I clicked on the video out of being curious & saving money too. After watching I was like why in the hell it didn't dawn on me to remove the top & put my own fragrance in🤔. The simple things that stump us!🤨🧐
Looks like she poured that whole .5oz bottle in and let it roll….I’ve seen some videos that say to dilute with water lol….now that just don’t sound right as oil and water don’t mix
Nice tip! Can't be re-used with scented waters or alcohol fragrances scents= Flammable*. ONLY Oil diffuses or oil based scents, and dont clean out the bottles. Any WATER siphoned up the wick ruins it. 👏
Thanks!!! Glad I read your reply. It answered all the questions I had about what and what not to use. I use an oil diffuser, but the plug-in type in the bathrooms. It would be nice to sync the smells. LOL.
You are a freaking genius! I'm going to start doing this immediately!! I'm always mad that I waste so much money buying these over and over and over and you're telling me I could be recycling. Amazing! Thank you so much for this!
If some people watch the video again, you'll notice you don't use the original wick. It is thrown away and the replacement with the same bottle is used. The other comment about washing the original bottle first with Dawn is a good idea also.👍🏼
@Quiet As kept please do! Inquiring minds are here for the details of this budding love story! Monty will learn soon enough that growing up ain't easy!
I'm gonna try it, that's a good idea. I was going to buy another refill but since I worked for dollar tree and saw what I could do with the refills I bought I can do this.. Wow!! Great 💡idea
I’ve done this for quite some time it works great one word of advice please use gloves when exchanging the oils the one in the original bottle can be very harmful if it gets on the skin❤️
Yes!! That’s a very important thing to know. I took the top of my plug in to smell the original fragrance and a little bit ended up on the top of my lips and I felt a little burning sensation
I tried the Bath & Body wallflower hack using airwick diffuser(the big one, battery operated). Then I found the wicks(Aura Cura) @ a health food store Jungle Jim's. I wash the glass bulb out & put my own essential oil blend it works!!! GAMECHANGER!!!!!🤗🤗🤗
True. THAT'S why you can ONLY use oil in the plug ins. But, you can use fabric softener or the Unstoppable scent boosters with water in a spray bottle. Let them dissolve and spray that "Ish" EVERYWHERE!!!
I heard a report on the news that using these with any fragrance is not healthy. I love these and am still using them. I did the same thing as you. Stay safe. Be blessed
Great. Glad someone had similar idea..n podting it. Thanks..I've been doing it for years as well..I use lavender oil eucalyptus oil and peppermint n clove oil n perfumed oils...now learning to make my own oils from plants..busy growing trees..saving money. I even moved from australia to nz n pack them into my container. Love the clean smell in a home.
Makes no sense all the money you spent to refill it your time opening up those little bottle tops going to the dollar tree getting the sense and by the way they don’t have any good smelling sense you could’ve just went and bought what you needed and replaced them and replace them yourself and just throw the empty bottles away it’s a waste of time
Remember when the small glass vases came with little wood sticks and you put the oil in it and the sticks would pull up the oil and make the room smell so nice ?? I still use the DT oils for that... I am kind of "old school" !
@ Jane Ferguson Please tell me about this since plug ins tend to give me headaches. I want to know what grand parents and great grand parents used.. Anyone else looking at this comment please reply as well if you know of more natural and effective ways to make the apartment smell great all the time..
Wow wow wow. I am just trying to put in my refills in the cover. I learnt something great from you today. I spent about uk £6 on two refills. I have on opened one, so I am going to return the second on. Thank you so much my beautiful sister
Oh for crying out loud.... I could have been saving so much money all these years!😅 you are a lifesaver! thank you so much for sharing your amazing hack with us! You are the real MVP🎉❤🎉
Nice tip also if you didnt know they sell a smaller refill of the glade fragrances at dollar tree now I've seen the lavender and a pink color fragrance which I enjoy it lasts up to 30 days it says
WoW this is a clever hack and a good💰💰💰 saver. Especially if the fragrance refills at dollar tree aren’t expensive like the refills for air wick. I definitely will give this a try and thanks for sharing the info. I’ll come back and let you know how long it last as well
Not sure how "authentic" the oils at DT are. I tried a bottle years ago and it scent was gone in about 24 hrs. May try again as they switch out suppliers all the time.
What a money saver !!!! Thank you so much!!! Til the company catches on and seals those tops…..I am going to save a supply of those bottles for my future…..you are awesome….thanks👌🏻🌸❤️
Dollar General (if one is in the area) has DG home brand glass scented oil refills that fit in the Glade plug in warmers. 5 for $6.50 or 3 for $4.50. They work better than the glade to me, as in i smell the DG alot more easily than the Glade. And you save a few dollars, if that is what you are looking for. I know the Dollar tree oil is only $1 but this is only $1.30 per unit, and this works better because you can smell it in the air alot more consistently than Dollar tree oil!! (Like i said, in my opinion even better than the Glade brand itself where you spend an average of $2.00 per unit just for a refill)
Grand Rising gratitude and I appreciate you for sharing 👍 so all this time I can just buy the oil that I like and reuse the glass amazing continue to stay safe
I've used this & it's a hit/miss. Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't. I've also did this with the Swiffer. Take the top off of the Swiffer bottle, add Pinesol/water/Bleach. Put the top back on & your in business to mop your floors.
How did you refill it ? I've tried doing this before but couldn't remove the plastic thing properly eneded up making the whole wat to big so when I turned upside down to put in place the liquid started dripping. .😏
@@judithgalvan7738 in order to remove the top, you hv to get some pliers & carefully twist the top off. Once you get top off, you can refill it & replace the top & tighten it back with the pliers.
I use this with the Swiffer FAITHFULLY!!! I’m going to try and see if this works with the plug ins. IMO the wick should probably be changed. idk, but I’m going to try it out.
@@judithgalvan7738 I boil a small pot of hot water. Let it boil, then turn it off. Place the empty Swiffer container in it upside down; only the top part where the cap is goes in the hot water; count to 20…Get a piece of paper towel to wrap around the top, turn the top then voila, the top easily comes off. Fill the container back up and put the top back on and I’m good to go.
I tried it and it works great. One thing is you have to be careful putting the wick back in the unit. Thank you for sharing and it does work well. May God bless you and your family.
I do the same thing I put those all over my apartment I get the Air Wick Fresh Linen it smells so good I get 5 in a package for $9.89 from Walmart or Amazon about twice a month because I put them on maximum so you can really smell it. Now all I have to do is find a smell as good as the Fresh Linen I always get and fill it up ‼️💯👍🏻😉 Thanks 😊
Try the dollar Tree Palo Santo - I've been using that in my oil diffuser and I really like that smell. I used to use the fresh linen/ cotton/ 20ish years ago to Hawaiian scents and now I love a unique elegant-ish smell that you don't smell everywhere. That Palo Santo smells almost like a nice cologne. I wish the sandalwood smelled like my air wick essential oil mist sandalwood cuz I'm obsessed w it but the dollar tree sandalwood doesn't. Even pure sandalwood essential oil don't :( and it's SO hard to find so for me the Palo Santo has been a great substitute for now. I use gain febreeze plug ins and the Dollar Tree Palo Santo in my diffuser. Gives my house a very unique yet GREAT smell. As said above - I was OBSESSED w the cashmere Woods before trying this.
