I do this too. You can get the Wilton clear silicone cups on amazon and eBay, a pack of 12 for $10. Sometimes I want to change out wax when the wax I’m using still has lots of scent life left in it. I wouldn’t want to throw away perfectly good scented wax! This way with the silicone liners, I can easily change wax with no mess and no having to wipe the warmer bowl down to clean it. Once the swapped out wax cools down, it just plops right out of the silicone cup and I save it for future use. This is the easiest way to swap out scents! No waiting, no mess, no wasting Cotten balls or tissues, no chance of breaking your warmer bowl, etc. It’s awesome!
This is a great idea! I use little foil tartlet pans, because I mostly use warmers with a candle and I'm not sure if the temp would be too high and damage the silicone (probably not, and maybe I can figure out the temp). I will try the silicone cup hack on my light bulb warmer though. In reading the comments here, it seems like most people don't get that you WERE NOT trying to get out the wax to necessarily throw it out, or that you WERE just offering an alternative to the obvious ways of getting the wax melt out of the warmer. I know how much work goes into making videos and how some comments (even if they miss the mark of commenting on the actual point of your video🤦♀️) can make creators feel. This was a great video and hack, and the first video of yours that I have ever seen - and I'm a new sub because of this video.👍
Omg I found you because I searched to see if I can melt soap in a wax warmer and to see what you have done sent my mind in a brainstorm 😄🤗 I'm going to get me some of those silicone thingys and also some essential oils bc I have alot of candles that I bought from thrift store that doesn't have a smell. Thank you for sharing 😍🤗💃
This is a great tip thank you for the video. What I usually do is I put the top piece of my warmer with the wax in it in the freezer for about 15 minutes and then the wax just pops out.
Absolutely fantastic idea with the silicone cups. You can reuse each scent if you want, and when it doesnt scent the room well enough any more, I put it in a clothes drawer or closet.
I just got a wax warmer and various wax melts for Christmas and have no experience with them. Thank you so much for this hack and Merry Christmas abd Have a happy New Year!
Learn something new everyday. Not what I was looking for. I was looking for using essential oils in a wax warmer for diffuser. But like this video anyway.😅😂❤😂
Yes, I'm using this tip. Since I'm just getting started and only have one warmer it let's me try more options because I don't have to "clean" the dish.
You can just put in the fridge after it’s solid. About 5-10 mins. The wax will pop out as one whole big piece when you got to chip at it. I do it all the time
Hard to watch the first couple seconds. Lol. Who does that? Who has that much time... to fight all that dried up wax, attempting to scrape it into a trash can? To each their own I guess. Your idea is great if you change scents often. Personally though, I (finally) found one that I really liked and prefer to just always use that same scent. When they get dull, I drop (into the hot, melted wax) however many cotton balls it takes to fill the bowl. They absorb it quickly. Then I'll use a dry paper towel to remove the bowl (as it'll still be warm) and wipe the cotton balls out. It's quick and most importantly...no mess! Viola! Nice n clean and ready for the next couple of cubes!
my husband taught me to turn the wax melter on just long enough for the wax mass to let go of the tart warmer then just plop it in the trash. i use a popsicle stick to poke at it every few min as it warms up until it dislodges lol then just wipe with a paper towel or something.
I have that EXACT same wall plug in wax melt unit! Since I keep it on most of the day & into late evening, can you tell me if the silicone holder does well for that length of time? The only reason I ask is because my birth mother’s trailer caught fire more than two weeks ago causing her to lose practically everything. In fact, her (adopted) daughter is staying with my husband & me in order to go to school since she attends the same high school our two daughters graduated from years ago. Despite my pleadings over the years, she didn’t have homeowners insurance. Between the fire, smoke, & water to put the fire out, it’s a 99.9% loss. 😢 Even worse, my birth mother is almost 72yrs old with heart & breathing problems, as well as severe osteoarthritis. There’s not much we can do for her. I’m legally blind w multi autoimmune diseases & I care for a husband who has health problems. As you can imagine, I’ve been a bit more adamant about fire safety at home regardless of the fact we’ve got homeowners insurance, the nearest fire station is less than a minute from us, & it takes longer for a house fire to spread than a mobile home. We’ve suffered through smoke damage then professional clean up a couple decades ago when the fire box in the gas pack of our heating unit cracked. That was nightmare enough for one lifetime. Thanks for the tip! Btw, have you ran across any cups in the shape of the new Yankee Candle melt cups? I’d like to find something in that shape so I can use other wax melts, including Yankee Candle. I have several packs of the YC wax melts from before buying the wax melt cup style warmer.
Real question: Can someone explain to me why you don’t just add your new cubes to the old wax? Isn’t this wasting wax melts to just throw the wax away?
I use the flippins once in a while. I wouldn't store any wax in ziplock bags as it will pull all the fragrance out of your melts. Polypropylene bags are pretty cheap and won't do that. ☺️
Help!! My wax melter light bulb won't turn on. My cousins were messing with it and the thing that holds the light bulb is super loose, so do I need to change the lightbulb or get a new wax melter?
I just bought 2 wax warmers one is sensational brand and the other from Amazon I can't smell a thing when i warm the wax melts, what am i doing wrong, could it be the wax?
I have recently found out that there are wax cubes at Walmart called Scent Sensational (something along those lines) and they smell so strong and exactly like whatever scent you are buying!!!! I will never ever use anything but this from now on not even Yankee wax melts or Better Home and Gardens!!!!
Putting the the top of wax warmer that you put the wax in..in the freezer for about 10mins...turn it over and pop it in your hand..comes out completely!!!
Hey Brandi, I see no one answered you, I'm a Scentsy Consultant, if you want me to send you a catalog with samples I can do that just email me at waxgoodiesforyou@gmail.com :)
Thanks this truly a great trip or trick. It Is so easy and wasn't something I would have thought of doing. Thank You, so much for sharing this idea. Yes, you were nervous but you still Gave a good job.
As a scentsy consultant, just stick a cotton ball when warm and it absorbs it all up! Why have a pretty warmer if your going to put a cupcake liner on top of it 😂
Never down the toilet. It would set to be solid, it doesn't stay liquid when it's cold and gradually the sewerage system blocks up along with all the other things that shouldn't be put down there. Only paper that will break down. Liquid wax could be poured onto grass or into the garden then picked up and disposed of when cold or maybe broken up into small bits to encourage break-down.
