I love how Jadis acknowledges that Rick and Michionne are the king and queen. Two A’s combined with a high determination to reunite with their kids, cannot be stopped. They will dismantle the CRM. I think michonne has an extra bit of determination because RJ exists.
As good as I thought Daryl, Maggie and Negan's spinoffs were, The Ones Who Live is just proving the point that Rick is The Walking Dead. The entirety of all the shows have not been as good as these three episodes for years.
Rick's conversation with Jadis at the beginning, especially when he says "She doesn't belong here." Is probably the most scared I have seen him since Negan. Andrew's delivery is on point!
Same, I really thought when he said "what we had is broken" or something along the line of that, she was going to tell him or he was going to tell her 😭 Just stresses me out, but overall fantastic acting !!
It’s smart michonne didn’t tell Rick about rj right away as ricks already going through enough as it is with having michonne there and everything else with rick knowing how risky it is trying to escape . Rick knowing about rj now would make ricks brain go crazy as much as it has already

Okafor had a higher rank. He was Lieutenant Colonel Donald Okafor. Thorne was Commander Sargent Major. Rick was Sargent Major. Thorne was no Okafor. He would have been impressed by Michonne/Dana and fast tracked her up the ranks. She would be the type of A he was looking for. Instead, Thorne saw her as a threat. Michonne moving that RDIM 100 yards with Rick joining her the rest of the way ensured the mission was a success. However it was Thorne who failed her first mission. She was not happy.
GREAT VID! Danai and Andrew's acting is incredible. They are so great together! Danai's acting gets overshadowed by Andy's sometimes but you cannot deny that Danai is bringing it! Those momens when she just looks at Rick and everything she is saying to him is just in her eyes and face. Like that moment when he pulls her aside after she doesn't leave and she takes off Rick's helmet and basically says I am not leaving you here, I am bringing you home to our kids. What a woman! Brilliant. Danai's portrayal is nothing short of brilliant. It's disappointing that many RU-vidrs fail to acknowledge her exceptional acting skills. What a powerful episode. I thought this episode was amazing and 4 is a favorite? Crazy!
She needs more credit for her skills. She truly is inspiring. I think this is why Andrew Lincoln has so much love and respect for her. To show run an episode while producing her own project. Crazy!

Andy is so fine omg and his acting along with everyone else is top notch. Thorne switched up real quick, Okafor was wrong about her. Nothing she saw can justify them killing innocent people like Michonne's friends and A's and testing on people without their consent. Using humans as lab rats is not okay, so idc what shook Thorne, the CRM has to goooooo!! The way they capture Mother Earth in these shots are so beautiful. Also, how they shot both of them in that tunnel was some great shots too.

I really think Thorne is the one who wants to blow up the summit. She seems traumatised by that full briefing, and the show wants us to think she's on board with all the bad stuff, but I really think she isn't. She just really wants to change the CRM, hence she is so afraid that Michonne is gonna bring her down, because if Michonne does something wrong, it will all fall on Thorne's shoulders.
Jadis is such a bone chilling menace….no one has humbled both Negan and Rick, yet she has. She is dominating this series and I look forward to her epic downfall. Sidebar, Danai in this episode?!? Queen!!!
When Rick said to Jadis "People are a resource" I got chills that he used Negan's line. I can't wait until Michonne explains to Rick that Negan saved Judith's life! That's a reunion I can't wait to see and for him to see that he made the right choice with saving Negan :)
That's the very point I just made. Question is how does rick & michonne find out all their people now live at the commonwealth & are safe then they can escape knowing jadis would attack Alexandria with no one living there

We are right around Portland, Oregon. I'm immediately assuming that Philly's Military has a much stronger presence and many more resources, so they're able to transport across the continent with ease vs Portland who likely doesn't have the same tech or military might. The Summit of Leadership is between these two cities to discuss their future... I have an idea on where this is going: just as Omaha was annihilated by the Philly CRM, I believe that they are planning on assassinating Portland's leadership and taking over their assets. They destroyed Omaha in partial due to potential future conflicts and too much dependency upon Philly. Why not do the same with Portland, become the one superpower left on the entire North American continent, and insert their "Fascist" policies to control the future for all of humanity? I'm getting the vibes this is like History repeating itself. We've gone over plenty of different forms of governing communities - of which most/all of them have failed to thrive. Except for this one - the CRM takes on this fascist type pattern. Just as in Germany before WW2, upon many tried parties who failed them, they looked to the ones who promised for the betterment of their country's future - one with a 1000 year plan and a path carved in stone for the development, endowment, and advancement of Humanity. Thorne is like an agent for good who's slowly turning into the enemy - a good spirited soldier who wants to believe in the hope for the blessed Utopia, one who doesn't even recognize what's on the horizon and that it's not at all what they want after all. In the Daryl Dixon series, WW2 was even brought up at his grandfather's grave - he died at the Battle of Normandy. In the Flagship TWD show, Rick mentions his grandfather served as a Leader of sorts, like a commander in the US Military during WW2 (I forget the exact rank, but it's close to the position he has now in the CRM). What if, in some future variation of The Walking Dead, there's some major war, and Rick is a Commanding General over a resisting force against the CRM, and Daryl leads a battalion of soldiers in invading the US mainland where he dies in the midst of the chaos? It's a stretch, but I can't help but think about the potential this timeline has with each passing spin-off.
This whole story so far is brilliantly shot and told. Even if it seems like Jadis and Rick are bound together by secrets and convenience there is an underlying ambition in the way Jadis communicates with Rick every single time. How Jadis says "Oh but I am involved" "If She just stayed away this could have all been avoided" "Im sure you did it for her. Im sure that's true, but I wonder if there is something else keeping you here" and finally, the way she shows up and greets Rick at the cascade forward operating base knowing that Michoone was watching, and Jadis looks at Michoone with Rick next to her like "Yea, I took him away from you, and look at us, still together, while your over there" kind of look. It's so subtle, and brilliantly acted. Also last but not least.. When Thorne looks at Michoone as a threat and picks up her rifle and looks at Michoone through the rifle scope I couldn't help but cross compare that moment with that scene in season 1 of the walking dead, when Shane locks in his gaze on Rick in the woods and aims his shotgun at Rick.. With that look of malice, and playing it out in his head on what the story would be he would tell the others if he did pull the trigger. "it was an accident, we heard something in the woods, thought it was walkers and decided to investigate. It resulted in friendly fire by mistake, man.. we need to start wearing reflective vests out here" (Shanes exact quote) Thorne is seeing Shanes perspective on the world since the briefing with Major General Beale. Thinking she knows what the course of action is, and disagreeing with Rick on every front based on a slight difference of opinion based on procedure and who follows whose ideas on how to survive.

