The title track from the album, this was a serious banger that I feel turned a corner in the story. Link to the original video: • Queen Of The Murder Sc... (check it out and show some love!)
That was indeed a lady screaming. Dany recorded that in their home studio to add to the demo for this song. They liked it so much they kept it on the album.
LZZY AND MATT ARE A TESTAMENT OF DANY AS A GREAT GUITARIST IT'S WHY THEY GIFTED HER THOSE GUITAR'S NOT BECAUSE SHE'S A SWEETHEART AND SHE IS OF COURSE,, I'M SURE YOU SEEN LZZY IN PLENTY OF INTERVIEWS RAVING ABOUT DANY INSPIRING LZZY ON THE GUITAR 🎸,, I THINK RIFF'S ARE MORE VALUABLE TO A SONG THAN A SOLO JUST BECAUSE RIFF'S ARE FROM A START OF A SONG TO THE END OF A SONG,, SOLO'S ARE A HALFTIME TO A SONG MAINLY,, I MEAN MAN DANY HAS SOME GREAT RIFF'S ON MOST OF ⚡ THE WARNING'S ⚡ SONG'S MEMORABLE RIFF'S I SAY.....
@@RussInCanada What I appreciate about Dany is her composition and the way she incorporates riffing into her chordal structures to support the melodies. Technically, Dany is good, but not great. But what she does to support the songs is on a level beyond the writing of most guitarists, imo. Her technobility -- being fluent and knowing sophisticated runs, patterns, and scales, etc. -- is undoubtedly going to grow to where, one day, she'll rip a lead that will go beyond melody and blow minds with speed and agility.
@TomClark-Futoura Exactly. Most skilled guitarists could play her parts, but would fail miserably at trying to play them while singing and running around.
Most of their songs , it's Ale's bass that gets my attention. But , in this song I love Dany's main guitar riff. When Lzzy Hale came out in the middle of TW set in 2022, and gifted Dany the Gibson Explorer, this is the first song that got played with it. Guitar, bass , and drums are the only instruments credited on this song. The word Pau is singing in the pre chorus is Korosu. Yes, it's Japanese, and roughly translates to 'kill' or 'murder'. Tomorrow (Jan 30) is Dany's 24th birthday, Happy Birthday.
They carefully compose _everything_ , and Dany's solos tend to be no exception. She'll make tiny changes, gain experience of course, and the standard "organics" in any live performance. But generally speaking, you'll hear the same solo whether it's the album recording, an OMV, or a live show. Which I consider a major positive of this group; having been to far too many concerts where live the band will mangle the recorded version I fell in love with to the point I get irritated.
Queen of the Murder Scene: A heavy, thumping bass A drummer beating the hell out of the Tom’s A singer who is becoming more and more evil The drummer, playing the ‘innocent’ girl, singing ‘korusu, korusu, korusu’ (not sure of the spelling) -a Japanese word meaning ‘kill, kill, kill’ The bassist, echoing the drummer, but in an amazing falsetto, And Dany showing us her “solo face”-which is awesome! That is a track of Dany screaming at the end These fantastic girls somehow make this song even heavier when they play it during the Teatro Metropolitan show-but more interesting is when they do it acoustic! You should watch both of them even if you don’t react to them! Great reaction, as always!
Thank you, and I do plan on reacting to other versions of this (and others). I plan on going back to Teatro, checking out the acoustic version(s), and even the Dia de Muertos ones maybe. I'm not sure if I'll have time to react to all of them (the list is long), but I'm definitely going to watch them at some point.
You can't go wrong with The Warning and a glass of Maker's Mark. The scream you heard was Dany. They recorded it at home for the demo and kept it. Dany turned out the lights to get in the mood and Pau and Ale freaked out listening to her. If you remember The Cars, they had the same type of guitar solos in their songs. They were always short but fit the song perfectly...just like Dany's.
Also, now that I think of it, the screams at the end remind me of a couple of the Roger Waters screams from Pink Floyd. The more popular one would be the one that transitions between The Happiest Days of our Lives and Another Brink in the Wall pt.2, but I think Dany's scream here is much closer to the one from Careful with that Axe, Eugene. Big props to anyone who remembers that one!
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Dany record it in a totally dark room. Pau and Ale said they were listening in the next room and the scream Dany made was so disturbing. Dany said she was surprised at the sound of her scream but she was in character of the evil queen for the entire week. Most of the backing effects they produce like piano sounds as they cant play it on live shows.
