I'm Navajo. Almost every male on my mother's side has been involved with every war that this country was involved in, and on my father's side, there is a code talker and a Navajo scout ,This why I served also....thank you

I served 26 years and 4 tours in the Middle East. My family has been serving since WW1. We are Chickasaw!

I served in 86airborne, US Special Forces, MAC v SOG, served behind lines then Phoenix Program, then CIA military programs because I sought my Eagle Feathers after my grandfathers. Many of us were never acknowledged by the government though returned very wounded and took long to recover but my family sang for me while I was recovering from wheel chair and relearning to talk. The beauty was healing and brought me back

I served in the GWOT first with the Army and then with the Marine Corps and then went back to the Army. I spent a long time in combat. I always got asked why I would fight for a country that has done what it has done to my people and I would always say that it was my country too and I fought for the brothers beside me. We have warriors blood in our DNA and the Great Spirit guides us.

Hiteto, hike howaselisimimo, I am member of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma. My great grandfathers were Marines in WWI and fought in Belleaue Woods, both Grandfather's were Marines Island Hopping in the Pacific in WWII, one Grandfather went on to fight in Korea, two Uncles served in Vietnam, one didnt make it home, two cousins served in Desert Storm, I had a baseball scholarship, but turned it down to serve 12 years in the Marine Corps as an Infantry Rifleman. I did 5 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and wore the eagle feathers my grandfathers carried in WWII and during the Second Battle of Fallujah, when I left for that deployment, my Uncle told me to always put the red lines behind my eyes every morning during thus deployment and I would come home. When we arrived in country we found out we were going to involved in this battle, the bloodiest battle of Iraq, we lost 33 Marines in that battle, over 50% of us that survived were wounded. I should have never made it back from that one, but I think my uncle blessing me helped bring me back. I don't sleep often. March 23 2003, I was with 1/2 Marines and we found the vehicles of 507th. We heard of Lori, I got to visit Piestiwah Peak two years ago. I left tobacco there. They got lost and got out in front of us and encountered the Insurgents and fedeyeen of An Nasiryah. It is March 26, 3 days after her death. My unit Charlie Co. 1st Battalion 2nd Marines we lost 18 of our Marines that day March 23 2003.

Native Americans are the biggest patriots out there, many families had to join WW2 and WW2 just for us to become u.s. citizens in our own home..

I was so against the pipeline and so angry when they lost. Indian lands need to be protected and respected.

Even though my African Ancestors were brought to America in chains. Many of my relatives served during WW2, the Korean and Vietnam wars, and I served during Operation Desert Storm. Native Americans, I am exceptionally glad that you survived through it all and continue to contribute with your warrior spirit. From a Veteran to all my former comrades in arms and to all those who continue to serve. Thank you for your service, because at the end of the day, the Nation belongs to us all.

An Apache named Strand was in Vietnam in the 4th Invantry Division on the Cambodian Border in 1967 he was a great warrior. My Uncle Kieth told me stories of how he saved the platoon on numerous occasions. We decend from warriors also and our Grandfather was a Cherokee mounted volunteer under Gen . Watie in the civil war. Proud to be an American.

My Father fought in Japanese war 2 + years but what really hurts he got no gun salute, we're Lipan Apache.....and they want us to walk with a smile because they say it was God's will for what they did took from us......

The native population is more American and patriotic than many other immigrant citizens. Respect and example to this nation and respect from their own traditional nation received and respected received back into their nation. So much better than others! Thank you for your service

Growing up in a Black American family I was taught different things the world around us wasn't always nice, but I come from a military family. My Dad made sure knew our faith our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our military background and our Cherokee background from him. My mother's side is black, Choctaw and white. I'm still learning but also grounded by faith and my heritage. I've served since 1981

My brother was an Army combat medic for 24 years two tours of Iraq and two tours of Afghanistan blown up in both places. I am now 31 years old and just enlisted in the Army National Guard I passed my ASVAB yesterday and am super excited. All I can think about is my warrior blood the example my brother set for me of the warrior he was.

