At 4:30 , France and Germany placed an EU flag there instead of fighting for the spot. That´s how their alliance started.

that moment of germany invading france was from the 2017 canvas. This year germany met france twice. but not by invading. germany was moving sideways and france downrwards and where they met they imidiatly formed a eu symbol and an arte logo.

The Germans actually did a schedule with different shifts and even night shifts :D

12:15 France did grow a lot when the second expansion happened. The held the bottom left corner all the time, huge Flag with hundred of thousand french people who were watching livestreams and rebuilding the Flag.

The difference between the German flag and the Ukraine flag is, that the Germans (me included) would let other people draw on the flag, to make it the background. Meanwhile the Ukraine flag destroyed everything in its way

i saw some people doing a heat map of r/place and it was really crazy how the french corner was the most assaulted by far but yet nobody's seem to notice about it x)

As the person who literally stayed up the entire night defending the british isles on the flag, i can say im impressed it held up so well

France, Turkey and Germany: *fighting for their flag and expanding* meanwhile, Poland and Bulgaria: *helping each other's flags stay afloat*

Germany worked together with both france and Belgium and helped multiple smaller communities defend too which was interesting to watch and see the discussions bout

For real, im Turkish and in my schools computer room like 40 kids at the same time was defending the Turkish flag and even our Dads , grandmas , WW1 kid uncle literally everyone on Turkey played it , 120k out of 400k total online players were turks , we were not bots it was new accounts . R/Place was in all news channels in Turkey

France was not too present: Literally France and Spain having a world War between streamers and wiewers and France having the biggest flag at the end.

As a Dutch person I love how people complain about the flags, But nobody notices the Netherlands claiming the entire top side

The thing that amazes me is the interaction between various arts connecting sometimes aswell. Like Belgium/ Germany or Germany clicking with star wars

Italy and Mexico sound like they would be great friends imo They both have good food, beautiful counties, ancient civilizations, complicated politics, Latin languages, fondness for tomatoes, fashion, sports, etc etc

Apparently we germans had a really german-like coordination including an organigram, ambassedors for neighbor tiles, a night shift and a voting system among all contributors. to paraphrase the discord: 'we are deleting the hearts, they don't have a permit'

I also love how Argentina was almost never griefed, and was sharinh with portugal and brazil in 2 different regions. It was great

I want to clarify something about Turkey taking over Quebec. xQc made the same mistake of not looking at the footage carefully as to why that happened. In one of the void attacks against the Turkish flag, Quebec actually used this as an opportunity to try and stretch its flag all across the Turkish flag. Turks, seeing this unjustified invasion then regrouped and counterattacked and just took over the entire Quebec flag. The thing is, this wasn't done by the mainstream Turkish community who was helping organise the Turkish side as they were sleeping during the attack, it was done by regular people who happen to be awake in the middle of the night who had just seen Quebec try to invade their flag. So, it was deserved.

There is a common German thing when they're on holidays in a hotel: Getting up at 5 am just to put a towel on the chairs at the pool to claim them theirs. And literally invading the expansion of the canvas with the German flag is the cultural equivalent to the towel on the chairs.

Impressive how you managed to talk about r/place for 14 minutes without mentioning France vs Spain pixel war. It's true though, that's not the only thing that happened to that event... And that's kind of an understatement.

The best thing about the Canadian maple leaf is that it never got finished and the Germans just because they can put one on the flag in 5 minutes and then another 5 minutes to tint it complicated... just a flex... Why the Germans were so successful ... quite simply diplomacy, everything that was in the way had an alliance or was wiped out you have also allied with neighboring communities, you have an alliance with northern France, Belgium and many streamers/VTubers, which is why their communities have also built on the borders of the German flag

I’m proud of my fellow Belgians. For once we all worked as one (which doesn’t happen often) to make the third biggest creation on r/place against way bigger nations/communities/streamers

France has made Thomas pesquet the french astronaut and they literally made Whole monuments every five minutes in 5 seconds

one funny thing about the german community was the german r/place discord. where everything was organized. one time somebody said something like "delete the hearts they not allowed" which describes the situation pretty much.

germany had a bit of a expansionism problem but we were one of the most peacefull communitys i would say. We even showed Canada how to do the leaf. And the Germany vs France Video is from 5 years ago.

what I find funniest is I was watching the british one for a while and on the final day they were at war, because Peru's corner and Britain's corner overlapped, so hundreds of people were trying to keep their flag

the romanian flag was very beautiful with many refferences to romania, But poland completely invaded it. After that, Romania made another flag. It got pretty big. But guess what. Poland invaded it. We tried really hard to defend it, but failed

There's a little rundown of India on r/place. So first of all, we did way better than 2017. We added the national flag (the Tricolour), a photo of Royal Bengal Tiger - the national animal - and peacock - the national bird - the Taj Mahal, logo of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and a rocket launch to the open canvas. We also paid a tribute to cricketer Shane Warne, who died last month.Lord Hanuman, the Ram temple in Ayodhya, India Gate, the Himalayas, a lotus and a Namaste emoji were also a part of the canvas. The UPI logo, representing the digital push in India in terms of financial transactions, the Rupee and Hindu symbols Swastika too found place on the canvas. And also, when we were asleep, the turks just raided out flag and we were almost gone. But then we fought back. But some of us started to attack Denmark and captured it and the lego art. Then the rest of Indian community started redrawing the danish flag. We also drew ram temple on top of where the pakistani flag had been 😏
