - they're both so used to being helpful and being needed that they're not sure exactly how to express what they feel for one another. It's so great.

Did you notice how the walkers have gone back to not being a threat since the whisperers are gone? Carol can happily dispatch a group of socially distanced walkers surrounding her. Darryl can walk very near them with his back to them on his way to army walker. I'm not criticizing the show, just an observation on how they can relax more now they don't have to worry about 'fake' walkers jumping out at them.

My take on this episode is it’s how Daryl and Carol approach problems so differently now. Daryl tries to find a fix, he can be calm and patient, whereas Carol can literally tear a house down whilst trying to achieve a goal. That’s what I took from this episode. And now Daryl has said it out loud to her in their last episode when he told her she “can’t ever just let something go” and it resulted in Connie being gone, she’s clicked that he’s right. She could’ve been patient too, tried the trap again or left the door open hoping it would leave on its own but she let it totally take hold of her in the moment and she couldn’t see past that urgency to get the rat right now. Also: Nikki: “No, eww you can’t cook out the rotten!” Me: “May I remind you about Gareth and the infected leg of Bob they all cooked and ate?” 😂 I definitely assumed Carol was going to add the rat to the soup too! Thankfully we were both wrong on that!! Can’t wait for the Negan and Lucille episode next week. Hilarie Burton is amazing and can’t wait to see her play alongside Jeffrey! Hope you’re all safe and well ☺️

This episode was basically the Breaking Bad "Fly" episode. Carol chasing down a rat was reminiscent of Walter chasing down a fly. Plus, it's that type of episode whether you love it or hate it. I will say that I did like the character moments in this episode because it showed a deeper meaning to what these characters are going through. After all, the apocalypse can sometimes be that dull. Overall, another filler episode but one that I didn't mind imo. P.S. The music in this episode was 🔥!

@@bishbosh4815 There was sort of a point in this episode because if you remember in the Fly episode of Breaking Bad, Walter chased down a single fly because he was afraid it would contaminate his ingredients. In this episode, Carol chases down the rat because she was afraid it would contaminate the soup she was making. So in other words, there was a point in regards to what the episode entails. After all, the rat does symbolize Carol of her wanting to get away while the fly symbolize's Walter wanting to get away from life itself. Again, very similar to Fly episode!

These episodes were made in response to covid. There is a minmal amount of people in a scene. It was just a way to put out content to satisfy fans and give an opportunity to look at some background info on certain characters.

Yes, it's a slow and easy episode. But it shows ordinary lives. Our characters have turned into superheroes and now we can see their human side. It's funny and symbolic. We haven't seen Carol like this in a long time. And Daryl, too, he was a mess. You are even more light-hearted when reacting to it. Thanks

Earlier Walking Dead had so much to it, they were always moving along, to new territories etc. When they found Alexander it was a great for a while and I loved the Negan stuff. When Rick went things were never the same. That's the truth.

I agree. So far, the show is doing VERY interesting things & I'm digging into the western theme/ elements that they're going for. My only gripe so far is Alicia's arc because from what I've seen from the previous Season & now, it just feels like she's just a backdrop character rather than a main character. Overall, a brutal return to form!

My point of my original comment is that Daryl and Carrol are the only two original characters from S-1 that are still here, they both were originally ment to be short term characters that winded up being the only two that has survived to the end of the series...And That is Amazing.

I felt like Carol was feeling useless. She practically begged Jerry to give her something to do to help out and when she tries to do the one thing she feels she can do to contribute--make some soup--everything goes wrong with that. She feels defeated and useless which is why she starts thinking about leaving again. If she can't contribute to the group or if everything she does, like blowing up the cave to get rid of the Walker herd, hurts those she loves, she would feel they were better off without her. She really needed a "win" to feel useful and if that meant tearing up the wall to get that rat, so be it. She needs those small victories to connect with the community again.

So I'm really a fan of quiet episodes that put character work in the foreground. And very tolerant of the previous bonus episodes. It is also clear that no story progress is to be expected. That was never the problem for me. But what was that? The plot: -Jerry was hungry -Carol wants to make soup and catch a mouse. -Dog hunting mouse. -Daryl wants to fix his motorcycle. -A knife was presented. -Jerry hugs Carol Plot Twist: -Mouse didn't die -Daryl didn't die (surprise) That was the plot. Wow. I saw my beard grow, it was so exciting. 😁

Nobody is going to die in these episodes, they already started writing season 11 before they did these Also, why would anyone die in this episode anyway? Carol was never in any danger and Daryl won't get killed by a random walker. Even without the news of their spin off we know they won't die

Seems to me at this point Carol still felt guilt for what her actions caused Daryl in terms of Connie. She hurt her best friend and that was the last thing she wanted. Carol’s always been the one who wanted to go off on her own in a way. She may be good at killing but she’s had moments of being tired of it. At times she’s just wanted to be left alone. That’s partly how Ezekiel came into her life. The vibe I got from this was that yes they can both get by on their own or without each other but it’s harder. They’re much better off having the other person in their lives,

You should watch Kingdom. South Korea made a good Zombie movie - Train to Busan - and you had quite a strong reaction to it. They also made a good, and short, zombie series. The hats are AMAZING.

If this story was told from Negan's point of view, I and everyone would see things differently to an extent. For sure... But the comparison isn't close.

Yeah, I mean Rick and CO did kill a bunch of Saviors while they were sleeping, but they had pictures of horrible stuff that Negan did to people on the walls and were proud of it. Like Aaron said Rick and CO never turned on each other, while Negan essentially tortured his own people to keep them in line and basically enslaved women. Negan's point of view would be seeing him cheat on his wife and bully people into giving him stuff. Sure there are definitely worse people than Negan in the show, but I doubt we would ever see him like Rick.

I've always said that the main difference between Rick's group and Negan's is how they cope with killing. When Rick's group killed the Saviours at the outpost they didn't enjoy it. They felt like they had to because they needed the deal with Hilltop so they could get food. Glenn even cried when he had to kill someone Then compare that to Negan. When he killed Abraham and Glenn he smiled, laughed and made jokes. He liked killing people, he said that himself. He also enjoyed keeping women as sex slaves and hurting anyone he wanted. To me that's why the "if we followed Negan we'd be on his side" argument is naive

Looking forward to the Negan episode too. Still disagree about seeing it all from his p.o.v. In my opinion Negan resorted to darker measures to survive than Rick did; subjugating communities, forcing people down with fear, etc. He's come around and realized that perhaps wasn't the best way to make it.

Umm .. I'm really late to the party, but this is the first episode I've watched in a long while and nobody is talking about her offering that guy soup, and then it's obvious she murdered him (she even apologizes) and hid his body (like many others) behind that wall?!? Like I said I'm several seasons late to the zombie party. :)