The audience was singing “Olé, Olé, Olé, Warning, Warning” as a sign of enthusiasm. Latin American crowds often chant the “Olé, Olé, Olé” at soccer matches, etc. as a sign of appreciation and encouragement to their team. 👍😎
David Bendeth the producer and Rick Carson the engineer of ERROR, mentioned in a behind the scenes, that the girls did everything themselves on the album, including the keyboards, rhythm guitar, the screams, etc. except for the sound effects. And they use stem tracks of those studio recordings like that Pau controls with MIDI pedals. If you want to learn more about their live setup, you could react to the rig rundowns that all 3 did recently with the RU-vid channel Digital Tour Bus.
DPA are the authors of so many magnificent songs that although these creations are very different, and all have the TW seal of quality. But this is one that takes a step forward in terms of heaviness, harshness, darkness and combined energy. "Queen Of The Murder Scene", a master piece from the impressive concept album of the same name. A completely masterful album that they dared to release when they were very young and... WOULD BE JUST THEIR SECOND ALBUM CREATED!! Who else has done something so outrageous? DPAs are geniuses!! Thanks and greetings. 🤘😁✌️
In the vlogs it is suggested that the Murder Queen may be on a killing spree whether that is literally or figuratively represented is subjective. At times, Dany simulates piano sounds on her guitar for a backing track. I don’t know if the “carnival organ” is one of those occasions. Ale’s bass is especially nasty in QOTMS. While there is a duality in Pau’s and Dany’s portrayal, I don’t believe the moniker of Queen is actually all that important to most of the story until QOTMS as long as you recognize the good and evil sides exist.
Yes, I definitely plan on going back and watching the couple of QOTMS songs I skipped when I did Teatro (QOTMS and Hunter), as well probably as the ones I already saw by accident but really didn't know what their context was.
The Teatro one is great, but the solo on this one is so perfect. She flubs a couple of notes on the Teatro solo (not enough to make it bad, but she does nonetheless) but she nails it so good here!
At times, it seems the guitar and Dany are singing the same verse as a duet. She’s an excellent singing guitarist. Happy Birthday to Dany; she is 24 today.
Your focusing on the lyrics because your invested in the story. You can always relisten to it all after you know the story to see how the music and lyrics come together. Actually the first track Dust To Dust is the last in the story so it works well on loop. The screaming was in fact Dany's screams. They talk about recording them in the vlogs. At this point the evil side has complete control and is the Queen Of The Murder Scene. Happy 24th Birthday to Dany. Well in 45mins my time anyway.
The girls said in their vlogs about this album that this song and Ugh were the most difficult to complete on this album. In my opinion they are 2 of their best songs. Hard work pays off!
As far as I know they don't really use samples. Not sure if my memory is correct but I know that there have been songs with some light keys in the background & while any of the 3 could play it the ones I remember generally has Pau credited somewhere in the album notes. Pau has made the comment in the past that since she only has two arms that she can't play the keys and the drums at the same time... Some of the screaming was done by Dany when they made the demos and they came out so well they used them on the actual album without trying to replicate them.
These sisters are overwhelmingly talented!! They are the best power trio of XXI century! EPIC live performance!! The entire QOTMS album is a masterpiece written by teenage girls! Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
'Maker's Mark' yes, my drink! CHEERS! Anyway, I think you're absolutely right to concentrate on the lyrics and storyline with this album, after all, it's a concept album. And those screams are indeed Dany, the girls amusingly talk about that in either Vlog 23 25 or 26 (can't remember which). The Ole, Ole, Ole chants, well, some fans sing that during dead space between songs at some of their concerts.(it's a soccer match chant). Oh, and yes, very clever use of that organ sample in this song, huh! 👊⚡️🤘
I'll have to look that up; I haven't heard of that show. I'm familiar with the Movies that made us and Music that made us, but I haven't seen a food one. Sounds interesting.
@DadDaughtersandDrinks I think it's either on Food Network or History. It's super interesting. I've seen the history of Hershey chocolate, McDonald's vs Burger King, Sub chains, Post foods, Buffalo chicken wings, American beers, etc.
Awesome, I'll definitely try to find and watch some episodes. It's funny, I'm from Buffalo, and never knew Buffalo Wings were a thing until I moved to Chicago when I was 18. To me they were just wings, and I assumed everyone else had them also.
This song has always given me mid-sixties vibes, think spy thrillers. I know that's not what they are writing about, but the instrumental could be from a movie theme song.
