I think the reason we are so attached to these young women is because we watched them grow up before our eyes. YT is full of videos of them from playing piano as they started their musical journey, to Ale learning the bass. Pau playing and dominating the drums at 10-years-old, and Dany playing her heart out when she was 13 on such covers as Back in Black. Thank you, Jimmy, for reacting to The Warning. Peace.

In case no one has mentioned it, The Warning's 2nd album is a concept album, _Queen of the Murder Scene,_ which tells the story of a disturbed young woman's inner journey from desire to obsession to murder and madness. The songs are told from the point of view of either the young lady's inner psychopath or her good side, which has a conscience - until it does not. 'Dust to Dust' is the intro, with the drummer singing lead while still drumming furiously.
Right off the bat, I appreciate your genuine approach to this - no hyping it up, no rehearsed intros, just straight up and straight from the heart. I think you're going to love this band, and their fans, until you inevitably become one yourself. Now enough of that. Let's rock!
I don't ever prepare and I rarely cut anything out. I will say that I am careful to be respectful because I know what these bands mean to their fans. I want it genuine. Folks can tell the difference. I rely on suggestions, I'm afraid if I go scouting I will ruin the first listen. I love having no idea what's coming or how I'm going to react. I never put my hands down on rollercoasters. Cheers!
I finished high school in the early 80s, listening to everything from Queen to Parliament, Boston to Earth, Wind and Fire. The awesome thing you learn about these fantastic artists is they did too. They consume literature and music and it’s evident in their work. I am in a constant state of amazement and admiration for their talent, dedication, and fearlessness.
Look forward to more reactions. I think you'll find their blending of hard rock with a few other elements like punk, pop, grunge, even some metal will create a sound that is unique but very familiar. I was a teen in the 70s and this is the first band to really get my attention in 40 years.
Same with me! My first favorite band were The Beatles when I was around ten. Missed the Beatlemania as they had already split up. Now it's somehow like a Warningmania to me!
It took a lot of (well you know, cajones) for them to do this. They had a week from receiving notice that they were doing this cover, to the point that they had to submit the mastered track. So they had to create the arrangement, record it, collaborate with a singer in Canada for her parts, record it, mix it and master it in seven days. That's a lot of tough decisions for them to make in such a short time. Metallica fans are a tough crowd, and softening up the most famous metal song of all time like they did, and replacing (!!!) all of those legendary riffs, as a female band? Tough, tough decision - and I respect it a lot. I wasn't a fan originally, but it's grown on me for sure. The studio/video version is great as well, and is actually even lighter sounding than this live version. As for how I feel about the song - what do I know? Metallica chose to open the album with it. But I will say that this band is far better than their covers. Sandman may have got them their foot in the door, but they've since blown that door off it's hinges.
I love The Warning. I'm so glad I got to see them on Aug 13th, 2022. Had to drive 4hrs, but it was 50min. For $26. I bet you won't get tickets for that again.

Disciple is a song I hope you check out. It really show cases all three ladies. A song with a message, Ale's killer bass line, The harmonies of all three, The duet between Dany and Pau, the great fills on the drums and the melodic guitar riffs. These three wonderful ladies are great role models as well. They have family values and have surrounded themselves with a great team.
Every time I hear this brilliant adaptation - it just blows me away! The ladies show their incredible musical talents while at the same time showing respect to the iconic original song. And yes - you are in for an amazing ride down The Warning rabbit hole - you won't be disappointed!

@@jimmysrandom Well, Metallica practically told all artists from all kinds of genres of music to make it their own by playing their songs upside down, inside out or backwards in their anniversary album named *The Blacklist Album.* The Warning had one week to come up with a song and present it to Metallica. I think they did pretty well for a one-week project.
I actually dont like it, because itsTHIS song in particular, I mean the intro of enter sandman is sooo aggresive that this dosent do justice to it. I mean the song is good persee but not a good cover for aTHIS song. Maybe The unforgiven but not this

This is an incredible arrangement. They took this song into a completely different direction than anyone else would have, and made it darker than the original. To realize how quickly they did it, is amazing. It's not as hard of a rocker as the original, but the tempo and note choices allows the darkness to seep in an and anchor itself in you. They owned this thing.

Great way to explain a reaction. Like tasting a new Bourbon, Scotch, Irish Whiskey or Tequila that you've never tried and get blown away by the taste, smoothness, clarity and say "where was this all my life" But.............with that in mind, that's what sets The Warning apart from most bands! They may be new to most but they have been honing their skills for over 10 years. They are not an overnight success or an accident. These 3 beautiful young ladies come from a Mexican Traditional family. They don't drink, smoke, cuss or do drugs. They don't follow the standard, they set the standard. They write all their songs and music. Every song they release is better than the last one. Recommended songs for you are. Revenant, Martirio, Evolve, Sick and lastly, Hell You Call A Dream. All Live. If there's a movement to bring back the very hard rock guitar band, The Warning is at the leading edge. I'm 76, I went to college listening to The Beatles, Cream, The Stones, and other great guitar combos, seeing many of them live as I was a college music critic. These girls put on a better live show than any of those groups. They write great material, too.

In that case, I might have an interesting recommendation for you. A symphonic metalband with a songwriter/composer who loves 'The Dark Tower' series and other fantasy stories and references them in his songs. It's also a band with yet another great fanbase: Nightwish! They are a band from Finland with a Dutch singer, Floor Jansen. She has one of the best female voices in metal today. None of the Nightwish songs are alike. There are epic and melodic songs, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy. Their music is exceptionally well composed and arranged. Their musicality is outstanding and so is their lyrical content. Nightwish is best appreciated LIVE. Give the song ‘7 Days To The Wolves’ a try. Since you're a big Metallica fan, you might be interested in their cover of Atlas Rise.