I must fall to my knees to honor you all. I made it to Nam in 69. It was a horror. I flew hilo to get solders from the fields. That was I was shot down. Saved by ground soldiers. Wounded & sent home. But I feel like I should have died trying to get more brother's out. Whites never understood.

My dad was an MP while in service, he was a marine and made for this, we are choctaw, I agree we are to serve and protect even after coming home, my dad was called on for back up when the police needed help, but he would not hire on with them because he would say " I will be in trouble in 5 minutes and your not going to like it", he was quiet but if provoked became a fighting machine it looked like, he was proud of where he stood in life while he served and after out of the military.

The Greeks have much respect for the Apache nation. The word Apache is synonymous with bravery and prowess. Patriots who put up a good fight to defend and fight for their nation and lands. Most preferred to die in battle than retreat or surrender. My ancestors, the Spartans, would have been honored to have had them at their side in battle.

They are real warriors because they fight for their nation

It’s really rooted in their blood. DNA is one big part of how we develop and gain abilities which are passed down. The fact that they’re fighting for a colony who’s ancestors committed genocide, truly says something about the way of the warrior. No other ethnic groups have matched up in terms of being the perfect warrior.

Beautiful doco. Maori are similar as are many Indigenous people who are colonised. We still fight for our land, our people, our culture, and always will. That is our way back, our way now, and our way forward.

Always admired and respected the native americans. They got a raw real from europeans who came to steal their land, their country. But still they remain true to their culture, their heritage. Native americans are resilient. Despite all these they still served the europeans who stole their land. And still kept their respectability

Im Choctaw, my dad served, we believe it is our duty to protect this land no matter what people call it, it's still our land as we were put here first ,we did not give it to them, soo they are here like an unwanted weed in a garden, just as they did our grandparents as they looked at them to be the lowest and thrown to the ground as seeds or grass cut to wither and decay, not so for us as our spirit keeps fighting, and we are filled with the spirit of the CREATOR who guilds us, we fight at anytime we are ready to stand and move against our enemy to fight and die if it is prescribed by CREATOR to protect our seed, our family, our friends, our tribes, all of our tribes, and anyone that joins us no matter who they are, we all fight for a common cause in unison to protect our interest in survival, we learned to stand beside the enemy of the past in every conflict we got pulled into, after all we stand against something that is against us that threatens our very existence and we will not be cowering down to anyone because we are the victors that came forward to battle bringing our knowledge as this is what we have had to do to survive, in this we take an oath to serve and protect on thr battlefield and at home again no matter where you at, a warrior you were born to be, a warrior always, you are strong in your beliefs and use this energy to fight, armed with the truth and shield of faith the CREATOR IS STANDING THERE FIGHTING WITH YOU , in some cases it is him we are fighting for to preserve him who makes us strong, we are the survivors, the strongest, we are the warriors, a great welcome home to those who have survived, a great welcome home for those who did not and we thank you for your service, thank you great spirit CREATOR for those who made it home, support the warriors who have paid with THIER lives, and those who live on still support them as most worthy these two types that protect us all.

Our native American's are the most brave people. A beautiful history.. I lived in OK for years. My Native friends were the best people I've ever known, very spiritual and downright good people.

I served with a few Native Americans, and I always respected their culture, they always reminded me of the Samurai, the way of the Warrior!

The Mohican tribe might not have ever had a warrior tradition, but it's stuff like this that makes me proud to be part Indian.

