Hej hej. Could you do a video about data link systems that could be added to 4th gen fighters and how that could work in game. I have an idea of it being a fov extension to your radar outside your search zone where enemies detected by friendly data link capable aircraft are displayed. Some datalink systems are more and less accurate and maybe with diffrent sizes to this datalink area on the radar. Thank you!
I can't imagine what gaijin was thinking with the rocky canyon map, a couple days ago I got this map with my 3.7 p-47. The airfields still had the Roland AA.
I recommend using the TWS Mode on the radar, it’s basically a free blind hunt, it grabs on to a person it sees and gives you all the information you need to know to have a easy intercept. All of this while they are only getting searching pings on their RWR.

This is one of the reasons I'm going to click off this video, dude complains about small maps then goes and says the big maps are too big and a waste of time. You can't complain about one thing then complain about the solution with literally the opposite of the original complaints complaint. If that makes sense.
Lets take your own quote of spit's statement : 'jets are faster and capable of BVR engagements' . Which one of these planes are capable of BVR engagements? Most planes and that BR bracket have AIM-9 G/J/L who will be 3-4 km range, with the exception of the AIM-9 L that might be 5-6km range. You need a powerful radar set with long range semi active/active radar guided missiles such as what the F-14 gets. The issue is that maps like these have been put at BR's where planes don't have the BVR capabilities to do any BVR engagements. I don't see how one statement mutually excludes the other, there is a place for large with more BVR capable planes being added at max BR, its just not suitable at this BR.
@@kannonfodder4198 sure the map is too big for that BR, but in terms of top tier it is a very good map, second of all, it will make the transition to newer and newer jets more seamless, so that we don't have gen 4's flying the same maps as WW2 era prop planes
it should be just common sense to have arb EC as a seperate mode, that way everybodys happy and can play what they want to play but noooo "itll split the playerbase too much"🤡🤡
I think the large maps are something we really need for games at 11.3, where everything has long range radar missiles, however anything below that should not play on them, the fact that you can still get a prop game on the canyon map is stupid. I think the best way to solve it otherwise is to just make RB EC it's own gamemode, something like air sim but with RB difficulty, i would play it all the time.
You can just call it the attack-Viggen to distinguish it from the fighter variant. Also it honestly sounds like you were calling it the jakt-Viggen a few times which is wrong, that's the JA 37 (also before anybody comments I know it's spellt without a hyphen in Swedish, it's just there to make it easier to read for the English speakers..)
You could just use the 1st stage of the afterburner, which doesnt burn as much as the maximum WEP does. Just scroll up once with the mouse when youre at 100% to reach that 1st stage
Did you know you can get dumped in the Grand Canyon map in early/mid WW2 props? :) Imagine how much fun flying 10 minutes and not even being halfway across the map is!
Top tier players: Why are the maps so small? We can't properly engage with long range and BVR missiles! Gaijin: *Adds bigger maps* Top tier players: I can't stand these huge maps! They are too big! Seriously, I get the problem below 9.0 with this map and especially at prop BRs where they definitely don't belong. But anything above 9.0 is transsonic or super sonic. Just because a selected few vehicles don't work well on this map it's not a problematic map.
I certainly agree with the opinion on the large maps, they would be great if they came with a different game mode, but with the regular RB they just increase the time until the furball starts, and then needlessly drag out the late game
I can’t stand the large maps FOR THE CURRENT GAME MODE But I also can’t stand the current game mode… We need these huge maps to be used for a completely different style of play: RB hardcore(Enduring Confrontation)…No markers for friendlies or enemies so you have to either visually spot or radar scan planes to tell who they are, no time limit and let the match keep going even with only 1 player, a maximum of only 4-10 players in the match TOTAL and about 20 x as many ai targets and objectives.
I absolutely love the larger maps. It’s not like the mindless CQC crap. I wish EC was more frequent with planes, or even jets. Having the fights more spread out where you can ACTUALLY have dogfights while micromanaging your fuel is more enjoyable.
C'mon ! With his experience, he should know about first stage afterburner ! Large maps arent a problem, he is just finding excuses because large maps arent "content friendly" (that's the real reason, admit it) Climb with 1st stage, level out, enjoy, hold the full AB for combat
I'm going to disagree with you on 1 point. I really like the big maps, but only for TOP TIER jets. it actually gives them room to fly instead of take off right in the line of fire. I got the Grand canyon map at 5.0 one time... it was awful ended up doing a canyon run instead of fighting.
I can't fly worth a crap much less dogfight so I like the bigger maps. Graphics on max and just look around and have fun until I get got. Your dogfighting knowledge is impressive I wish I knew half the stuff you talk about in videos
these planes would be so much nicer if they added afterburner modes normally the viggen has 3, the first takes a bit more fuel but is a lot more powerful than using it at 100%, 2nd stage is the same but compared to stage 1 and then stage 3 which absolutely INHALE the fuel but it is INCREDIBLY powerful. Ingame we only have 3rd stage fuel intake with 2nd stage power
