In my youth, I watched a fair number of zombie movies. Not like, a ton mind you, but I've seen a decent number of them. Well, at least some of the famous ones - Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead (both versions), The Return of the Living Dead, and so on.
What sometimes disappointed me about those zombie movies was just how the zombies didn't match up with my expectations - in my mind, zombies should always have grey/blue/green skin, but sometimes in those movies the zombies would look like people but with just some blood on their faces.
That said, not all movies had bad looking zombies, sometimes (like in the original Dawn of the Dead) the zombies looked fantastic. I think part of the problem though is how good zombies look in video games - like when I think of The House of the Dead or like the Resident Evil 2 Remake, the zombies absolutely slap (and in some cases, quite literally!)
But I don't know if it's necessarily fair to hold movies to the same standards as video games, but it's also good to acknowledge that George Romero is very likely a huge reason why zombies are portrayed the way they are in media today.
I could go on about zombies (I really find them interesting), but originally zombies were meant to be Romero's criticism of consumerism, especially if you consider Dawn of the Dead. Now, I might be a bit off with my facts, but I remember that being the case.
I'll have to talk more about zombies in the future or something. I really find them to be interesting though.
