Best trivia on this song... the sisters jokingly refer to this song as "Smells Like Melon" because "When I'm Alone" sounds like "huele a melón" in Spanish, lol.
Dany wrote this when she was a Berklee Music college she was AGE 14/15. It was the first song she wrote entirely by herself, because it was an assignment for her Class. You have to remember all these songs were written before Covid. They had just finished an Album when Covid lock down happened so they had to sit on it for 2 years.
Not quite. They had a tour planned when Covid hit with only days before their scheduled start and had to cancel. They then switched focus to recording the album.
@@donrichards271 Yes they had to cancel two tours but They were going to promote the new album on those tours. this ios what they tell Allison Hagendorf in their interview.
The first song that Dany wrote was "Eternal love" from the EP Escape the mind, the first song that Pau wrote was Escape the mind from the same album and take me down was the first song that Ale wrote by herself, Free falling was the fourth song that The warning wrote and it was the first song they wrote together. So far we know that Dany has written by herself "Eternal love", "When i'm alone" and "Crimson Queen".
Fun Fact: this venue holds about 3000 people... Fun Fact: this concert sold out both nights it was presented here... Fun Fact: Ale and Pau accompany Dani with only their instruments... there's no backup singing or harmonies... this is all Dani... the backstory is elsewhere in these comments 😉 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Alot of these songs from Teatro Metropolitan are from their most recent album titled ERROR. They have one new single called MORE but they will be recording a full new album probably early next year.
When Im Alone is one of my favourites just for what it means to Dany and the band. Like you, its not necessarily my favourite sound, but when you factor in the emotional aspect, it brings it up the list. Its clear that a newer listener wouldnt know all the ins and outs of their songs, so songs like these might be rated a bit lower. Its also one of their more basic songs in composition - which makes sense since it was the first song Dany wrote on her own as a teenager.
Hey Justin! Awesome reaction, Mate! Yes, this is a classic rock power ballad, written by a homesick 15 year old Dany. I have seen them 4 times in a little over a year. One of the many things that stands out is that their playing and singing is SO GOOD and so EFFORTLESS. They Kill it live, and make it look so easy! And they are still so young, it's crazy. Future Legends!
Thanks Krash! Appreciate the comment, and wow you’re a true supporter of them, that’s awesome! I agree as well they just seem like true professionals 🤘🏻
@AxemanPierce their Enter Sandman video went viral and in 2015 they were invited onto the Ellen Degeneres Show where they were each presented with $10k to attend the Berkley summer music camp. Dany needed a song for the final project but was having problems writing because she was so homesick. So she wrote about it.
I understand what you’re saying. You’re not being disrespectful about the song, the lyrics and certainly not the vocals. The song is played great, it’s just not as heavy as you like it. I think it’s a very fair reaction my friend.
You would like the Queen Of The Murder Scene album best. If you weren't aware it's a concept album with a awesome story. Dust To Dust is the first track if that gives you an idea what to expect with it. Highly recommend it.
Greetings from Denmark - just realized I was not subscribed yet - here we've got a typical TW, where the 2 other sisters just let Dany shine with her song - she wrote it back in 2015 while they were attending Berklee College of Music and she was homesick,. Why should they, it's her song and she loves it.
I love this song. It’s not a face-melter of course. It’s just that the lyrics are amazing & because it’s so personal to her the performance is always epic. It’s the same with Pau and ‘Breathe’, short and simple but all emotion. P.S. on that same “the feels” scale is Pau’s cover of ‘Creep’.
She undoubtedly has natural singing talent, but she did not become this good just because of performing for years, she also actively worked with a vocal coach for years.
I love your honesty bro!! This one & more is not my favorites but that doesn't meant there bad songs,,just not my preference I'm the same, don't like screaming but love my music heavy AF!, I've got a heavy one for you from them,,check out Queen of the murder scene by them,,I think it's their heaviest song,I think you will love it!
Oh hell yeah I’ll deffs check that out, and thanks man it’s good to hear people say they appreciate honesty, people get touchy sometimes when someone says even the slightest thing that isn’t 100% positive when it comes to their favourite things haha !
Yes, she wrote this song at 15yo as an assignment for one of her classes during the 5 week course they all took at Berklee school of music. She was homsick for her friends. A short from her at Berklee. 46 sec. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o0wYN9Z9smA.html
And don't forget Mexico city is at 7,349 feet in altitude, pretty close to where you need oxygen to keep from blacking out, which is 10,000 feet. Not bad for a song off their first album when Dany and Pau were in their early teens and Ale wasn't yet.
The song really speaks to the teen Pop Punk fan I used to be, so I get nostalgia vibes that make it a personal favourite of mine. It feels like a song I listened to a thousand times, but it's a newer song to me so it's not a tired experience.
Good to see ya. Again.. you like heavy, how about a new family band.. ( independent band)huge fan base. Called LILIAC ( Lil-Lee-Ack) try RU-vid LILIAC MARS Live in Cumming Georgia 2019 or Piece of my heart (Joplin over) same show.. or Music video called Nothing or We are the children.. one of the best female voices ever.. like DIO & JOPLIN had a child and she sings ... 🤟🎶☮️
