"The Wasp Woman" is a classic 1959 science fiction horror film directed by Roger Corman. The story revolves around Janice Starlin, the owner of a cosmetics company struggling with declining sales and aging. Desperate to maintain her youth and beauty, Janice agrees to undergo an experimental treatment developed by Dr. Eric Zinthrop, which uses enzymes from the royal jelly of wasps.
Initially, the treatment proves successful, and Janice experiences a remarkable rejuvenation. Her youthful appearance attracts attention and boosts the sales of her company's products. However, the effects are temporary, and Janice soon realizes that she needs regular injections of the serum to maintain her youthful appearance.
As Janice becomes increasingly dependent on the serum, she experiences severe side effects, including uncontrollable fits of rage and physical transformations resembling those of a wasp. Despite warnings from Dr. Zinthrop, Janice continues to use the serum, driven by her fear of aging and her desire for eternal youth.