Getting to really know The Warning is a journey. Not a destination. And like you said, you already know their musical side so, now you travel to the lyrics and meaning. Keep going! I love your analysis! Dany is SO scary when she jumps into character. When a band has this much fun performing, they suck you right in with them. Over and over and over.⚡⚡⚡ Oh, the sound in the backing track is emulating a 1960s era Farfisa organ. Check out The Doors - Light My Fire for a taste of that 'far out' Farfisa sound!
Ah yes, that really is a Doors type sound! Thanks for isolating that sound for me; I went back to listen a few times and it was like trying to think of a word at the tip of your tongue and you just can't quite find it. Only it was with a sound : -)
this title song of the album depicts the evil side of the Queen flaunting its immortality and some might also say its immorality... you don't really want to understand what its like to have blood on your hands. you don't deserve it, the crown is mine! TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
At this point things have turned to lunacy and I think in terms of The Joker and Harley Quinn laughing crazily while they go on a crime spree. It’s turned to a comic style romp, the next song cements that idea. Getting to the end now. It’s been fun hasn’t it
Once you finish the concert and the album, and form your conclusions. If you want to hear from the girls the meanings behind the songs, consider watching VLOGs #23, 25, and 26, where they discuss each song in detail.
Love that you hit on Dany’s solo. Her style is influenced so much by some of the greats from our generation like Clapton, Gilmour, Brian May, etc. No need to speed run scales up and down the neck and tap just to tap. Dany brings emotion to the notes she’s playing. Great reaction! Kids wrote these songs!!!
Thanks, and I completely agree with you. I mean, I've seen a few times where she's played some speedy stuff, but it's always been appropriate for the moment, and the rest of the time it's just tasty and melodic. Your comparisons with those greats is apt; I have a hard time thinking of a single time I've heard any of those guitarists play unnecessarily quickly. And in Gilmour's case, ever played quickly at all. Yet almost everyone (myself included) puts him in the highest echelon of players ever. Wise beyond their years indeed.
QOTMS : que buena tema ,un rock enérgico ,estupendo solo, excelente linea de bajo y Pau una de las mejores linea de batería ,que buen tema del album conceptual de QOTMS
The Lunario version of QotMS is 🔥but the Teatro Metropolitan version is 🔥🔥🔥It is more recent, and sounds a fair bit heavier. Dany's vocals are more powerful in the Teatro Metropolitan version, maybe because her voice had matured quite a bit at that point (her voice has aged like fine wine, and will continue to get better and better), but also because the Lunario show was at high altitude, making it more difficult to sing, and her voice sounded a bit strained at times. That said, the whole Lunario performance is amazing, and this song, and Crimson Queen, are my favorites from it, I think. Yet somehow, they managed to be even more epic at Teatro Metropolitan.
if many of the the famous bands were to be compared to DPA as teen muscians, composers. Its not always forward looking but backward looking as a measure of greatness.
Yes, the evil Queen is boasting of how evil she is. But notice that Pau, the good side, starts chanting 'korosu'. Japanese for 'kill'. She seems to be coming over to the dark side. Also, "You can always kill what's immortal . . . " - Much debate here when this album came out. My take is that she is not an entity, but simply evil itself, and you will never remove evil from the world. More murders after this, in 'P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.'.
Makers Mark was my go to bourbon for a long time until i found Knob Creek. The Knob Creek is significantly more costly but is my favorite. I havnt been watch your channel long so im not sure if you have ever tried the Knob Creek. If not, im sure you will love it . Oh, about the vid , Ale's bass is slammin! Hard to believe she 13 or 14 years old and basically a kid has the stamina to complete a long set. Shes definitely in the zone all the way to THE END. I cant wait till you get to PSYCOTIC! Its all cheerleader punk and way different from the typical Warning songs. I kind wish with their newer stuff theycwould go back to a more punk sound and a heavier sound like queen of the murder scene. Not sure im im liking the direction they have gine with MORE and the two other new songs..its definitely leaning in the pop direction.
Yep, I'm a big fan of Knob Creek also. The reason I haven't been seen drinking it during the reactions so far is that I'm all out and just haven't remembered to buy more when I'm out and about (and I've got plenty of other bourbons to tide me over!) Ale's bass is indeed slapping, and while I don't think I said anything about it during the Lunario songs, I'm pretty sure I mentioned their incredible stamina in my Teatro reactions. I don't think I've heard any of the newer songs yet, but if it's getting poppy, I hope that's just a phase. I'll probably still like it, but not as much as the old stuff. It's funny, the comparisons I've had with the Warning and Rush have been plenty so far, and this would really continue that comparison (I don't think Rush was ever really quite the same once they started using a lot of synth).