I have tears. For the warrior and the history of the Indian. My step dad not sure which tribe he was from. But he was hung in effigy by Dennis Banks and Russell Means. At Bamige? He was superintendent of the Navajo Hopi res and superintendent of the Souix res. A good man. In my apartment Chief Joseph a poster of my HERO. I grew up spending summers on the Colville res hang out in the bush and woking for my uncle who leased a fishing resort from the Colville tribe. I would hangʻ out with the bears at the dump. My friends were mostly indiàn through my life. I still have a very good friend I talk with every couple of months that is indian in Spokane. We hunted together dranka ran around. Good times. I've held the Eagle Feathers that were Geronimo's an other of my friends a keeper of the feathers. I have long red hair and was a dancer. Now at 81 I still dance and i play music. Another hero is Black Elk Medicine Man of the Souix. I was a Marine 0311 Infantry went to Cuba but not Vietnam. Was always point man in our operations. Had Bear dreams a big part of my life. My karate sensai Kenpo is Apache. He had me read two books Look For Me On the Mountain about Geronimo. And Burning Man Swimming. Highly recommend reading. Happy Trails

It is unfortunate the government continues to try and strip the Native Americans of their culture, language etc. The Mexicans are going through this, being denied their native heritage by calling them latinos, Hispanics when their not. (Dr. Jack D. Forbes)

I’m proud of my service to my country and that of my ancestors (on both sides I am descended from warriors who have served this country).I’m not political and I don’t care who claims ownership of this country, it will always be my home. I have a warrior spirit, my first name means courageous, warrior. I also enjoy learning about history all history and science. I’m not ashamed of this country’s past : the good, bad, ugly. We are still here! There is always more nuance to the history we are made aware of. More than either side seems willing to try to acknowledge or understand. I’m here for it though.

I’m Navajo, my uncle James Dixon was one of the original 29 code talkers. I enlisted in the Navy, my two oldest sones enlisted in the Navy too. The oldest was a Nuke Machinist Mate 1st class in the USS Alabama and USS Albuquerque, my middle son served in the surface warfare in the USS Debuque, I was Intelligence Specialist 2nd class.

My father was a corporl in the USMC During WW2 Guadal canal Saipan ,Tarawa, back up on Tinian. Then because he had several bronze stars oak leaves and several silver stars , ended up sort of working ,for Admiral King. As did my mom an E5.... Growing up my father told us about the Navahoes and Hopi he worked with..

Master Sargent Roy Benavides ❤ was from Texas and his Mom was from the Yaqui tribe a Great Warrior of American Indian descent and of Mexican descent we are also very grateful and proud of his service. I want to thank all American Indians for their service their duty and dedication to our country. I’m looking forward to go around and seeing the American Indian Veterans museums and to pay tribute and honor the fallen heroes and all that have served. Imagine being denied that! Like me. Because an eye lost!

I just paused this video and backtracked to find the name of this soldier Chuck Boers; but l loved the way he and others were talking about what other soldiers assumed that they could do as Native Americans because of preconceived perceptions and l loved that he said that most of them couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag! As an Irish woman from Dublin, we always used something similar about certain self-proclaimed hard men [or women] by saying; They couldn't Fight their way out of a paper bag! I'm gonna use his phrase from now on and add in a "Wet" paper bag 😅 Great video, really enjoying it and getting back to it now ..... I and many Irish people who suffered under colonial rule by Britain love and identify big time with the Native American Tribes as we were also tribal people who suffered for hundreds of years because of the greed of others.

I have quite a few friends Native Americans have been to a few pow wows I could feel the love the respect and the Hand of God leading these people they seem to be a very spiritual and they do believe in a a power that comes from the Earth the wind the fire the heavens and the water the warrior spirit transcends all because it is what standing up for what is right that makes the warrior and it's a very beautiful thing if you ever get to go to a pow wow you're so humbly and with a humble heart Excel allows you to dance with them do so in the circle of life and thank all veterans for the freedom that you have because they gave it to us with love give them to respect that they deserve

I wouldn't be to proud that my family member was a "scout" .... without those ppl the European army would have been in total chaos ..lost but those native ppl who were "scouts" helped the European ..Led them right to women and children
