In terms of like ranking these themes, this is how it goes in my opinion. 5) Episode 1. Honestly it just sounds like whitenoise to me, barley qualifies as a theme. 4) Episode 4. Toss up between 2 and 4 so I'll put 4 here. Much better than 1 and really fits the theme of the episode. 3) Episode 2. I dunno what to say about this theme, I just really like it 2) Episode 3. The more eerie of the themes. Gives me chills every time I listen to it, the screaming sound especially unnerves me with the context of what was going to happen this episode. 1) Episode 5. This theme is absolutely nuts, it is the perfect theme for what episode 5 was going to be. It really gives the idea of hopelessness and complete isolation. With the backround that this episode was going to end with Clem alone with AJ with a choice to continue on without him or stay and die with him, it just horrifies me.
@@EH7yearsago I think their talking about how carver (which carver was originally going to be troy) was supposed to rape clem, but thankfully that theory was proven false.
Fun fact: in the mobile version of twd season 2 there’s 2 episode slides that still have the unused music, that’s in harms way aka (in cold blood) and amid the ruins
Fun fact: This version of episode 2's theme and 4's is used in the xbox 360 version but before you buy any of the episodes, after that it just gets replaced with the normal ones
@@chicagoball188 I'm pretty sure every menu screen except 5 had their early music regarding the free xbox version. The episode 4 slide also has Vince in the background which is pretty cool. I actually don't know what music changes after you update the game as this stuff hasn't been well documented, but I think what Kwjl said was interesting. The Pc versions keeps the original episode 3 song even after updates, so I'd assume the other versions are the same but idk
There was an original ending for ep5 where Clementine would either have the choice to either stay with aj and freeze to death or leave aj and go on your own both choices will result In Clementine and aj's death since season 2 was supposed to be the last season
@@AuroraWhite28 The cut ending does not fit with the comics, it would've been way too nihilistic and depressing. The overarching themes of the comics is that no matter how horrible circumstances are, it will never stop the human tenacity to overcome them and rebuild what was lost, the comics were about finding hope in times where hopelessness prevailed and humanity working together against all odds. The walking dead is depressing and dark, but it's also hopeful and optimistic. It isn't just endless misery slop like people here seem to think it is. The ending would've been really cool if it was optional but it's terrible as the main ending to the series as that would basically render the entire 1st season meaningless and ruin any replayability the games might've had.
and the last thing you heard was the episode theme song fading out as you just hear "AJ" echoing, then it stops, and the silent credits with just black
@@p0k3mn1 for me it leaves more questions that destruction, how would that even work? lee was Kenny best friend during the entire thing...and even if your lee was not nice to him...clementine was still the only Friend Duck had during EVERYTHING... I think kenny would be more of a villan that it would be cruel to the rest but good to the clem and the player
sounds like a helicopter to me, which kinda makes sense with the military jacket that Troy wears, considering after they scrapped Kenny being the "Big Bad" (Carver) figure, they made Troy into the leader instead, but then Carvers voice actor was hired at telltale and they decided to make a whole new model to fit his gruff voice and make Troy his right hand, thats why in the "previously/next time on the walking dead" you see Troy at the cabin door talking to Clementine, not Carver. i think thats also why troy is episode 2s picture with the binoculars, he was searching for them instead of Carver
I prefer theoriginal idea for TWD Season 2. Those unusrd soundtrack, seemslikea creepypasta for a horror game. Fuck, i would really liketo see this original darkest version of season 2. But, of course, Clem would die in episode 5 "Better to sleep", by two choices, in whick player will chooce to stay with AJ and freeze with himto death, or leave him behind and go her own way to save herself.
The 5th episode was originally going to end with Clem and AJ dying alone in the snow, with that episode 5 being titled Better to Sleep, but they changed it for being too dark of a take. It’s horrifying to hear the theme and known the context of what the episode could have been.
Episode 3s beta song is so fascinating to me; I mean they all are but damn! Haven’t people said the “Screeching” sound in that song is or sounds like a Tea Kettle? I actually slowed down the song with an audio program to see how it would sound like and it definitely sounds like someone is screaming, and banging on something for help. Episode 3s diorama seems to build off of 2s in the sense that the Cabin group are being preyed upon by Carver, and it might also represent Carver's unwanted advances towards Rebecca. I wonder how the story would have changed if Aj was born in episode 3?
I wish we got the original season 2 honestly, I still remember seeing episode 3's old screen on ios before it released. And yeah, things would be a lot different if AJ was born in episode 3, how would've they gotten through the herd at the end of the episode with him
You know, on the topic of the IOS slide, I wonder if all versions of this game have been fully data mined. I’m mosty interested in the free version of the Xbox 360 and Ps Vita versions (the free Ps Vita version also has weird inconsistencies with the final game)
@@matro2 Yeah, episode three's beta diorama stuck out to me at the time because of how jarring it was compared to the previous two, especially when combined with the ambience that goes with these dioramas, it is drastically different from ep1 and ep2. Personally though, Amid The Ruins genuinely scares me with its og song and even background, or backgrounds (there's like 4 or 5 different versions of the Amid The Ruins diorama) but I love the menus for these games, and these beta dioramas are genuinely so cool!
How come Episode 2 is your favorite when compared to the other songs? For me personally Episode 2s beta song definitely gives me the heebie jeebies, but some people seem to find it relaxing
Episode 2 and 4 are like something out of Manhunt, that hunter and pray mentality, which correlates a lot to the cabin situation, Carver was actively hunting these people down, like an obsessed animal. I honestly think that the theme of the cut Season 2 was gonna be the decay of humanity, how this apocalypse has turned originally normal people into monsters. Monsters that are worse than the walkers. And if that was the case, we would have seen some really messed up stuff from Carver and his group. The "better to sleep" part is probably a message hinting that it's better to be dead than live and become that miserable.
