Interesting. Years ago, I played Strangest Thing in the car on a road trip. Days later I walked by my 13-year-old son’s room and to my surprise he was playing it over and over. True, good music touches us all. And this song is great! Unlike anything I’ve heard before. Huge fan of this band.

I found this song (and album) a few nights ago while on a mushroom trip laying down thinking about my life and the existential crisis I seem to be going through as I approach 40. All the ways I’ve been so selfish as a person and lacking as a husband. This entire album (especially In Chains & this song) made me see my life through different eyes and I wept. Not for myself but for my wife, for us… for the distance that has grown between us. I grew comfortable in that space and I hadn’t realized how lonely she must be. But it also gave me hope and the clarity to know the path forward to show love unconditionally and unselfishly. If I could take one song with me when I die it will be this one. This album is absolutely perfect. Thank you Adam. 🙏🏼

@@kathleenbarber9677 Respectfully, you could not even begin to understand all the reasons why I decided to take those journey's (which were btw not for recreation reasons) even if I had to explain it to you in full detail or how immensely it has benefited me in a psychological & spiritual sense, and that's perfectly alright. Just the same, I cannot possibly imagine what you would need or not need even if I knew you. Be well.

I have never found another band where-- each time I listen to one of their songs-- I say to myself 'No, THIS one is the best I've heard!' I can CERTAINLY say that about this band. This is one of the more beautiful pieces of art ever created. The lyrics: 'But I ain't got everything I need If I'm just living in the space between The beauty and the pain'... Are hauntingly true. I can find myself, lose myself, then find myself all over again when I listen to The War on Drugs.

Amazing to me how each instrument on even his previous album was able to carry the melody and then bring the song to a point where they all just crash and blend together - to the point where the instruments are literally arguing for who is going to get it next, bringing the song to this chaotic level while still being able to blend the sounds and carry it out into an outro. The Letter Bleeds l totally agree with you man. l have been put down for speaking out about AF like that over on Electric Blue video. TWoD are a damn fine band with such a beautiful guitar sound and they evoke such strong feelings and emotion... With AF, it's just shallow, pop music now and band members pretending to play instruments.

The tone of his guitar for the solo parts is absolutely incendiary. I can't get enough of it. What he's playing isn't complicated, but his control of feedback and sustain grips me in a way I can't quite explain. Does any guitar player out there know how to recreate this sound?

After I heard this song for the first time, I was MIND-FUCKING-BLOWN. There were tears streaming out of my eyes, I was hyperventilating, my spine was tingling like no tomorrow... I felt like I'd been reborn, like everything that had ever happened to me before then had just ceased to exist and my life had reset completely. It actually took me a while to get back to feeling normal again, but I didn't care at all. When a song does that to you, you have to treasure it until your very last breath.

I have to admit, I just discovered this band today during a radio interview with Adam Granduciel. He discussed his previous bouts with anxiety and panic attacks. He didn't know initially whether he could carry on or even if he was capable of writing and performing. I admire him. He was very honest and went on to perfect his craft and overcome his major obstacles. Great guy. Great sound. Great band. Love em.

Gary O I discovered them 2 years ago on my birthday in a local comedy club when their music was playing and I asked our waiter who is that I love them? Sounds a little Dylanesque. And our waiter who was also a comedian said The War on Drugs and I've been hooked ever since! And I just HAD to see them live at Radio City music hall!!! It was the birthday gift from my husband that just keeps on giving! And I'm going to see them live again in NYC!

It is incredible what music can do in the hands of such talented people, I have been following The War on Drugs since 2016, I discovered them through a recommendation and from there I became a fan of them, this melody despite being several years old still It moves me a lot and calms me a lot, I suffer from anxiety and in my most difficult moments this band has accompanied me, I could say without a doubt that The War on Deugs has saved my life sometimes, for this and more I will always be grateful to carry a little piece with me from The War om Drugs.