My predictions for the final episodes. Jadis will send forces to Alexandria, hilltop, Oceanside, and wipe them out. (By helicopters shooting gas or by ground invasion.(I believe the survivors will flee to the commonwealth.) Rick and michonne will discover that by the last episode
Your probably right but one thing you havnt thought off. Those 3 places would be deserted. All survivors are now at the commonwealth living a happy life
Giving people power is actually a very good way to make sure they don't step out of bounds while also keeping them invested in your little power hierarchy you've got going on. Just look at Jadis and Thorne before and after they joined the military, seems like they completely changed and to an extent Rick too I suppose. Obviously the big downside is that they could then potentially use the power you gave them against you
I loved this episode, but I was stressed out the entire time. I understand why he said it, but seeing Rick tell Michonne its over was just gut wrenching. I cannot wait until Ep. 4!
I may be wrong, but, at this point in my life you.d have yo prove it😅.. and, erra, I believe that Thorne is on to Rick & Michonne.s relationship, and their plan, also that Jadis may have "indirectly" put it in her ear, ALSO, Thorne is in love w/ Rick🤔.. Eh, we could say that retroactively that it could tie into it, but they weren't planning the CRM all the way back then. I'm pretty sure Gimple himself said they started planning these ideas around Season 7 (which is around the time Andrew Lincoln decided he was going to leave around Season 9). So they only wrote in Jadis and all of that stuff because of his exit. (Also, the second helicopter was in Season 8, not Season 5)
I don't know if anyone else has thought about this but even if jadis went after Alexandria it wouldn't matter because I don't believe anyone is there anymore. Everyone should be living a ling & happy life now in the commonwealth & a very long way from Alexandria. Of course rick & even michonne wouldn't know about the commonwealth & neither would jadis. Interesting scenario because if rick & michonne knew the truth then everyone they know wouldn't be in danger if they tried to escape.

yeah, the commonwealth canonically is in ohio and alexandria is in virginia. realistically, the crm and jadis probably don't even know that the commonwealth exists

Exactly that's the good thing. Now michonne needs to make some kind of contact so she knows because when she left she knew nothing about the commonwealth.
I'm starting to wonder if Beale may be in on it all and was Okafor's partner in the plan to change the CRM. I know I could be so far off here but there's just something about the way he has measured Rick.....including asking Rick if Okafor was up to something that he should know about? I wonder if he was testing Rick's loyalty to Okafor instead of trying to find out if Okafor was really up to something because he knows already what's happening and he's a part of it. I'm not a huge fan of Thorne. I think she clearly sees Dana as a threat because she sees how badass she is and she knows that Miss Dana could easily take her spot and then some. I also think she's in love with Rick and that once she figures out who Dana is she's going to want her gone so much more so because she wants Rick. Again, I know I could be totally off base on all of this and if so great because then I'll be extremely surprised at who is good and who is evil. I'll be surprised either way just because of how amazing the writing is. These last three episodes are as good as the first three episodes of The Walking Dead.... But they are also so much better than the first three because now we absolutely love Rick and Michonne and are so vested in their story so seeing them together is just freaking awesome. I'm shutting up now, lol
I couldn't get over the fact how reckless Michonne was being. Rick told her to lay low and she was just putting herself in danger of Thorne taking her out which annoyed me. So now they are going to have to put together some plan on the fly and hope Jadis doesn't do anything to Alexandria....a little bit frustrated but still a solid episode
This might be an unpopular opinion, but this show is significantly weaker than the other two post-TWD spin-offs. The dialogue is terrible, the pacing is terrible and the new characters are painfully uninteresting.
Least liked episode so far, that ending and the way it was edited was just jarring🙄 seems like there's an entire sequence missing between Michonne about to respond to Rick's freak out and them then being on the chopper