I guess we can agree to disagree on the maps. I hate the ADHD rapid-fire knifefights. These sizes of maps give top tier planes room to stretch and actually function as intended.
As long as it's just in supersonics, yeah. Trying to cross the whole map at 700km/h in a subsonic jet is painful. The only other thing is that the AA is way too lethal, you can't go ground pound if you don't want to spend time spotting dots.
tbh i have been finding the crusader less and less playable because of compression. it just cant manuver hard enough to dodge 7fs, r60s, (most of the time) etc and it does have flares but theres a lot of times where they dont make the cut to help evade missiles and it goes the same for chaff. its dogfight performance is great but it does not have 9cs, it does not go mach below 2500m and it performs kind of like a bus when exceeding 950kmh. it just cant really stack up to the f14s, sometimes mig23s, viggens, kfirs. you get the point. then again it could just be a skill issue.
I 1v4 clutched grand canyon in a harrier gr3. the map is so large I was fighting them 1v1 time after time and in 3 out of the 4 fights i just forced overshoots because they where 3xF-5Cs and 1xF-104 the F-104 lost a head-on and i killed the last F-5 with 2 mins left on the game clock and 30 seconds of fuel remaining
I was questioning your fuel load at first, but when you ignited the afterburner *holy crap* you weren't kidding, that has to be one of the most inefficient jets in the game
From what I’ve heard, in real life they’ve never gotten a confirmed top speed of AJ-37 Viggen. Because whenever they tried reaching it, they would still be accelerating significantly by the time they’d run dangerously low on fuel.
@@collander7766 You are only looking at nominal thrust of the engine when mounted on a test bed. That does not always accurately reflect the actual thrust when in flight.
Gonna have to disagree with you with EC maps, I think they add breathing space to toptier games which was very much needed. With the introduction of 4 generation fighters the traditional maps would lead to missile pile ups 2 mins after takeoff and just sucks overall since you cant be aware of 12 planes all at once. Now at least in EC maps you can pick your target and it can allow for some dogfights without the entire enemy team joining in 30 seconds after you merge with the guy.
The guns are absolutely trash. Gaijin seems to forget that the reason swedish jets didn't have tracers was because they had a radar lead but they havent modeled it in yet so its just unusable.
I think that they had it with some more jets like phantoms and i got removed, bc in arcade there is radar lead present and working but in name of balance they removed it from rb
@spitflyer I love your videos but I don’t share your opinions on the large maps….. I prefer the larger maps when you actually have to use your radar to find enemies and manage your fuel just adds an extra layer of gameplay that I feel we as pilots need.
Love those large maps, but, BUT - you need plane with radar and team that wont press J after loading into map. Lately I had some issues with spotting which is horrible at these big maps with anything without radar.
If you are open to advice, i recommend the J29A, then J29F to unlock the aj37. J29a is pretty much uncachable at its BR and you can do some good tricks with combat flaps as early as 600 km/h. J29F is a bit less competetive but easier in how to use it. Also has Aim9B's Sadly the lansen doesn't realy work out (for me at least) as it has no flares bad missiles turns like a brick and is very slow. Hope this helps!
Rocky canyon has the honour of my most boring match, since i got it in a 4.3 match with my french yak, my god it took 14 minutes to get to the halway point and by then all the bombers had destroyed the bases and there was nothing left to do. Its just so pointless and would only really work with high gen 4 aircraft like the tornado, f-16 or the mig-29 imo
I dont know how a predatory company like Gaijin has managed to turn the community against one another for being "wallet warriors" - when they should be directly taking all of the heat for using such aggressive and predatory business practices lol. Idk. I dont play the game- but it just seems like a practice of blaming both the dealer and the drug addict, when the entire situation is solved if you remove the dealer.
Speak all you want, I got grand canyon on 4.3 MM and it was fucking horrible, and yes the time almost run out with like 20 sec being left from the clock and the last enemy kill

Some guys yesterday resorted to saying "I have tiktok levels of attention" because I don't like these maps because they take too long. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the same
I don't think Spit understands a majority of us need to grind to get to these planes that are good against "wallet warriors". It's beyond frustrating and is complete and utter shit to go against these premiums in the meantime. Jets aren't worthwhile even with the upcoming update.
Whilst this is true, remember that planes below them can’t do anything against them and most of them can’t out turn the planes or out run the missiles. Sad days

I do know I have flown over rocky canyon in a rank 3 bf-109f4. Boy was it’s a very interesting experience that you are in a prop on a big jet map is a weird one and I was the last guy on the team and I didn’t know the last guy was a b-25j-30
Fun fact, the massive canyon map is the only EC map I get in props and it's immensely awful. For some reason it's the only one I've ever gotten in props, and it's i think the largest one.
