I've been waiting for you to do these two songs. Thank you. I cry every single time I watch. Now, react to Dany's solo version of When I'm Alone from the same show. You will not be sorry.
Pau's voice is so special. Listening to Black Holes and Breathe, you wouldn't picture her as the heartbeat of a hard rock group. These songs carry such an emotional punch and Pau's emotional gratitude for the fans singing along with her can't help but warm the coldest of hearts. Pau could front any number of bands and the clarity that she and Dany sing with is stunning.
It been mentioned in other comments from other reactors: Their record label wanted one more song to be added to their album "ERROR" and asked Pau for her song (Breathe) she agreed with the stipulation that she will not be forced to sing this song live, it was added to their album "ERROR" as a bonus track. I believe at their concert at Teatro Metro a recording of Breathe was played during a break. Now at Pepsi Center with 8,000 in attendance Pau felt compelled to sing Breathe live as a gesture of gratitude for the love and support of the fans. Don't think she''ll do it again based on her reaction!
Amazing that she had the talent and empathy to write such a moving song about the despair of addiction or alcoholism (Black Holes) at the age of 13. Breathe is reportedly based on her experience with panic attacks (though I don’t know that she has ever publicly explained the meaning). 😎👍
I never thought I would ever be able to hear Breathe performed live. Such a beautiful performance along with Black Holes. Another Epic song from the Pepsi Center. "When I'm Alone" Beautiful Performance from Dany. Just her with an acoustical guitar. Very beautiful Too.
I think that for Black Holes, Pau is accompanied by 6 violins, 2 violas and 2 cellos. For me Black Holes is about addiction, the key lyric for me being "All alone in an alleyway, Staring at my face, In the reflections of broken bottles".
Very nice reaction... Thank you so much for reacting to these amazing songs. Please react to "When I'm Alone" it's just Dany and her Acoustic Guitar another incredible song. She wrote at age 15. While away from some Family and Friends at Berkeley College of music.
Dear MommaOG, thanks for your truely emotional and sincere reaction to these two very touching Songs. Another Absolutely Beautiful song is 'When I'm Alone ' Dany with her Fender Acoustasonic Guitar. Also very Touching. I just love when they play these kinds of songs.
Thank you. While there is a lot of speculation about Breathe, as Pau says, the song is personal ... and private. So, I just cry with her and don't worry about things that are not for me to know.
I watched "Black Holes" and "Breathe" with a friend. He suffered from addiction, I suffered from panic attacks and Thanatophobia (extreme fear of your own death). Both songs hit us Hard but he broke during "Black Holes" and I broke during "Breathe". We knew nothing about the songs in advance but he said "Black Holes" was the best song ever about addiction; I said "Breathe" is Exactly what it is to suffer from Thanatophobia as I literally had recurrent night terrors of drowning, felt I was being dragged to the bottom, couldn't Breathe, would wake in a cold sweat still holding my breath and had to force myself to breathe. Horrible. Therapy help enormously. I only learned later Pau has a constant fear of death (Thanatophobia). Pau spoke of it, Ale has too, and how Pau regularly has these attacks after concerts. Ale constantly watches her sisters to make sure they're okay. Watch the credits at Teatro Metropólitan 2022; Pau who seemed so happy during the concert starts to break down when it ends; no one notices but Ale whose been watching Pau the entire time. Everyone is basking in the post-concert euphoria but Ale is laser focused on Pau, comes over to Pau, and comforts/ cradles Pau like she's a child. Pau is so small and hunched over and Ale so tall and strong by comparison she looks like a mother comforting a child; Ale was only 17 at the time. These are amazing songs by Pau, a great songwriter, performer, and human being, but watching the Teatro Metropólitan credits made me realize how incredibly special Ale is too. Ale may seem very introverted; but she's always aware of everything. Ale has perfect and timing and pitch and it is Ale who constantly holds the band together musically by making sure her sisters are always together, on pitch and timing, and in unison, but Ale's also perfectly tuned into her sisters emotionally and there for them. These are 3 very special women; very different people but all remarkable.
For those who think the friend passing away is fan fiction. Please go look up the video titled Will you cry with Dany. In a Instagram midnight show Dany dedicates a song to a friend that had passed the year before. The same year Pau wrote breath. This is the only time Dany has ever talked about this. I believe its about a shared friend. Pau was having panic attacks . But imagine dealing with that tragedy and still having to tour and promote a new album. I think Pau never mentions the friend for the same reason she said she would never play this live. Its still to painful. Love you PAu. Thank you for trusting us with this.
In Breath there are probably three ways here. One is the depression story you described. The second way and I don't have confirmation for that, but it is said again and again that the song hits Paulina so hard because she wrote it for a deceased friend. This friend is said to have drowned. I think the thing with the deceased friend could be true. I don't think he drowned. I think someone invented it because the lyrics of the song reflect exactly that and I think someone made it very easy for themselves to spread a rumor. Paulina is, I think, very poetic here and describes her feeling in grief or she imagined how her friend felt under depression before he left this world. Or it's just a feeling. I go with the third option. We all know, and this is confirmed through Pau, that Paulina is terrified of her own death and she wonders what will be left of her in memory when she is gone. Whether people see after their death or experience in some way what becomes of their legacy. In Breath, she describes this fear that nothing will remain of her and that she will be forgotten. Disappearance without a trace, she says in it.
The death of a friend could be right. In this clip Dany mourns the death of a friend with a song. Don't know the time frames of when Pau wrote "Breathe". The clip with Dany is from 2023 and she says that she lost the friend in 2021. I think Pau wrote "Breathe" a few years earlier, but am not sure. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8RNTS9wAU8s.html&ab_channel=TimberWolf762
The "Dead Friend" is a fan-fiction myth. It's pretty obvious Pau is writing about the feelings of depression and anxiety that accompanies people who suffer from panic attacks. Pau has stated it's a panic attack set to music. Please refrain from spreading this falsehood about a dead friend. Also, I should mention that even the dead friend myth takes on different versions (as any falsehood usually does) with one being its about a friend who "un-alived" themselves, or a friend who drowned, or a friend who died of cancer, or a friend who died in a car crash. Its getting ridiculous and distracts people from hearing the message Pau is trying to convey.
@@timpadgett7840 I think I've made it pretty clear that these are rumors and I've made it clear that option 3 is the one I'm going with, which logically includes your view.
@@TomTomson81 unfortunately, lots of commenters will read this rumour, and repeat and spread it as a fact. And while you think you have made your intentions clear, and I don't doubt them, you did start with the (what longtime fans know to be) fan-fiction.
Best I could find out Breathe was written after a school friend died tragically, about when Pau was 8th grade. Maybe died of suicide by drowning? "Is it so wrong wrong to want to feel alright?" "The water's creeping down my throat". "Something is pulling me down" When the 3rd album was finished and was one song short her team talked her in to putting this song on the album. She refused to re-record it. Still too painful. Her original recording on the home piano was used. Just her and the famously always slightly out of tune piano. It's truly a special song from a great composer.
Oh don't be so dramatic. I didn't pause it every 5 seconds. 😅Either way, you don't have to watch my videos if you don't like that I pause and express my thoughts when they come to me. 👍🏻