@@rickgrimes1129well unfortunately to make that happen they’d have to remake the game entirely using the old concepts of the original, it’s not impossible but I doubt telltale will let it happen due to budget alone
@@anotherguyonyoutub3 well, not entirely, yes they laid off most of their staff and shut down most of their offices but telltale do still exist and by all accounts have a few projects in the works
Episode 3’s and Episode 5’s background tracks sound straight out of Silent Hill, it doesn’t match the sound that Telltale gave The Walking Dead series I also think the original Episode 1 background track is used in the final game when it asks you to transfer your save data from the first game to Season 2.
It’s because season 2 overall was gonna be a lot darker and epsidoe 5 was originally gonna end with Clem leaving aj and ultimately dying to hypothermia or staying with aj and dying anyway
This gave me the most chills I've ever had for some reason lmao, now I'm paranoid and saying goodbye to any sleep tonight 🥴 If horror games had music like this it would make them 10x scarier.
The original season 2 man…I really wonder how exactly it could’ve been playing it and all I hope it would’ve been a great game I think so but damn I really wish I got to see that dark version and play. It was awesome. It’s crazy to think what could’ve been and how dark this game could’ve been.
Telltale didn't know they were making 2 more games after the second season (even when season 1 came out back in 2012 they weren't planning on making season 2) and so it was originally going to be way darker then the first season and so it would have ended with clementine and aj both dying together due to hypothermia considering how cold it was and I'm pretty sure this happens after kenny kills Jane (or if kenny dies from being shot by clementime but who even chooses that option?) Anyways aj starts getting heavy while clementine is holding him and so the game would have you make the decision whether you leave aj to die or keep walking with him no matter what option you chose you and aj would both die which is just already depressing enough lol but they got rid of that idea so yeah
@@hypersniper71 i heard the original idea was that instead of Kenny and Jane that Luke would get bit, Kenny would try to end him, but Luke wants to wait it out and live a little longer so you have to decide who is worth letting live (Kenny in this version is a worse person, he was the leader at carvers camp and carver didnt exist yet) and no matter what you decide you end up alone with AJ and the sad hypothermia scene happens with the decision you have to make. Idk how they wouldve dealt with Kenny but i know if you were to pick Luke then youd have to shoot him eventually when he turns, so thats how she would end up alone with the baby after picking Luke. maybe not all of that is true but i know 100% that Luke vs Kenny was a thing before Jane vs Kenny, and that at one point the developers really liked the idea of Kenny being the villain which is why hes so angry and argumentative the whole time
I personally think s2 is the most depressing game out of the series but hearing these cut themes and hearing about the older scripts especially the dark one where clem gets SA and can either freeze to death or let go go of aj to die really gives me chills the dark script of s2 really feels like a creepypasta and makes me wonder how having this game be the last game which i wouldnt mind since i think s3 is not good and s4 is good but a lot of missing potential due to the bankruptcy the only thing that doesint sit right with me is the whole SA clem thing im super glad they removed it tbh but besides from that id s2 wouldve been the last game with clem dying i would instantly name this game one of the darkest ending to a franchise or if the s2 we got ended which i picked leaving wellington with kenny and aj wouldve been my favorite ending to a franchise
I just realized what the first one might be In the concept art for TWD S2 Nick and Luke's outfits swap so I think they were kinda swapping their roles in the story a bit perhaps. And you remember Nick's lack of trigger discipline? What if that title card was supposed to be Nick accidentally shooting Clementine in the woods. Like how he almost shot her at the cabin. Either way Clem still got shot in the shoulder lol- Just by fucking Arvo instead
It's good can't deny, but my bet the reason why most people in the comments prefer episode 3 and 5 theme it's because it legit doesn't even sound like something you would hear in the game itself. Episode 3 for exemple looks like it belongs in Dead space as ambience sound you would hear when standing still in a place with no enemies...meanwhile episode 5 just gives that silent hill Vibe
@@EverettEdits i am still not 100% about the entire kenny being carver thing Like yeah the developers did mention at the very beggining he was a possible antagonist, but it was so much at the beggining it din't even go as far as getting a concept art, i think when they more or less got it done he was meant to still be a friend to clementine, but he would die just like everyone else. Besides how kenny as antagonist would work for the player and clementine? Clementine was the only friend duck had at the beggining of the outbreak, not to mention if your lee was a best friend to kenny.
@@RedAndBlue82 it would work out 50/50 After shit Kenny went trough in just 3 days he would be perfect example for antagonist Losing Kat, Duck, Lee, discovering who betrayed Motor Inn group, depression, and after S1 being lonely without any friends But also here comes Lee, no way Kenny would hurt his best friend "daughter" But I bet he would mostly try go convince Clementine to be on his side, Probably most players would go with Ken because after shit Cabin group pulled out like, Nick almost shoting Clem, locking her in shed, Rebecca being annoying b*tch
@@EverettEdits yeah that's what i thought,i think he would be a indirect antagonist...not a total threat to clem, but he's clearly showcasing the very last piece of Humanity in kenny died when lee died as well
weirdly i went on my little brothers xbox and the season 1 slide was playing the beta theme and vince was on episode 4's slide im prob gonna play through it to see if it has anything hidden or cut
Either use an Xbox 360 *if you have it* or a mobile device, iPad or phone, the Xbox 360 still has the old episode 2, 3 and 4 themes but not episode 1 and 5. As for iOS, there’s only the old episode 4 theme, the rest of them aren’t available.
